Super clean Harbor Freight with great customer service. The store was really well organized and just felt clean and easy to be in. We came in looking for a specific item, and unfortunately they only had one left in a different color, so we ended up leaving without it. That said, we still stayed and browsed aisle by aisle because the store was so organized and enjoyable to walk through. My son thinks he's a little handyman, so he absolutely loved looking at all the tools, and my fiancé was having a good time too. I already know he'll be back. We've visited this location in the past for things we've needed and have even done pickup orders before, so this was another solid experience overall. read more

I keep getting the emails with discount coupons. I don't mind since it gives me a chance to keep up with the newest tools and gadgets. I needed a Foldable Sawhorse to complete a little chore at home and saw just the right coupon for it. The store was not busy and I quickly found the Sawhorse. I like the meandering checkout line. I picked up a Multipurpose Scissors on the way to the counter. David served me today and unfortunately the free gift promo was no longer an item. We did find by the phone digits that I had a customer number. My credit card purchase was good and using the coupon I saved $4.00. Time to get that project finished. You know what you're getting into, there's no surprises, but for the average person or simple repair situation the items here are potentially beyond the need or expectation. I was looking for a bike rack for my SUV. I went online and someone recommended HFT. I found exactly the style I was looking for: A rack that attaches to an existing trailer hitch so no drilling is required. In addition, the price was $44.99! The price was at least $100 less vs others I saw online. HFT has numerous locations. The location I visited is on the border of Westminster & Huntington Beach. There was plenty of parking, and the salesperson who assisted me was super helpful. He also signed me up for their periodic emails, so I can keep apprised of deals in the future. The store is little smaller than the one on Harbor Blvd in Garden Grove. However, they have a large selection. I usually come here whenever I need some basic tools for minor fix in the house & for my school projects. Most of their staff I've encountered are friendly & helpful. They have helped me locate the items every time I asked. BTW, on their website, if you go to a specific store location, it shows the aisle at which the items are located; if you want to be more time-efficient. The price is reasonable & affordable. I am not a professional, hence I cannot comment on the quality of their professional tools. The basic items (OBD II code reader, cordless drill & bits, screws, wrench, digital multimeter, etc.) I have got from their store are pretty decent & durable. read more

The store was very clean I was a little intimidated at first because it seems small but when you walk in there you can see that it has a very long narrow profile but what really impressed me was Mario, this man was very efficient he knew right away that I was lost he could tell after seeing me wander around for about three minutes while he was helping other customers that I needed some good old fashion help... Store return policy is garbage and antiquated. I returned an unused $23 gardening tool with receipt and well within their 90 day window. At the minimum they needed either an ID or my name, address, and phone number to process the return. Why do you need this much info? Isn't my receipt enough? Get with the times! Stores don't require this much info unless you don't have a receipt, it's outside the return window, or something questionable. I can understand if it were a big ticket item like $100 power tool (with receipt) why they may want more information (to track patterns of frequent returns by the same customers). But the same effort for a $23 pitchfork? Come on. Maybe I am a little sensitive because two credit cards were recently fraudulently applied for under my name and address. Or maybe some dingbat at Corporate thought it would be a good idea to require customers and store employees to go through this extra effort to discourage returns? Well let me remind you that cheaters are gonna cheat! Don't focus your policy on the 1%. You will not grow your business that way. At least not you won't be getting my money any more. read more

Great service and a variety of all your automotive and home needs. Though the plethora of coupons have stopped being mailed, you can still get them via email if you register your phone number. I would highly recommend for coupons as wells as to record your receipts. Clean, well organized for efficient check out on the days that I have gone. Staff have always been helpful. This review is only from today's visit, every other time I have been in this place I have had great service. I know this seems trivial but in the email notice I have received in the last couple days, it mentions free bucket with purchase of more than $29. Well, I went today, bought $60 worth of product and was never offered a bucket. I asked after everything was rung up and the only cashier at the checkout, was insistent that he need to know that I wanted a bucket before he rung up the total. There were no less than 10 people tapping their toes and clearly irritated either at me for asking for a bucket or the cashier who wouldn't just give me a bucket without backing out the entire purchase and re-processing the entire order again. Seems like it would have been so simple to just hand me a bucket and not make a big deal out of it. The cashier said that he couldn't give out a bucket without 1st seeing the coupon or email I received and then having to back out the purchase and redo the order to scan the free bucket into the purchase. I finally told the cashier not to bother, but I told him he probably should have asked before it was too late if I wanted one like they did the day before when my son was there purchasing product as well. I know it seems like such a minor thing to complain about but as I watched at least 2 other people walk out of the store right behind me with buckets, it just pissed me off and left a bad taste about the cashier and how he handled it. read more

Went in to purchase packing materials. Standing in line behind 2 other customers. After they were helped and it was my turn the Asian cashier lady took someone ale that was standing in the isle. I asked her what about me. She rudely answered lines over there! I said oh I'm sorry but you took the other 2 gentlemen in front of me in this line. She ignored me. Next register was open that cashier told me "lines down that isle" I said there's no signage! And personally being a business owner I would of just accommodated me and done on from there. Folks, this is the place to buy some items for the average DIY dad or hardcore mom. If you are a professional then may be not everything would be for you but...big but yes there are items you can buy at a fraction of price elsewhere. Today, after finding item by googling it I determined harbor freight at $32.99 vs $300+ is the best option for a hitch mount bumper step. You all know it's easier to get up on a truck if you got a step. Well, this will be it whenever I'm washing the trucks and I need they boost up to the bed. In closing, you do find useful items here furthermore, they also got metal tight downs instead of zippy tight downs to help secure your truck tail gate so it won't be easily unsnapped and stolen. Sneaky Non Return Policy, attempted to return sealed package, non return only marked in small print on receipt. Items marked on shelf as sale, so is 50 percent of everything in the store. Manager would not exchange, or give store credit. This is very poor customer service. I spent a ridiculous amount of money here and was only looking for simply swapping out to items with a similar price. Lesson learned. read more

I am so upset and disappointed. I was spending over $1,600 on tools and since I am considered "vulnerable" due to the COVID-19. I called and asked if I could order and pick up without having to go in the store. The manager refused! He said I would need to come in, place the order then come back 2 weeks later to pick it up if I choose to not get it delivered. The delivery is over $200. I said to limit my time of exposure and exposing others if I could please place the order over the phone then go pick it in 2 weeks. He said no without care or compassion. A bit heartless and cold. Jeff the employee at this Harbor Freight store is the worst employee I've ever met. He's condescending and just a horrible person. I'm in line here watching him berate customers and telling people they got in the wrong line after he watched them stand in the wrong line for checkout and not say anything until they get to the front. He has to announce things loudly so all the other customers can hear while he humiliates every costumer. He told one lady her coupon was expired months ago. He told another costumer that her photo of the coupon was not an actual coupon and then made sure everybody in the store could hear him. She knew he wouldn't help her find a coupon so she just got in the line again so that the nice Asian lady who also worked at the other register would take the time to help her look for it on her phone. He spent ten minutes berating her instead of just helping her. If you are looking for mean people who hate costumers this is the type of employee you hired with Jeff. What a sad pathetic person who must hate his job to have to take it out on other people like that. You lost a costumer today. read more

It's so awesome they always have things in stock here and the workers are really knowledgeable and friendly. The store is well organized and clean. So I buy a lot of tools from these guys and they typically do what they say they are supposed to do (at least for some limited amount of time) which is what brings me to this review. I went into this store (Monday 1/4/2016 @ 1:25pm) with two identical tire inflation tools that I'd bought here over the last 2 or 3 years (Item #68270) that were literally falling apart. I asked the girl behind the counter if she could warranty them and she called her manager to the front counter to make the call on whether or not they would be warranty items. The girl who came to the counter was a young girl about 18 and who took a quick look at them and asked me when I bought them and if I had a receipt. Fair questions; I didn't lie to her, I told her I didn't know when I bought them and I told her that I didn't have a receipt. She immediately told me that she couldn't do anything for me and walked away. So this is what there warranty says: "We guarantee our Hand Tools to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the life of the product. Limitations apply. Harbor Freight Tools will replace any hand tool that fails to properly work during the lifetime of the original purchaser." (I copied that from their website) She should have honored that warranty as described based on that point because the reason they both failed is the material of the hose fell apart! I guess you could dispute the fact of this being a hand tool or not but it's a tool made to fit in your hand that requires musculature of the hand with dexterous fingers to operate it so it is a hand tool. So I mentioned that I brought 2 of these things in, which means I buy from your store fairly regularly. I give up my information to you freely when asked at the cash register when using coupons to make sure that I get your coupons again but you can't keep track of my purchases? You can look me up by my customer number, why can't you see A) I buy a lot of tools from you and B) When I made the purchase of these items??? SHAME ON YOU! It's called simple CRM and you are far too big of a company not to understand my frustration! Then the other side of this transaction... I had to buy a replacement for these tire inflators because I have to put air in tires. When I was checking out the cashier asked for my phone number (which NO ONE DEALING WITH MY ASK TO RETURN DID) and then addressed me by name and asked me if I wanted to buy the extended warranty on this one. Long story short is I wasn't happy with the transaction and your employees could have turned that around at several points in the time I was in the store but didn't. The worst part is I just spent 20 minutes venting about less than $20 worth of product. I should have saved the headache and went to Sears and bought CRAFTSMAN. Lesson learned read more

Harbor Freight is a great place to pick up cheap/inexpensive tools/hardware for whatever it is that you need. I was able to find goggles for Chem class here for about $2. It was so economical, I stockpiled a couple more and resold it to the other students in class (who failed to acquire their own goggles) for nearly five times the profit (supply and demand yo!). They have all sorts of different stuff and the best part is the prices are amazing! Obviously you're thinking - "well you get what you pay for" - I was thinking the same thing and expecting the stuff I got here to fall apart after a few uses - but everything seems to be pretty durable/reliable since purchase. Considering the price-point, its not so much of a huge investment if you buy something that only lasts a few uses. Check your local flyers for any coupons. HFT often runs ads in the paper/circulars where you can save even more off your purchase or score a freebie (with purchase). Customer service seems fairly decent, I didn't run into any problems and was greeted when I entered the store. read more

I came looking for an air compressor. I found one that was within my price range. Unfortunately, the salesperson was terrible. He curtly told me where the item was supposed to be, which it wasn't. There was no one else working the store. After searching the entire store for 10 minutes, I found it with some unrelated stuff. Anyway, this is not the kind of service I expected from HFT. This tool place chain has been popping up all over southern Cali. They sell cheap tools on the cheap. Mostly everything is made in China. If you are in a pinch and need some tools for a quick fix these will do the job. They have crazy specials all the time and many times free stuff or free stuff with a purchase.
