What a really nice group of people working at this Dunn Edward's in Costa Mesa! From the beginning I made a phone call to the store and the man that answered the phone was very kind and helpful. I was stressed because our home was being insulated at the time and we ran out of paint to cover the patches on the walls! The DE crew not only took care of my paint right away they were very friendly and also helped me by taking the paint to my car. I love the paint colors we use from this store. We have used this location so many times and have such success with the paint indoors and out. I will be using them again in the very near future. I am beyond upset with this location. I bought a bunch of samples to test on my daughters wall. We picked a color that was 75% of the original color. I took this sample in so that the location could see the exact color that was mixed that we liked. The girl behind the counter asked if we wanted the same paint and I asked what my options are. She said they were between the quality of my sample of a little higher quality. I said I'd like the higher quality. I sat and waited for my paint-20 mins-to be mixed. I got home and realized that I didn't get the paint I was told I was getting, so I called. The woman that answered said no problem they'd fix it and have it done when I got in. 2 mins later, another person from the store called and said that there's nothing wrong with the quality that I have, that it too was a high quality paint. I had already looked up the difference online -which I stated and I wanted the higher quality one. I wait at my house so that I wouldn't have to wait when I get to the store. I walked in and again, I was made to feel that I was the one in the wrong. That I said I wanted the suprema. Which I didn't. I know what I said. In addition, I was then feeling that the paint that they mixed wasn't the 75%. Which in fact it turns out it was shot at 100% of the color. To which again I said, the only reason for me bringing in the sample was for me to get the exact color that was made for me. What I don't get and what pisses me off is how I was made to feel that I did something wrong, that I didn't ask for what I asked for. I said, the only reason I brought in the sample was to ensure this fact. If I had wanted the 100% I simply would've said, I want ......whatever the colors name was. It's infuriating that I, the customer who asked for what I wanted, was made to feel that I'm in the wrong and that I'm to blame for their mistake. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!!!!! read more

I would avoid this location at all costs. The people working there are very rude and condescending. They, the workers speak poorly about the customers ( in Spanish, right in front of them). It seems they could care a less if you want to purchase paint or not. Clearly the management needs to improve greatly. I have been a DE customer for over 30 years. We have been a general contractor now for 33 years at Farthing Development Inc.. Dunn Edwards was always a long distance from us. They first built the store on Bristol and later built the new store on Newport.. The Newport store is just great John, Mark, and Veronica are great people and do their job well. When they are busy we work together and get the products I need ASAP. I call in my orders and when they say they will be done they are.. Have known Veronica from back in the Wallpaper days. We were a distributor of Dunn Wall coverings in our Showroom back in the 80's. She has always gone out of her way to make sure that we are taken care of. The only short fall at this point has been inventory. They just remodeled the store and corporate changed the shipping system. So I am sure these changes will affect the low inventory.. Great work GUYS (and gals) hope to do 32 years more business. And don't let Mark go on vacation any more.... LOL read more

Dunn-Edwards is a company I only use if I have to color/paint match from the previous work done. Or if the painters I hired use them...which a lot of them do if they are from the OC. Every time I come here the staff is really nice and they get me what I need fairly quickly. It would be faster if I called ahead, but again I don't buy bulk from them so that's the situation I'm in. But the mixer still squeezes me in when he was completing a scheduled large job. This year I've been to this location only 5-10 times, since I've dealt with several projects in their area. I have to mention not all Dunn-Edwards locations are the same in terms of customer service. And I've been to several of them. read more

I visited Emily at the Color Consultation desk and she was great! Emily was professional, friendly, and had a trained eye to help me pick out paint colors for my new home. I recently visited Dunn-Edwards because I needed to match a color for my house. Not only they did a great job, the color was matched to perfection. The staff was so helpful and they gladly answered all my questions. I was so impressed with the quality of their service that I decided to work with their color consultant since I am planning on repainting my house interior. I made the appointment and worked with both their color consultant, Judy, and their new trainee, Andrea. Both of them were incredibly helpful. First they listened to what I had in mind and the reasons why I wanted to go with lighter colors. I brought swatches of my couch and chairs, a list of the colors I currently have, and slowly we went through every room in the house. Not only, they were very patient but most important, they paid attention to what I wanted. They had good suggestions, we discussed the different options and after one hour of going back and forth, I had a great selection of colors. Dunn Edwards has good paint in general. But the costa mesa site has terrible service. The first time I went there, I walked in and kept looking for someone to help me, but ALL the personnel walked past without giving me a second glance. I had to get in line at the cashier to get someone to answer my question. The second time I went, I had made an appointment with their paint color specialist. I showed up for the appointment 5 minutes early but ended up waiting 35 minutes before I finally gave up and left, because she had a customer and when I tried catch her attention, she ignored me. The store in Tustin has good service, but I'll never go to the one in Costa Mesa again. read more

I recently visited and the atmosphere and treatment was different plus it took me over an hour for my paint. When inquired where he went the said he changed locations.
