So when I pay $15 dollars, I am paying for your skill of accessing the contour of my face and shaping my brow to enhance or compliment my facial shape. At the very least leaving with a clean brow. I have been getting my eyebrows waxed for over 6 years but I got tired of my sensitive skin breaking out for the days following getting them waxed. NOT REAL SUGARING. I went to the 14th street location for a bikini sugaring and it was a NIGHTMARE. Absolutely HORRIBLE. The lady had NO idea what she was doing and when she started I was startled when she started waxing me. I told her I wanted sugaring and she said "that is what I am doing, this is just different". COVID related: the seat was sanitized before I sat down, the technicians wore masks the entire time, and let me know they just washed their hands. The young lady who was doing my eyebrows was actually sweet, but she made my two eyebrows look completely different. I was explaining to her what I wanted, and she did try to change it a bit. Just as I was talking to her, another lady came in, asked what was wrong, and then lectured me on the 'density' of my eyebrows, and why they were correct and I was wrong. Really? Is this the first time I'm getting my eyebrows done? Her tone was so condescending, refusing to listen to me or understand me but just making a nonsensical point. One client might mean nothing to her, but this is a service, no one is doing me a favor. I paid & went out to another place, who fixed my eyebrows just the way I wanted. I've come here a few times for eyebrow threading and had decent experiences but today I was very disappointed to have the woman who threaded my brows do such a rush job on me, pulling very hard that it was actually painful on my skin and when I asked if she could thread some stray hairs around one brow, she very hastily agreed and then walked away in a hurry. As I was paying, she was simply sitting on her phone in the waiting area. I don't understand if this is how she treats everyone but that's unacceptable. I've had great experiences at the Clarendon location so will keep going there. If I do come back to this spot, I will not definitely not be requesting her. read more

So, I was fairly excited to go to this place because of all of the reviews and hype around them. I'm very picky about my eyebrows and am always hesitant to go to a new place. However, I'm new to the city and desperately needed to get them done. The location is very close to the DuPont Circle metro stop, which is great and the establishment is very clean. I was serviced quickly and it was fairly painless. However, it looks like I didn't even get my eyebrows done. There was no shape/arch whatsoever and they looked *vastly* different from one another! No wonder it was painless... she took like two hairs off of my face lol. It's like she didn't even try :( For the price it was not worth the work. I ended up having to come home and shape them and pluck all the stray hairs myself. Very disappointed. read more

DO NOT EVER get a Brazilian wax here. I went there for months and one day I actually looked over and saw that Shakilah was double-dipping! As you know, this is very unsanitary and unsafe. She took the wooden stick and dipped it into the main pot of wax and put it directly on me. The same wax that was used on many other private areas from earlier that day (or week!). I told her to stop because that's not safe, but she insisted I stay to finish. She melted new individual wax and used that with a different stick. I'm not sure if she was upset I was so disgusted, but this was the WORST Brazilian I've ever had. She was very rough and the wax was hotter than before. I actually left with major redness and, eventually, had to see a dermatologist to properly heal. Because of the double-dipping, I had to get tested for every STI/STD possible because of fear that I got some disease from someone who had used that same wax earlier. It was a true, absolute, devastating nightmare and I wish this upon no one. Please go to another waxing salon. This is an eye brow place and I don't believe any of the workers are trained aestheticians. Do NOT put yourself through what I have gone through. It is not worth it! read more

The entrance to this place is kind of funky. Its all tucked away down the steps and around back but inside is pretty nice. Very colorful, and generally clean which is important in my book! I went mid day, i'd say like 1ish around lunchtime and I had a short 10min wait. I requested Nitasha as ALL the other reviews recommend. She did a great job. No complaints. Very quick, painless. My only issue is the price ($12) which is why I gave 4 stars and not 5. Im used to paying $7 in ATL and I miss my lady down there. :( read more

I have been in Yelp review retirement for a while, but have come out to write a review for this threading experience. I was in a desperate state. Oscar the Grouch eyebrows, out of town in DC, and a big upcoming event. I consulted with a girlfriend who used to live in DC who pointed me towards DuPont Threading. Always the skepticist with new places, I gave explicit instructions on what to do (and what not to do) to the unfortunate woman assigned to me. I may have scared her with my demands as she quickly walked away and in came Natasha. Like a beautiful oracle, she understood my needs and perfectly threaded my eyebrows. However, the piece de resistance, she provided a painless process! She expertly removed the hairs. Where I would once wince, cry, and retreat to my happy place, I was rather in a state of awe on how deftly she removed the hair. This place would make me consider moving to D.C., but my husband would probably be annoyed move solely for a threading place. For those of you in D.C., I highly recommend DuPont. One caveat, a little pricier than what I'm used to ($18 for eyebrows and upper lip). I don't know what D.C. prices are usually like, but I would pay extra for the phenomenal service. read more

I made an appt, I spoke with Natasha over the phone before arriving. She was finishing up a client's eyebrows when I arrived. There was myself and another client waiting. She took me next and rushed through completing my eyebrows. I told her before she started not to take a lot of hair off the ends. She took so much hair off the end of my left eye brow. And then didn't even clean up properly the right eyebrow. They're very uneven! I am not happy! When she finished she showed me the mirror and I was displeased, she said "I did not take a lot off." I was not going to argue with her because more clients arrived since I sat in the chair. I didn't want her to touch my eyebrows anymore than what she already damaged! I will not be going back. She is rude and rushes through her work when there is more than 1 client. read more

This place has gone downhill since my first visit years ago. They are typically super rushed and don't shape the eyebrows in an effort to get you in and out. When I get my lip done I have gotten scabs several times or hairs left behind, particularly from the new people. Natasha is still good but I feel she is rushed when people are there so doesn't give as much attention to the style of your brow. read more
