I had a really great experience working with Susanna, the Color Expert in the store. I had been introduced to Dunn Edwards by my Contractor's sales person who told me that I could get a consultation on colors. I initially thought the service wouldn't be useful and that they would just give me some color swatches ... boy I was wrong! I was painting the exterior of my house and I had an idea of what I wanted, but was otherwise overwhelmed with the color options. I made an appointment with Susanna by calling the main # and they transferred me. Susanna helped me put together a few color schemes based on my preferences. The thing that stood out the most is that when I gave her a clear picture of my house, she provided me 3 digital renderings/edited version of my house with the new paint schema! It was amazing and so helpful to see everything on my house. She even did a 4th for me which was what I ended up selecting. Highly recommend using the color specialists in the store! I knew I wanted to paint my office in 2 different shades of gray, but couldn't decide among the overwhelming options. I consulted with Pricilla at this Costa Mesa location and the result is stunning! Pricilla helped me find the exact shades of gray that not only matched my sofa, but are neutral and still warm. I communicated to her I didn't want the cold, steel gray, and she understood right away. She also encouraged me to go slightly darker than my instinct and she was absolutely right. I usually play safe with lighter colors and end up regretting, but not this time. She also recommended velvet finish and my walls looks so elegant! I love love love my neutral shades of gray! Priscilla picked out a third shade of gray for furniture trims and all three colors just look like they came out of Elle Decor! I recommend Priscilla to anyone who needs professional advice on paint type, colors, and finish - believe me, I know how difficult the decision can be. Go to a different location! The people working here have no problem making you wait. Have you ever heard of someone ringing up your paint order before mixing your paint? After ringing me up they told me it will be 15-20 mins. Now I'm stuck here until these guys decide to get on my order! Until then two of them are sitting behind their computer doing who knows what. read more

Slow to take care of customers. As a small business owner I try to use them vs Big Chain Home Improvement stores but the make it hard. It took 30-minutes to buy a can of primer! I ask how much longer to ring me up and then saying this is exhausting. The MANAGER says yes this is exhausting! Get another job, learn customer service and be efficient. Yelp should allow a Zero star rating for places like this. I placed an order the day before and I called to confirm it would be ready but upon my arrival no one knew anything about my order. I waited for 30 minuets to get my paint and the entire time not one employee smiled. Horrible service, it seems like everyone hates their job. read more

I checked to make sure they were open on Sunday. Drove over to the store and it said it was open. Turns out it wasn't in any real sense. Nobody was there except 1 person working and you can only walk about 6 inches into the store. You can't look at anything to figure out what you need. You better know your color and code cause you're not looking at color chips. I'm not sure why it's not safe to go in to an empty store but that seems to be thier deal. They obviously don't want to sell me anything anymore, and I bought a lot last year for a Large commercial project, No thanks, Vista Monday hopefully that have more common sense and want my money. read more

After receiving horrible service from the Tustin location (see my review), I called this location and received excellent service from Jorge Rodarte and Anthony Girthuka who were able to provide us store credit as a non-receipt transaction which we used to purchase paint brushes and rollers in their store (and answered questions related to these items). I went into this store for the first time because i had a job in the area and i needed some paint/primer/etc. The service was exceptional! I was greeted and helped quickly by the friendly staff. The manager which i believe her name was Carmen was also very professional and made sure everything was taken care of and i was 100% satisfied. I can't expect the service at a paint store to rival a 5 star hotel but the people who work here should not be in the paint or service industry. The assistant manager was taking out the 3/4 full trash bin behind the counter while I was waiting to be helped when there were two open registers. The woman who finally helped me was clueless about paint and had to keep asking the one guy there who knew what the heck he was talking about. It took about 30 minutes to get 1 quart of paint mixed and the store was basically empty. I will not be back. read more

I have received excellent customer service from Maria Gasca, Professional Paint Advisor at the Costa Mesa store. She has been extremely kind and patient helping me pick out a new exterior color for my home, as it has been a long process finding the right color. She has a positive attitude and has taken the time to explain everything and if she doesn't know the answer, she asks someone to clarify or for help. clean store and unlike a lot of paint shops it isn't so crazy busy, you get good help here, at least the guy that helped me was really good and understood what i was there for. i liked that the place isn't just packed in with inventory, you can see what is in front of you on the shelves, it is clean and easy to get to off the 405. pricing is the same as sherman williams and others. read more
