I first started enjoying Dutch Bros when I was in college (UC Davis). This particular location on South Meadows Parkway in Reno is conveniently located and in a safe, clean, and overall nice feeling area. There often is a line but service is generally quick and every employee I have ever interacted with at this location has been well trained (or naturally gifted?) in small talk. In 2025 my new favorite drink became the Mudslide, unfortunately, it is only offered seasonally. My go-to now is usually a decaf mocha and I add Irish Cream syrup and dark chocolate sauce. Side note, if you go often enough, the app is totally worth downloading. I will say that my kids haven't been too impressed with the Dutch Bros steamers (at least not their vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry ones), but perhaps I haven't ordered them the right flavor yet. I needed a mid-day pick me up and decided to pre-order on their app before heading to visit a friend in South Reno. I ordered an iced SF caramel oatmilk latte. The service here was faster here than my past Sparks location visits. This store seemed more organized, less chaotic and I'm not complaining. I am new to the ways of the Dutch, I enjoy the change up in my caffination journey. Stopping in around 7am on a Friday was the perfect time to beat the rush. When pulling in, there were 3 cars in line. When leaving, there were at leat 20! The very friendly staff member took my order from a tablet before I pulled up to the window, my drink was ready when I pulled up! My regular order is a vanilla latte. It is simple, but my favorite. This was just right. Not too sweet, and just creamy enough. The baristas are quite friendly and even gave me new stickers from the monthly merch drop. I can see why there is a following. This particular location is convenient and easy to get through, as they have the two lane drive up as well as a walk-up window. They are typically always crowded, which is not surprising given the quality of their coffee. It is way better than the coffee at the Buck of Star! The other aspect that makes me happy is the staff is always incredibly friendly and genuine. You can tell they love their job each and every time I visit them. Ordered a shark attack rebel which is supposed to be red and green (rainbow). I got a nice brown drink that looks like soda and doesn't taste very good. I honestly feel it's a bit lazy of the staff to even send that out. It was drive thru and I didn't want to ask them to remake it. But for my first experience here, I'm not impressed. If I order a drink solely based on how it looks, I expect it to look the way it is pictured on your menu. You guys should know better... clearly someone layered this drink wrong or stirred it. I am beyond disappointed with the service at Dutch Bros today. My mom was in line for over 35 minutes with a doctor's appointment to get to, stuck behind one vehicle while your staff stood there laughing and carrying on a casual conversation with the driver in a pickup truck. showing them their phones and being ridiculous...It was completely unprofessional. Not once did anyone acknowledge the line building up behind them. Not once did anyone say, "Hey, sorry for the wait, we'll be just a minute." There was zero awareness, zero urgency, and zero respect for customers' time. Dutch Bros loves to promote itself as friendly and customer-focused. What we saw today was the exact opposite. It felt more like a social hangout than a business. When customers are trapped in a drive-thru line, you have a responsibility to move things along and communicate delays. Your team failed at both. After waiting 35 minutes for one car to move, my mom had no choice but to drive off without her order. That is unacceptable. Management needs to find out exactly who was working during this shift and address this behavior. If this is the culture being encouraged at this location, you have a serious problem. Customers time matters, and today you made it clear that you don't value it at all. I had a doctor's appointment, and wanted to stretch my legs a bit. The line to get to the window was long for the drivers. I was told, by an unfriendly fellow how it works at that location. Was out in Reno for work and heard that there was a Dutch Bros walking distance from our hotel. I'd never heard of Dutch Bros before, but a lot of my coworkers were raving about it. I had a sip of someone's Campout Cold Brew and wow... the name says it all. I felt like I was transported back into my childhood (actually just kidding, I have s'mores as an adult) with the refreshing, sweet s'mores goodness. I got my own the next day! Anyway, this location has a drive thru and walk up option. Didn't have a car, so I went to the walk up window. Super easy to order! I almost tried one of the blended energy drinks (Shark Attack) but I had a lot of caffeine prior to this drink. I've been to Dutch bros all over and I do not understand why Reno, specifically this location, cannot get their game together. Today I was driving to work and saw there was a short line so I hopped in. I was also unfortunate enough to get behind who I can only guess was a former employee. Not only did the person taking orders hold up the line by having an almost ten minute conversation with this person but then when they finally got to the window the driver continued to talk for another five minutes with the employee giving them their drinks. Look I get it. Former employee comes in and you want to catch up. Don't do it in the drive through. Walk up to the window. That is why there is that option. On top of being late for work because it was social hour in the drive through, my drink was awful. I've literally been ordering an iced kicker with an extra shot since college. Which was over ten years ago. I don't know if they were distracted or what but it tasted almost like soap. Also I asked for whipped cream and no joke it looked like the can had the smallest amount left and they used it on my coffee then thought oh well and gave it to me. I've had amazing experience with any Dutch Bros. location, and this one is just as great as the others! Since Reno, NV is such a short getaway from the Bay, I'm here quite often to visit & unwind - most especially since we've got family friends that reside in this part of Washoe County! The area only used to have the lone Dutch Bros. at Carson Mall in the state's capital city, but expanded to numerous locations within the region (the two along S. Virginia & another off E. William Street in Carson City) - however, what makes this particular one stand out is its close proximity to our family friends' neighborhood - Damonte Ranch, which makes my visits so much better. It is a must to get that much needed caffeine boost to start your day, or if you just need a sudden jolt of energy if you're out and about! The customer service here is superb! Everyone is so friendly, and would actually initiate conversation rather than just take your order, and give it to you. A lot of the employees are young, so they have great energy and don't seem to dread their job. That's a great way for youngins' to earn some money at an early age, and find the importance of hard work! It was also pleasing to see smiling faces (or rather, enthusiastic/positive attitudes - since the few visits were during the pandemic and everyone had face masks on). At this location, I've only ordered their keto cold brew. It's basically cold brew iced coffee with heavy cream. Even though it might taste a bit bitter, there are way less calories on this drink than most of their really sweet, yet refreshingly addicting caffeinated beverages. Of course I'm not on that keto diet hype, I just prefer to make smart decisions & healthy options. They have so many drinks that can be customized to your preferences, and you practically have to do some research beforehand, so that you'd know what to order & be ready once you pull up into their drive-thru! (Pro Tip: Long lines lead to people not knowing what to order when they get to the front of the line, so just a heads up to REALLY know what you want - so the line can get moving! #justsaying) If you're from the Bay Area and Northern California, and haven't had Dutch Bros. yet from the scattered locations across that region, then you're seriously missing out on life!
