When I came to the restaurant I asked the server if there were gluten free options available because I have celiac disease and any exposure to gluten can cause a severe medical episode. I even requested that my order be marked for a customer with celiac disease so the kitchen knew to change gloves and wipe down any utensils needed before preparing my meal. When I got my food the server called it baked potato for celiac which I thought nothing of at the time. Until after about halfway through my meal I started getting serious stomach pain a sure sign that my celiac was flaring up. Causing me to have to rush home. While the food over all is pretty good I feel like the staff treated my serious medical condition as a joke. So yes the atmosphere is very nice and the food is good I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone with severe allergies or dietary restrictions like celiac read more

We live in Mesa and we're in the area a couple of weeks ago before it had opened for the day so last night we made the quick split decision to come in for dinner and I'm actually glad that we did. It was a Tuesday and the place was packed with people it was an older crowd which works great for me .There's indoor / outdoor seating the outside area is big enough to hold a smaller stage for live music and there's an area outdoors that has warm firepits to sit next to on a cold night. Now how you order is you walk in and get in line to order your food and a server will bring it out to you. There's a condiments area where you can get your utensils, sauces, pickles, jalapeños and pickled onion. The BBQ here is a Carolina style BBQ different from what i'm use to but it was good. My favorite out of our 5 meat sampler was the ribs by far they were seasoned perfectly so that you don't need the extra sauce. Now my least favorite was the turkey and sausage very dry and lacked flavor. The brisket was fatty but all in all it wasn't a bad experience. This place has a full bar with t.v.s domestic beers run $6.50 each. There's lots of parking in the back it's a quaint hidden gem that everyone should check out. My honest opinion stick with the ribs opt out on the turkey and sausage. read more

Can I give this place 10 stars?!? We've been waiting for this to open and it was even better than expected. AMAZING BBQ. Best we have EVER had. Great service, great atmosphere & tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Fire pits outside, the live music on Saturday night was perfect. This is for sure our new go - to spot. Worth the price, even the side dishes were SO good. Highly recommended you check this place out!!! Better than Caldwell County BBQ (and that's saying something). read more

Dutchman's Country BBQ - Brisket Sandwich, Arizona Elote, Jalapeño Gouda Mac n Cheese, and 1/2lb Brisket - Barbeque Near Me - Apache Junction, Arizona

The ribs were fall off the bone, the pulled pork was tender, the brisket was melt in my mouth, and the sausage was excellent! Their BBQ sauces were great, but not needed on anything. Even the banana pudding was great! The only thing I missed was some good sweet tea. Even without the tea, I still want to come back. read more

Kinda off the beaten path but worth the extra trip, just go ahead and plan to bring the family and explore the superstition areas. The lady at the counter was quite helpful, I got their sample plate and added some banana pudding because it'd be a sin not to. It came with pulled pork, ribs, hatch chili and cheese sausage, smoked turkey, and both the flat and point of the brisket. I got to say I was impressed. The sausage was great, had that Smoky hatch goodness, the pulled pork was moist and flavorful, the ribs were also very tasty. The standouts were the turkey and brisket. For the brisket, the flat was perfect and tender and the point... that fat cap was nice and packed with a ton of flavor. The turkey had to be the best I've had, it was moist and tender and tasted amazing. I could tell there was good penetration of a brine (I'm guessing). I would love to find out if they smoke turkey for holidays, It's work and family worthy. Lastly, the banana pudding was delicious, it had a light creamy feel that isn't too sweet. This paired well with the large amount of meat my fat a$$ ate. Overall, this is an amazing place to get great bbq and amazing views. I look forward to coming back when they have live music. read more

Dutchman's BBQ is doing a lot of things right, starting with the fact that our table went quiet once the food arrived. Always a good sign. I ordered the pork tacos and the flavor was outstanding. Smoky, rich, and clearly made by someone who respects pork. I loved the sweet bits of pineapple in them. They were a little greasy, but not in a deal breaker way. More like a grab an extra napkin and keep going situation. The service deserves a real shoutout. It felt intentional, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. Orders were handled smoothly for our group of seven, timing was solid, and no one made us feel rushed or forgotten. That kind of service matters, especially with a big table. The self-serve BBQ sauce bar is dangerous in the best way. Housemade pickles, onions, and sauces invite curiosity instead of collecting dust. I went back more times than I planned. I also had the rosemary blueberry gin cocktail and it was beautifully balanced. Not too sweet, not too herbal, just really well done. BBQ and cocktails do not always get along, but this one absolutely worked. The only challenge was the noise level inside. The music was loud enough to make conversation tricky. The outdoor area with the fire pits and heaters looked amazing, but it was completely full. A few more outdoor spots would make a big difference. All that said, I would absolutely go back. Great food, thoughtful drinks, standout service, and a place that clearly knows what it's doing. read more

Amazing food, great service, beautiful restaurant and view. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

First of all our order taker (you order your food when you walk in. There is a well organized menu board behind the order taker. You pay there, get a number, sit down and they bring your food and drinks.) Back to Tara our order taker. She was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the sample platter and weren't sure if it was enough for both of us. Tara assured us it was and she was right. Our second time there and we will go back. The food and the smoke smell is amazing. read more

This business just opened. It has been under re-construction for more than a year. The items that we ordered were alright but nothing out standing or different than any other good BBQ restaurant. We did not like standing in line like you do at a fast food joint to order your food, drinks or alcohol. Very noisy, no shades on the window to keep the afternoon sun from blinding you and the worst part was the FLYS. We do not like fighting flys away from our food. read more

Came here with some friends and family. We all wanted to try this place out. We had the sampler platter. This consists of 1/4lb of their pulled pork, brisket, ribs, and their sausage. The brisket and sausage was amazing. The pulled pork and ribs were good. This came with corn bread, which I love. I also ordered their chili. It was also good. Now their dessert was not that great. We sampled the lemon merengue tart, pecan pie tart, banana pudding. None were worth the try. However, we would like to come back and hang out by the fire pits. read more

First impression. The views of the Superstitions are spectacular. The restaurant itself has nice decor with a cowboy theme and country music playing. We got there around 4:30 and it was beginning to get busy. We waited a few minutes to order then sat in the bar area so we had a good view! Our bar drinks came quickly and mine was tasty! Our food arrived shortly after the drinks. My husband had the brisket sandwich and I had the pulled pork sandwich, both were equally delicious . Our sides were the slaw, cheesy potatoes and the Mac and cheese. They were all quite flavorful. The atmosphere is awesome. A great patio with a few firepit s, heaters and what appeared to be a stage with a small dance floor. My husband and I really enjoyed Dutchmans and will definitely be going back. This place is great for big groups, super fun ! read more

Fun place with outdoor seating and "dance floor" off patio. Parking available but parking was limited as people were parking stupid and taking up spaces and blocking exit. they need to have spaces marked rather than just gravel pit. The brisket was way over cooked. sauce was too spicey (hot) and a couple people in our group couldn't eat theirs. I did eat mine but had bad indigestion. We didn't know you had to go in restuarant and order at counter. After sitting awhile watching servers bring out food we stopped one and asked for menus. He then told us to go in and order at counter and they bring food out. There was no live music. We got there at 6 pm and left at 8:30 pm. read more

Third time here, I was very disappointed. Loaded potato was not cooked through, but a little hard at the core. I chose brisket for the potato--there were at least 3 globs of fat, especially for the amount of meat; I found that so gross!! And the fat from the brisket had kind of melted into the potato. My husband didn't want his Cole slaw ; I tried it--like eating mayo with no real flavor besides, and equal parts cabbage: mayo. I got the chile last time; it was pretty good. read more

I gave this joint 5 stars because of the service and the sauces. The only thing I'd say is the Mac and cheese is bland and stay away from the pulled pork. The turkey, sausage and brisket is outstanding. The view of the Superstition Mountain is in constant view while you eat. The outdoor patio is where it's at, if weather permits, eat outside. We sat beyond the outside bar on a high top plank bar. Looking straight at the mountain. Get there, the journey is well worth it. read more

New BBQ joint in town, and I had to check it out. The food came out lightning fast, which was great except it showed up like it took the scenic route to see the amazing view of the Superstitions before coming to the table. Lukewarm, not hot. Minor bummer, but I'll give them some grace since they're new. We went with the two-meat plate: fatty brisket and Hatch chili cheddar sausage, plus Gouda mac and cheese on the side. The brisket had that perfect smoke ring and pulled apart like a dream, and the sausage had all the green chili flavor a girl could ask for. The green chili cornbread with honey drizzle was so good, but next time I will ask for the hot honey drizzle. Appetizers were the Texaz Twinkies and pork belly lollipops, both worth the calories. The Twinkies were a creamy, cheesy, smoky masterpiece stuffed into a jalapeño that hit all the right notes without setting your mouth on fire. The pork belly lollipops were sticky, saucy, and practically fell apart when you looked at them. Dessert was a pecan pie tart with house-made whipped cream, light and fluffy, though I wouldn't have complained if the cream had a bit more sweetness. Drinks were on point. The Basil Bourbon Berry was refreshing and dangerously easy to sip, and the Church Music beer came out ice-cold and crisp. Overall, the flavors were bold, the presentation was fun, and the menu feels fresh for the BBQ scene. I will also note the flies were a little too friendly for my liking, maybe some table fly fans inside would be beneficial. read more
