He decided to branch out and make a tiny donut shop, so we wanted to swing by and give him a try. The shop is small, designed more for your pick up and go crowd. The signage is a little small, so you will need to know where to go to find it. The selection of donuts is akin to specialty cookie shops. They keep a standard selection of doughnuts on demand but also rotate out a few types to keep things fresh. You order your doughnuts with the cashier, and then get to watch your doughnuts get dipped and packed right in front of you. We got a dozen of these little doughnuts. Took our pics then dug in. As a doughnut, they are good. They are a cake doughnut with a little vanilla in the batter to give it a mellow buttery floral flavor note. Not majorly noticeable, but just enough to make it better than just straight up cake. The best bite was the strawberry shortcake. Fresh strawberries with a light whipped cream gives that flavor profile one would expect from a very solid strawberry shortcake. The rest were of varying states of okay for the toppings. The maple bacon was good, the local maple glaze was very maple forward and tasty. The bacon crumbles needed to be cooked more. They were a little too soft and chewy for that style of doughnut. The doughnuts with chocolate syrup needs a better chocolate syrup. Would probably replace with a chocolate drizzle instead. Would hold up better if not eaten immediately. Some of the glazes were not made in house, and were a bit too strong for some of the other toppings on them. They will need to figure out a way to tweak these glazes to not be overpowering. As a destination spot I would expect an elevated product, and this shop is not set up to be elevated just yet. It's set up to be a local morning doughnut place, which is valid but will need to fight to get people to see them. There's some promise to this business idea. They will need to commit to either a boutique tiny doughnut shop or a local pick up and on demand delivery spot. Either one could work, but they need to find their footing first. For those interested in trying this place, it's a good spot for a little sweet treat. Stick to the non-chocolate flavors, get enough to share, and enjoy!

And that adorableness comes in twenty flavor varieties - peanut butters, candies, fruits, cookies, and of course...chocolates. They cost between $1 and $1.20 each depending on the quantity you want. I bought a box of fifteen for $15. I had some time to kill before my appointment in Rocky Hill, so I also ordered a small coffee, lemon, and almond donut to enjoy on site. Now that's easier said than done because the store is small and only has a counter with two stools. Luckily, both were vacant so I settled in, drank their excellent freshly made coffee (small for $3.50) and savored my little donut treats. We ordered a 8 pack of mini donuts and 2 protein doughnuts. The mini doughnuts came in a myriad of flavor combos. Those flavors were pronounced, the base is a cake doughnut so it's spongy but light. It's a good cake doughnut, but I'm not really a fan of cake style doughnuts. For me, cake doughnuts need to be right out the oven to be good. These were made recently, but cooled significantly and not to my preference. The protein doughnuts were dipped fresh. They were not much different in terms of consistency but it's a much denser doughnut and a bit of chew because of the protein powder. It also has the aftertaste of sunflower shells that health products tend to have. Not unpleasant, but makes it taste like standard "healthy" products It's not bad, but it's also not great. For the price is right for the quality, and it's one of the few dessert options for the area. It's worth a try if you're around or if you really like cake doughnuts, but I wouldn't trek there.

We found them in a small shopping center with plenty of parking on East Main Street (Route 202). The dining room is modestly sized with four tables. We saw they have about a dozen bagel flavors (including French Toast and Cranberry), six cream cheeses, seventeen breakfast sandwiches (including Ribeye Steak and Roast Beef), twelve Specialty Sandwiches (including some cool names like Pastrami Crispy and Big Boy Cheese), plus muffins, hash browns, and coffees - plenty of coffee choices. Yes, they have a Latte, Cappuccino, and Macchiato, but what distanced them from ordinary bagel store coffees (at least in my mind), was the hit parade of twenty-nine flavored coffees - spanning the alphabet from Amaretto and Almind Joy to Salted Caramel and Sweet Irish Cream. We ordered at the counter from Leonora, a very engaging and friendly host. Our order was simple -an Everything Bagel with Veggie Cream Cheese, an Everything Bagel with Scallion Chive Cream Cheese, a small coconut coffee and a small Chocolate Banana coffee. Everything ran a teense under $15. Our coffees were made first, a few minutes later, our bagels were ready, so we sat down at one of the tables and dug in. My first observation was that the bagel itself was large and was served warm, as though it had recently come out of the oven. It had plenty of tasty Scallion Chive Cream Cheese. The combination of the warm bagel, the cream cheese, and the savory taste of the Everything seasoning and bits of scallions combined for a real taste treat. And when I took a sip of my coffee, my breakfast zoomed into another dimension because that Chocolate Banana Coffee was amazing, I mean it was terrific. I loved the distinct banana and chocolate flavors. As we enjoyed our meal, we saw a steady stream of walk-in customers and food delivery pickups. We noted that when a Grub Hubber or Door Dasher came in to pick up an order, the drinks were made in real time, not pre-poured. This meant the coffees would be delivered as hot as possible, and the cold drinks wouldn't be watered down by melted ice. There were so many nice things we experienced at Lola's. So being in the area, decided to come here and pick up some donuts for the ride home. We got here late in the day, and they were out of almost everything when I got there. I managed to get a churro and matcha donut. I then saw they did a Dubai chocolate strawberry cup, and had to give that a try as well ( they only do the cup on the weekends) The donuts were very fresh, light and chewy. They are high in price but much better in quality compared to other places I've tried. The Dubai strawberry cup had a kind of weak chocolate sauce over them. Not the cheapest stuff on the market, but not strong or mellow like the expensive chocolates. The strawberries were fresh, and the Dubai part needed a little salt to counteract the sweet and enhance the earthy. Inside is well decorated but dirty. All the tables were dirty, there's lots of dust and other ditritus when I was waiting for my dessert. It was end of day, so I get why they would not be fully clean. But there's some repairs that need to get done and there's cracks in the facade. Despite the lack of donuts, the quality was good and the Dubai strawberries were a nice sweet treat. Aside from the pastries I ordered a mango fruit tea with passion fruit popping boba and I was a bit underwhelmed. The flavor of the fruit tea is lacking a bit but I feel my taste buds were a bit altered after so many sweet treats.
