While they did a reasonable job in cleaning and maintaining my pool last summer, they charge way more than most other pool service companies in the area. They also overcharged me for an inadequate pool cover and were very arrogant when I questioned them. Would not recommend or ever use them again. Reply to owner's response: I did not choose the pool cover. As a new pool owner I asked them for the best cover and they provided an inferior one. They charged me $3625 for the cover which sells for $1800 to $2100 from reputable, licensed and insured service companies in the area. Their invoice only stated pool cover and did not detail the type or model number. read more

We worked with Islandia for our weekly pool service and were disappointed beyond belief. We will never work with them again. We paid for a mineral springs system (over $4,000) only to learn that they were using chlorine every week. Dave, the son of the owner, has very very poor customer relations and was rude. The worst is that we paid them for repairs to our system and then had to hire another company to repair their repair. This is the worst pool company on the east end. read more

I purchased my Bullfrog Spa last year from Islandia Pools. I had my previous ThermoSpa for almost 15 years and repaired it 7 times during that period. Every problem I had with the ThemoSpa and every repair I did was typical wear and tear because of the way the spa was engineered. So when it came to purchasing my new Spa I did my research. I looked at manufactures and how they approached the building of their product. I couldn't believe how spot on Bullfrog was in their approach. No wood in the cabinet, 2/3 less plumbing because all the jets are in the removable seats that attach with a one connection not 80 different tubes runing all around the inside of the spa. And a real big plus is that EVERYTHING of import that needs to be serviced is on one side of the cabinet. So having picked the product I started looking for a dealer. I live on long Island, and there are 4 dealers within a reasonable distance. I called each and told them that I had the old spa to take, then I needed to build a new platform for the new spa, then it could be delivered. That was a problem for two of them, one wanted to charge me an extra $1,000 to remove the old spa and then there was Islandia Pools. I called and spoke to Nicole the product manager and told her my problem. That was all it took - She asked me to come down and try some jetpacks, gave me a price that was the least expensive of any of the 4 dealers in the area and most importantly, she made me feel comfortable that they would do whatever it took to get me into my new spa as quickly as possible. She had the owner call me to help with my plans for the new platform and was always there when I facetimed him with my questions. So its been a year since the installation, I use the Spa at least 5 times a week and I couldn't be happier. The jetpacks are really spectacular. I think they have about 16 different packs to choose from. Each one is designed for a different purpose but all that I tried were spectacular. If you are thinking about getting a new spa and this is your first, just remember, whatever the spa comes with in terms of jets is what you have to live with for the rest of the spas lifetime. With the bullfrog, you get to pick and if for some reason you aren't happy just get a relatively inexpensive replacement. I got it with an Ozonator and use chlorine as my disinfectant. That is a combination I highly recommend as it is easy to maintain, chemical costs are very very low and the water is always clean with very little chemical smell. I give this product and Islandia Pools a 5 Star rating as both exceeded my highest hopes for a good experience. read more

I needed to replace my 15 yr old Hotspring Hot Tub with a new Bullfrog A7L spa. The Bullfrog dealers closest to me in Nassau County were not flexible at all on price as well as removing my old spa. I called Islandia Pools and talked to Nicole the Sales manger and I knew right away that this is the dealer I wanted to purchase from. She gave me a great price on the Bullfrog Spa, which was far better than the other dealer's offer. On top of that they took the old tub away and just charged a nominal pass-through fee for disposal. The crew that removed the old tub and installed the new one did an excellent job. Just a great experience and a pleasure to to do business with. Thanks Islandia Pools!!! read more

Like most local pool stores, Islandia will never be the cheapest option however because it is local you'd expect to pay a little more for the convenience. I opened my pool and discovered I needed Hayward DE grids. I knew that I could get the grids online for around $80. but would need to wait a week. Since I wanted them now, I went to Islandia. When I arrived, the people were very nice and I have used Islandia for years. They didn't have my grids but since it was the weekend said they would have them Tuesday and would call with the price. I called the following day (Sunday) and asked if they had the price. They said they would call me back. I called again on Tuesday since they had never called me back and they promised to call on Wednesday with the price. Wednesday I called again since they hadn't called and reached them. They quoted me a price of $500 for the filter grids and they did not have them in stock as they had not ordered them. I obviously hung up and ordered them for $80 online. I would have paid double at ISlandia for the convenience but their blatant price gouging and poor service has cost them my business forever. I am now shopping for a spa which I would have purchased from Islandia but no way am I using them for anything again. read more

A great professional pool store with great Pentair Products!

We purchased a Bullfrog Hot Tub Spa as well as a new electric heat pump for our swimming pool from Islandia Pools in the last two months. Every step of the way was perfect. We began with an exceptional sales process with Nicole (Sales Manager) and John (company owner). They even drove over to our house one Saturday morning to assess whether or not our deck could support the weight of the spa, and help us choose the size and color they would work best with our home. We also did a very fun in-store test soak to select from a wide array of Bullfrog jet packs. Islandia personnel supervised and completed a very professional installation process of both our new pool equipment and the Bullfrog Spa, making sure that everything was perfect. They even coordinated directly with our electrician. Finally, Dave, Melanie and James continue to make sure that all of our pool needs are met on a weekly basis by servicing both our pool and hot tub on a weekly basis. This is a change for our family. We had previously worked with a different pool company. The level of service provided is entirely different from what we had previously experienced. So far, it is outstanding!
