Came into the store and demoed a pool cleaner. The problem is is that you have young guys working in the store that are not aware of the proper pricing. We were told a specific price for a specific unit I came back in this morning to buy that unit and when it rang up and rang up for a significant amount more than what we were told. The acting manager explained that he had young people working in the store and apologized. I really don't except that is a great answer when I'm spending $1000. Very unhappy. Be very careful with the pricing and who you were dealing with in the store because it's a very big possibility that you're being told the wrong price and basically wasting your time. read more

Joe is the best. He got me out of jam with my old pool service company and now I'll never go anywhere else. I've always used them for chemicals but never knew how good their service was. They diagnosed and repaired the issue and stayed until they knew it was right. Their prices are very reasonable and they never try to upsell you on something you don't need. Water testing is fast and efficient and they'll carry all of your chemicals to your car for you. read more

Sold me a pool filter that i clearly stated was for an intex pool. It was not returnable which they clearly stated.All the more reason you would think they would tell me it would not work for my pool. It did not work for my pool, they cost me $150 bucks and I am stuck with no money, no pool and no filter. I asked and they gave me advice that sucked. Had my pool water tested and was provided chemicals and instructions to treat the pool. Unfortunately, the printed instructions I was given differed from the instructions written down by the store associate. The size of my pool and type we also incorrect on the printed analysis. Finally, I was told that Soda Ash was used to reduce PH when in fact it is used to raise PH and alkalinity. Tried calling the store several times over a 4 hour period to no avail. Had to drive 10+ miles back to the store to clarify instructions. Got a lot of lip service but little satisfaction. I keeping my fingers crossed that I don't screw up my pool water. Time to start looking for a new pool store. read more

We have an in-ground pool; over 20 years. We purchased supplies and services from several chain stores (patronized by irate customers) over the early years. There is a pool store a block away from my home and 2 large chain stores within 1 mile from my home. I started shopping at Dolphin Pool Supply over ten years ago (on my way to work, which was very convenient). It didn't take me long to convince my wife to stop shopping at other pool supply stores; brought her to Dolphin and she too agreed Dolphin is outstanding! Courteous and knowledgeable staff; quality products; they service and repair a variety of products. I've been saving money by not buying cheap chemicals at chain stores. Dolphin always gives me the right advice. Pool openings have been better (spent less money on chemicals) since I switched to their products. I just took off the pool cover two days ago; the water (again) is clear and the chemicals are not too far off. I retired two years ago. Now I make a special 8 mile drive to shop at Dolphin Pool Supply. A tip for Yelp readers: Extend your swimming (exercise) season; consider a wet suit! read more

Don't wreck your Nautilus Dolphin at "Dolphin Pool Supply " in Ronkonkoma! I brought my Dolphin in for climbing ring replacement. I was told it would cost $50 because they would need to disassemble my Dolphin. When I brought my Dolphin home and put it in the pool, it fell apart! I took it back so they could reattach the front roller. I called a few days later and was told by the boss the motor burnt out and it would cost me $400.00!! All I needed was climbing rings attached and my Dolphin was destroyed!! I was told the regular repair guy quit and they were training someone new! Thanks Dolphin Pool Supply for costing me $800 for a new Dolphin. The one they "fixed" was only two years old. Save your money. Shop elsewhere. read more

Needed to get a vacuum head so I could clean my pool in preparation for it to be closed. I normally go to Dunrite pool but I was in the area so I stopped into Dolphin. I checked with Amazon and the price range was $19 - $36 so I figured it couldn't be too far off. I grabbed a vacuum head off the wall to check the price and it said $75.00 !!!! The salesperson confirmed the price so I asked him if he had a small amount of granular chlorine. He brought me to a shelf with a Gatorade sized bottle for $95.00 and a very small pail for $156.00 ????? I told them they were crazy and it was highway ROBBERY!!!! I ordered the vacuum head from Amazon for $22.00 and it is weighted and works great. The guy who owns Dolphin is a CROOK!!!!!! In this economic environment you want to support local businesses but unfortunately there are people like Dolphin that jump at the chance to take advantage for their own gain pathetic and will never set foot in there again and I will share my experience with everyone. read more
