Markia is a magician and skin savior. After having a terrible reaction to Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen, my face was an inflamed mess. I was so red and had tiny bumps spread throughout my forehead and cheeks. Markia immediately noted that it was due to an allergic reaction and explained to me her process of a "wellness" facial. I have had my fair share of facials, but this is the first time someone emphasized the importance of looking at the body holistically to heal my skin. She told me she would be incorporating a foot and leg massage and would assess where I was feeling a lot of tension. You could tell she was genuinely concerned and knew there was more to healing my skin than the products she was going to use- she just kept telling me to relax and hoped I would feel less stressed afterwards. My facial included an oatmeal and honey mask, rice exfoliant from G.M. Collins (a Canadian brand), and a turmeric mask. Markia was very transparent about all the products she used and she blended them to match my skin's needs. After my 75-minute facial, my face was truly transformed. The redness had nearly disappeared completely and my face finally felt cool. After a week, my face was completely healed, bright, and glowing. I am incredibly thankful to Markia for rescuing my skin! I initially thought about doing a 30-minute massage, but was convinced to do an hour instead after learning that only half my body could be massaged with half an hour. The massage was very relaxing at points, but also painful in the best way. I was definitely sore after, but felt more flexible too. I felt like the stretching I was doing after the massage went further than it did pre-massage. It was also my first time getting a cupping massage, and what an experience that was!
