First off I want to make it very clear we did not purchase anything from Dunrite nor book any kind of service with them. This rating is completely based on a visit I made with them to discuss the installation of a semi-inground pool and an estimate on it. I spoke with the Sales Manager David whose first statement to me was "we are booked for the rest of this year". This was before I even told him what I had wanted. Once I told him the size pool I was interested in he just gave me a price and then just looked at me like I was wasting his time. I had to ask him what was included in the price. He rambled off some things. As I wrote these things down, he picked up his phone and started a call. I had to stand there and look at him while he finished his call in order to go over some of my other questions. Keep in mind this whole time I was standing in the doorway of his office and not once did he invite me in to have a seat. Just stopped by their Christmas shop. They have a beautiful setup and nice selection. I was the only customer in the store with 3 employees. No hello, no may I help you. I had to walk past all 3 on my way out. No good bye, they were too busy talking about what their grandchildren call them. Dunrite is there to install your pool and happy to take your money but there service falls short of good. Called on a Saturday in July because salt unit was not generating chlorine and was told there is no service on Saturdays and there is no way to get a hold of anyone be who can help me. Pool is 4 months old and when I called on Monday a woman answered and was less than helpful. Finally got a hold of someone and they will be out tomorrow. read more

We went to two or three pools companies for a large semi-inground pool and Dunrite was by far the easiest to deal with. There was no hard sell, no knocking of the competition, no bad vibes. The salesman made a recommendation based on our needs and gave us a fair price. He even made a site visit as I was concerned with tree roots and available space. The excavation and installation was top notch and Phillipe had us up and running in no time. I am a pool newbie and he and the team were on hand for weeks and months whenever I had a question. Very patient and helpful, he is a credit and an asset to the company. Even now - a couple of years later I get excellent help whenever I call. So my husband and I just came from Dunrite Pools in Bohemia. As we approached the entrance to the store we were happy to see that there was an extremely large sign stating that noone can enter the store without a mask. We entered and were directed towards the salesman,Dave, who was with a couple who were wearing masks, Dave had no mask. My husband informed Dave that he was immuno-compromised with a medical condition and I requested that Dave put on a mask. He went searcning in his desk for a mask and said "I'm not sure if I have one" but finally found one and put it on. He invited us into his small office but we said we preferred to speak in the showroom ( since he had been in his office without a mask).As we were getting information about the pools, he pulled his mask down. I asked him to please put his mask back on. He said "we're 6 feet apart". My husband and I decided to leave. We informed the workers in the front of the store that we were leaving because Dave wouldn't keep his mask on while he was speaking with us and the woman who works there said "He doesn't wear masks". The Dunrite website says that anyone entering the store needs to wear a mask but Dave, the salesman, does not comply. Even when told that a customer has a medical condition. read more

From destroying my yard during the excavation, to cutting my gas line, and putting the pool too close to the property line, having this company put my pool in was a complete nightmare. Dunrite installed a Loop-Loc cover on my pool. They were professional and the job was perfect. They also closed the pool for free!

So disappointed with this company. Made my appointment to close my pool over the summer and made them aware of the type of pool we had. They called me a few days before to confirm my appointment and take my cc info. The day they were supposed to come and close my pool, they couldn't close it due to the type of pool. Keith was not very friendly over the phone as I was trying to understand why all of the sudden my pool could not be closed and why this information wasn't told to me when the appointment was made or at the time of confirmation of the appointment. Instead of being kind, I was the one given the attitude from him. Granted I was upset by the situation as this company has left me to find someone who has time on their schedule to close my pool before the winter arrives! I understand this company doesn't work with gunite pools, however, this should've been discussed at the time of making the appointment and not the day of the appointment to now leave me hanging to find a different company to close my pool! read more

Love Dunrite. We made a decision late last season to put in a pool. Dunrite came right out, and helped us at every step (needed a survey, extra excavation,etc). Took 4 days total (1 was excavation) to have it completely installed. Everyone was professional, honest and courteous. They do not try to upsell you like a lot of other places, which really earned my trust. In addition, every time I call, they are very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend them! read more

The good bad and ugly..The salesman Dave who sold me my pool is a salesman and a good one. I was told that the pool would be put in and "landscape ready". (means they will dig a giant hole and leave the excess dirt in piles that wasn't backfilled) I was also told that my sprinkler lines would be picked up and put to the side. The excavators came and the machines destroyed my front yard and my sprinkler lines were dug up in the process and destroyed. (Had to have the sprinklers shut off). The pool was put in and turned green in the process of waiting 5 days for the electrical company show up and hook up the filtration system. After the system was hooked up, someone from Dunrite gave me a bullshit tutorial of how the system works..never fully explaining how the system works outside of the program. Things including owner manuals and hoses were never supplied to me. I was told to look it up online. My pool is beautiful and I love it.. be prepared to spend alot more money than the actual pool cost. read more

Brought my DE Filter to Dunrite to have grid cartridges checked out. Staff was fantastic! Small rip was discovered and all cartridges were replaced in a short while. Price was more than reasonable and I couldn't have asked for more helpful staff! Definitely will be back here again! read more

I had a pool Pump installed by Duarte pools today. The pump works great but when I went to add chlorine to the pool I noticed that the two skimmer baskets were broken, one appeared to have been grabbed with a wrench of some sort. When I called Duarte to advise of this situation I was told that the technicians would have no reason to go near the skimmer and therefore took no responsibility. If you're having work done such as I had, make sure you keep an eye on the workers as they can't be trusted to own up to the truth. Good Luck! read more

Decent work, they use fairly decent products, everything is done by subs, but subs have been with them a while. Bad communication, they will show up without calling or not show when they are supposed to. They are combative when you call with a problem. The staff can be arrogant and rude and typically defensive when you ask questions. Overall decent offering, terrible business skills in my opinion. read more

We hired Dunrite pools to put in a inground pool at our home. The salesman was so nice. He explained everything they would need to do, how long it would take, the cost.... He left everything for us to go over and we called him when we were ready. No pressure - loved that ! The crews that were here were very efficient. Its a rather big job, but they made it seem like nothing. We already had one of our friends use them from our recommendation. And they were just as happy as we are. Loving our pool ! read more

Called for a hot tub chemical...bromine granular. Was assured they had it. Bought but it said something different on label. Salesman said it was the same thing i was looking for. I went home...contacted the chemical company and found out salesman was wrong. Called dunrite and was told i was sold the wrong stuff. He said because it is a chemical they are not allowed to take it back BUT he will make an exception and let me exchange it (even though i should get a refund because they screwed up)!
