Shopper Beware!!!! The staff were not very friendly and pretty much ignore me when I walked in. I only needed 1 quart of their Emerald Urethane Trim paint but the representative told me it only comes in 1 gallon so I had no choice but to buy the gallon which cost $120. I went to another Sherwin William store today for another color in the same paint and they sold me 1 quartz in which apparently it comes in for $50. I just check their online website and it does come in 1 quartz. This location on Brookhurst in Garden Grove is shady so beware if you shop there. If you are not a Professional then go to another Sherwin William store if you need this paint. Sherwin William is one of the best paint out there and I have been using it in my home for over 20 years with no problem and have not need to repaint it. I have just been changing colors at certain room. Unfortunately this location is giving Sherwin William a bad name. read more

It's ridiculous that they don't have small samples of their paints. They are only offering a quart for $12. If you want to compare a handful of colors you will have a gallon of hazard waste that needs to be disposed of. They should really offer something substantially smaller, e.g. the size of a condiment package. read more

Do not shop here! I had a large project painting the Nike building in LA and I had to purchase extra (untinted) paint just in case I needed more because Sherwin Williams has an inventory issue like many other companies... After using many, many gallons of paint i had 5 gallons (of untinted) paint leftover... SuperPaint interior velvet Sheen... but load and behold, Jesus the manager doesn't want to return it! Jesus said something like "I have too much of this and I don't want to return it" ... "this is how I run the store and it's MY policy"... wtf? I had spend a long time to find out who's his superior manager is and they finally talk. Jesus, after he was done talking to his superior... he goes into the restroom and makes me wait even longer... then finally he shows up to the counter to make the return!... What a horrible, horrible experience and customer service! I've been to many, many paint stores and this by far has to be the worst experience... why would I take time to write a review about a paint store?! After I had a handyman do some work, he dented, chopped and nicked a few area. The walls were painted just 2 months ago and I stupidly tossed or gave away a bunch of old paint not realizing some cans were new. The guys here matched my paint almost perfectly. I can barely tell it was repainted. I will have to wait til it dries to be sure. Using a paint roller was the best way to blend and feather to the old paint. I'm not good with names but the guy who helped me out was very nice and helpful. read more

What kind of customer service do you expect when you go into a paint store?! Because now that Benjie has set this sort of expectation, it is going to be hard to compete. THANK YOU, BENJIE, and you keep doing what you do! We wanted to add some color to the house, and this was the perfect weekend to get it done. I had a Dunn-Edwards fan deck, so we were at home last night to select which colors we wanted for which wall. We were going to go to Home Depot to pick up the paint, but we saw a coupon for Sherwin Williams -- $10 off $50! We walked in, and Bennie asked if we needed any help. We said we were just looking for color, and so to let him know if we needed any help. After awhile of finding the colors, it was harder than we expected. Bennie came back and saw that we were color matching to the Dunn-Edwards and said that they can do color matches and he can make the Dunn Edwards paint! No idea that paint companies did that, but he said all of the major paint companies can make each other's paints. I guess it kills the competition??, but we were happy to hear! We chose a Dunn Edwards deep gray-blue and couldn't find an equivalent that we liked for Sherwin Williams. But we ended up also picking a S-W warm gray for the corridors. We asked him about the paint and how much we should need, and he helped us with what type of paint would be best for the space we were painting. He ended up recommending the Emerald paint so the primer is included, so we only need to paint once. He was also really helpful and knowledgeable. He asked because it was an accent wall, what finish we want with it? Satin? Matte? Gloss? And he went over and explained the differences that even the matte finish still has a very small glossiness to it if you look at it from the side. The satin finishes also have a better scrub-ability. If you have kids and they get the walls dirty, it's better paint for you to scrub/clean. We ended up going with the matte finish which was perfectly what we wanted. Then when we were checking out, he kept scanning and rescanning things, and it turns out Benjie was trying his best to save us some money with everything we were buying! In the end, we were both very happy that such good customer service is out there! If we need anymore paint in the future, definitely coming by Sherwin Williams and seeing if Benjie is working! I'm amazed this store has such a high rating. The online hours said the store is open, but when I arrived at 12:15, the doors were locked. There are no hours posted in the window. The lights were on, so I called the store number, but there was no answer. After only 10 minutes, a girl unlocks the door. Mind you, the "open" sign remains turned off. I walk in and ask her if she wants me to turn on the open sign, she says, "it doesn't work." Okay. I enter with the intent of using the coupon to pick up a free gallon of paint (that was given as a link to a page that I enter a code into). When I tell the employee this, she says, "I don't know if I can take that coupon." I asked if she could scan it, at which she looks at it and says, "the coupon says 2019, I can't use it if it's expired." 2 for 2 on trying not to help me... I look at the coupon and tell her that I just printed it a few days ago and that 2019 isn't the date, it's the copyright for the S-W's logo. I ask if she can check the generated number that's written on the coupon (a number that is unique to me). She responds, "I don't think I can. I'm sorry. I can't do anything until I know if it's expired or not." At this point, I'm looking through my phone to find the link, to the email, to the website, to the coupon on Sherwin-Williams' page. She takes a phone call on the work line and says, "Sherwin-Williams, this is Leslie." This is the first I hear her name. She gets off the call and asks if I have an account with them, and I said that it's likely I do if I had to enter information to get the coupon activated. I give her my phone number and she looks it up. "It's not in our system, I can't help you if you don't have an account." Yes, I'm upset, but I'm finding the humor in the moment and I say, "you've said 'can't' to me 4 times now." She responds with, "well, it is what it is." Yes, now I just want to walk out and leave this rating, but I need my paint. I log into my new home portal, I find a few different paints they used for the interior. I narrow it down based on description. I say, here, it's this one. She looks it up, and says, "We don't have that here. You'll have to try another store." Leslie, if you're reading this... I made it clear when I told you how many times you said 'can't'; I wanted you to help, not hinder. Why did you make me ask... "can you check and see if another store has it in stock?" Well, here I am, in the parking lot of another store, waiting to pick up my paint, because I'm so annoyed that I don't want to take it out on this store. They aren't Leslie. They probably like their job. They probably understand the importance of human interaction and customer service. They probably have an 'open sign' that is working, like them, like Leslie wasn't. read more

This was my favorite place to go to all summer. It's comparable to going to Disneyland except this place might be better because it's less crowded, has free coffee, and CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING. Every employee is really kind and helpful. Jay helped me out THE MOST. He recommended the best paint for my needs and when he did convince me to get a more expensive paint for one of my projects, it was because he cared about the fact that I lack experience and would need a higher quality paint instead of struggling with something cheaper. Never go to big box stores for paint, (Behr premium is not very good) they have good stuff here that is worth every penny! read more

Prices are a tad high but they have a lot of promotions. Sometimes 30-40% off if you can catch it. That makes it worthwhile. I talked to Ben and he was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. read more
