Had a quick and easy stop here last week a few days before my sister's wedding. There was one woman already waiting, but I think I sat for maybe 2 minutes before they had me in a chair. I didn't have a reservation, just walked in so no complaints there. The woman who worked on my eyebrows worked quickly so it was more like ripping off a bandaid than plucking which I vastly prefer. I'd rather just get the pain over and done with. After they rub a little rosewater on your skin which is very soothing and smells great. I had my brows and upper lip done and the total was $18. So let me begin by saying I usually love this spot and it's always been my go - to but I hadn't tried waxing my sideburns here before and this was the first time. The results were really bad, she left burn marks, hair was spotty so she left it almost half finished? It was realllly bizarre. Been looking for a good threader near me south of the Anacostia for a while. So happy I found this place. Thank u Yelp! The reviews were spot on. I have sensitive skin and cannot do wax. I was occasionally going to the local brow art in the mall but I usually just did them myself with tweezers or a straight edge razor ..they weren't bad but thank God for brow pencils and gels. I like how clean and sharp they were able to get my brows. I'm trying to grow them out and she cleaned me up very nicely. I'm very glad I took a chance. It's convenient, I had no wait (came on a Friday around 4), and loved the results. Worth every penny. Better than a lot of more expensive fancy shmancy places. So impressed by how safe I felt getting my eyebrows. From temperature checks to sanitizing everything including chairs and pens - I was amazed. Admittedly I was nervous going given how close threading is face to face but there was no instance I felt too close and the masks kept a big shield. After 10 visits you get an 11th free -- that's one of the reasons why I'll be back, but I'll go back when I'm unable to see my regular threading lady and if I'm pressed for time. LOCATION: The door is next to Pound The Hill. Walk as if you're entering Pound the Hill and look left, the door is right there. They are close to Eastern Market metro, on-street parking. Went to see Nitasha. There was someone just walking out as I walked-in and was able to be seen right away. The threading was quick and I came out looking good; after getting home I realized that she didn't trim with scissors and I had to tweeze in-between the brows. The place was empty, no one waiting, so there wasn't an excuse. They do not accept American Express credit cards, you /are/ able to add gratuity/tip on the credit card. The job itself was good, that gets 5 stars. However, there was an incident there today that was not properly handled by the staff. I went, signed in, there were two girls ahead of me. I went to use the restroom and came back out and another woman had come. When it was my turn, the woman who came after me went and got in the chair. I then said that I was there first and had already waited 30 minutes- I asked if she signed in. She proceeded to tell me she did not and she refused to get up. When I asked the staff about why she would be allowed to go first when I was clearly there before her- the staff responded that sorry, please just wait, and there's actually no need to sign in. If you literally have to STAND IN LINE and can't go to the bathroom, why have a sign-in sheet?! I just was appalled at the other woman's behavior who was clearly not used to acting her age-- but also appalled at the customer service of the staff who did not tell her that there is a process and that I had clearly signed in at least 15 minutes before that woman even arrived! Love Love LOVED this studio! That is my first time going to a threading studio in DC and I am sold. Not only are my eyebrows clean and arched, but she was very quick with her services. Since my first time, I've only gone to the one actually located in Dupont. I trust both ladies there. It was $13 total for just brows. Cheapest and Best quality I've found in DC. I've been coming here for a couple years to get my eyebrows done and there is one particular younger individual who works here who is hit our miss with her work. Sometimes, she does ok, but this time, she pulled so much hair out of the right eyebrow that it completely messed up the arch and looks visibly lopsided compared to the right brow. I had to immediately walk to Sephora to get a filler. I've tried to give her multiple chances and explain exactly what to do and not to do, but its not worth it. And for context, I have thick eyebrows and there's a lot to work with and hard to mess up. I'm so disappointed with her work. I have been a loyal customer of Nitasha's since I moved to DC 4 years ago, and cannot recommend her and her team highly enough. Nitasha is the best at threading brows, and Bina (sp?) has done an excellent job twice for me! This location is located on the second floor, above a restaurant. It hasn't been crowded during the few times I've been. I am always the 'clean-up' chick who never wants that much hair removed. I'm so happy that there is a DuPont Threading close to where I live. Trying to get to Dupont has been much more difficult since I moved off the red line. I've never had a wait when I've gone and the woman does a good job. For those who are new to threading, I highly recommend it over waxing- at least for the eyebrows. The entrance is kind of hard to find- its right next to the door for pound coffee. I'm docking one star because I've never heard about the frequent buyers card and because they have limited payment options.
