My experience is Home Depot has little power or influence over their suppliers. When I made my $35k cabinet purchase I was told I had the full strength and power of Home Depot behind me. After Kitchen Cabinet delivery (Kraftmaid) I found many issues with quality and customer experience. I was told locally by Home Depot, "they are just in the middle". I was also told, "be patient let's see what Cabinetworks Group (CWG) will do". It has been months now and remaining KraftMaid cabinets issues not resolved. To be fair, Home Depot locally will try to make things better. They will keep ordering replacements and CWG will keep sending them (always taking over 4 weeks to ship) on their own timeline, sub-par cabinet parts. My recommendation, do some simple research online and you will see in the last several years a significant increase of customer complaints on quality and craftsmanship with Cabinetworks Group and Kraftmaid. This has been certainly my familys' experience. If you find yourself still wanting to order Kraftmaid cabinets from Home Depot, they will ask for full payment upfront. Do NOT pay full amount upfront. If they refuse to allow a deposit walk away and go to a local cabinet company. There are many in Southern California that have an outstanding reputation.
