Small, quaint coffee shop vibes with a focus on tea drinks and Asian-inspired sweets -- especially know for their mochi donuts. We tried four donut flavors: Matcha Black Sesame Buttercream Ube Strawberry Cookie Monster They rotate flavors weekly (every Wednesday), so if something catches your eye -- grab it before it's gone! Each donut runs about $4.25. A bit pricy if I may say so. We want to try the taiyaki but the machine was down during my visit. Now... the donuts were actually my least favorite. The base of each tasted more like plain fried dough, and the toppings though creative were a bit too sweet for me. It would be great if the flavors were incorporated into the dough itself (imagine an actual matcha or strawberry-infused base instead of just a topping). What did impress me though? The soft serve. My friend got the Ube, and it was so good I went back for my own -- this time, the Ube + Matcha swirl, dove in and forgot the picture. Silky, rich, and vibrant in color and taste. You can truly taste the quality. The Ube had that nutty, vanilla-like profile while the Matcha balanced it with its earthiness -- neither was bitter, just perfect! Overall, Cha Papi is a cute little spot to sit, work, or catch up with friends. Go for the soft serve -- and maybe the donuts for the aesthetics.

I love stopping into Cha Papi when I'm in the area! It has such a chill vibe to sit and enjoy your drink (or ice cream!) and their employees are super nice. Sometimes I need help getting an order to my car and they're always willing to run it out to me if I call or carry it out with me. While they maybe don't have a100 different drink options, what they do have are thoughtful and well made. My go to is usually a strawberry matcha with boba, but I will often get one of their seasonal specials. I love their donuts too! They have fun rotating flavors and theyre so soft with that perfect mochi chew. I usually can't help myself and order one (or two) with my drink, but on Halloween I always get an order that includes one of each because they're sooo cute! We eat them with our friends while we hand out candy!

Good sweets and treats, pricy Had to pick up some supplies so happened to be in the area. Decided to give this place a try, looked very trendy. There was a slew of fresh mochi donuts, no ice cream so I couldn't get the namesake fish cone. So I opted for the Dubai chocolate strawberries instead. Along with a couple drinks. The drinks were very strong on the sugar, but tasty. Not overly saccharine, but heavy handed for sure. The donuts were light and chewy, topping laden and fresh. The Dubai chocolate strawberries were kind of like a purely decadent fruit parfait with gobs of chocolate and pistachio butter layered throughout. The phyllo dough crunch was a welcome texture, and the strawberries were plump and ripe. The chocolate was not thinned, so it actually set up as we ate it. Made it a little tricky to eat towards the tail end. Pricing was high, the Dubai strawberries were 17 bucks alone. Donuts were pricy, drinks were 6-8 bucks. They definitely charge for the location and the prestige. But the quality is good, just high. It's one of the few dessert dedicated places, and they do a good job. It's good to try if you're in that neck of the woods and you're in the mood for sweets.

"Oh, Daddy You soothe me with your smile You're letting me know You're the best thing in my life" (Fleetwood Mac) If you are as curious as I was about the meaning of "Cha Papi", you'll be relieved to know that it translates into "Tea Daddy". That's because Cha Papi specializes in a rainbow of teas, chais, coffees, matchas, and lattes. But best of all, since July 2023, they sell some of the very best mochi donuts you ever feasted on. These pretty rice flour-based doughnuts are light as a feather, aren't greasy at all, and look, feel, and taste more like an artistic delicacy than a traditional donut. Cha Papi sells a rotating menu of six different flavors with a homemade glaze that is yummy but not sickingly sweet. Today's offerings were Guava Cheesecake, Matcha Oreo, Dulce De Leche Churro, Chocolate Cake, Blueberry Lemon, and Strawberry Funnel Cake. Yeah, you can stop drooling over those flavors. We went with four donuts for a little over $4 apiece. It was rough narrowing down their six choices, but our Final Four were Guava Cheesecake, Matcha Oreo, Chocolate Cake, and Blueberry Lemon. Each one was amazing in its own right, from the Oreo crumbles on the macha to the delicate lemon piping on the blueberry glaze. Cha Papi also serves taiyaki,- quite the decadent dessert. They're a Japanese waffle-like fish-shaped pastry filled with red bean paste or custard and served with soft-serve ice cream and toppings like caramel, chocolate, condensed milk, sprinkles or Oreo crumbles. Maybe next time, we'll give 'em a go. Oh, before I forget, gotta give a shout out to the two sweet young ladies we interacted with and answered our questions about the flavors. You'll find Cha Papi in West Hartford's Shield Street Plaza with the legendary A Dong Supermarket, the Shu Chinese restaurant, and the Vietnamese restaurant Pho Boston. A local newspaper called the plaza "West Hartford's Chinatown" and that sure seems right on the money.

I went shopping at A Dong Supermarket and had to stop by this mochi donut shop on the way out. Inside looks clean and inviting. The staff were nice and there were plenty of seating. We got some drinks and donuts and we were happy about it. I got the mango jasmine frasca and I enjoy the jasmine taste to the drink. We got all 6 flavors and it was all delicious. My favorite was the tres leche. They change their flavors every Wednesday and looking forward to trying more flavors. It is a great place to stop by and get a sweet treat.

Ambiance is very clean, modern and chic. Very quiet when I went in and there were other patrons enjoying drinks and treats while working quietly. Service is very good and quick. My iced guava/mango jasmine tea was very refreshing. I got a Biscoff mochi donut and it was delicious. I'll definitely be back for more treats in the future.

Saw this spot on Insta, and bookmarked it on Yelp. I happened to be in the neighborhood and took the opportunity to see what the hype was about. Chap Papi is a cool location, that to be honest doesn't really fit in this plaza. It's kinda out of place. It is a cool, trendy place with some good donuts! Glad I saw it on Insta and was able to check them out for myself.

The last time I was in the area, I missed trying this spot. I so happen to be in that area again two Friday's ago & just decided to make a quick stop. Upon entering it was fairly quiet. I began to look at the menu as I'd never been there, didn't look prior to entering. I felt as the staff that was on site that day seemed nice but could've been a bit more welcoming. It was very awkward but I didn't think much of it nor let it bother me. I ended up deciding to just take it to my car instead of sitting inside. I asked the staff what they'd recommend, they provided me with 2 options that are popular. I ended up going with the UBE latte with oat milk & tapioca boba. I very much enjoyed this drink & thought it was really good. Personally I wasn't a fan of the tapioca boba pearls, no bueno... I also decided on trying their mochi donuts, 2 of them because why not? I heard from a family member that their donuts were stale on one of their visits & that they're only good when fresh but everyone's experience is different. My mochi donuts this day, were out on the counter, & they didn't taste stale. They were actually pretty good, & tasted just like their flavors. This establishment is one I think you should try, at least once. I'll be back to try more mochi donut flavors, as well as their other drink options.

The tea store has a modern vibe with really nice décor. Visiting from NYC, I'd say their prices are definitely more affordable compared to the city. I tried the chrysanthemum tea with lychee jelly, and it was delicious--refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. The staff were super friendly and gave great recommendations. I'll definitely be coming back!

Mochi donuts! Black sesame was our fave :)

A very cute and tasty stop! The donuts, ice cream, and drinks are all very good. I love going here for my birthday - I usually eat at Pho Boston next door and get donuts to go from Cha Papi. Definitely recommend a visit here!

Since my initial review I have been to cha papi several times for their drinks and mochi donuts. I have especially enjoyed their matcha lattes and seasonal sakura matcha lattes-- they have a good ratio of matcha to milk, and while sweet they are not too sweet. The donuts are always consistently tasty, and I love their creative rotating weekly menus. I also appreciate the effort the cafe puts into being a third space in our community-- with poetry nights, book clubs and markets and even a little library of books available to read when you visit. I also appreciate their acknowledgment of nurses week and grabbed a matcha after my shift. Overall a boon to the community.

Love the Dubai chocolate cup from here! So worth it when you are craving it. 10/10 delicious in a cup.

Cha Papi is located in the same plaza as A Dong market. There were plenty of parking since it's a big lot. The shop was charming; the ambiance was that of a coffee shop. I wanted to try out the taiyaki soft serve but they said it would take about 10 minutes to cook. I didn't feel like waiting so that will be a next time thing. The taiyaki is a fish shaped soft cone; the soft serve flavors were matcha green tea and ube purple yam. I've had it in Miami and loved it, so looking forward to trying it out here soon. They also serve lattes and milk teas. This time I opted for the raspberry cheesecake mochi donut; wow, that is five stars alone. The chewy and light dough melted in my mouth. It is pricey but I'd say it is worth it ($4.25). Service was quick and friendly. Next time, I want to try out their Ube latte, brown sugar latte, strawberry matcha latte, and taiyaki soft serve. I may need to go quite often and soon to try this laundry list of items.

Matcha was not good. The cafe is cute but the ingredients are not quality. The matcha is not ceremonial grade. Our barista was very helpful.

They have plenty of seating, some upholstered furniture and we saw a few Friday morning telecommuters working on their laptops and sipping their coffees. Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). We loved our visit to the Coffee Guy, and I was so impressed by the total experience, I just subscribed to their newsletter. So the next time we're looking for a midday break or afternoon pick-me-up..... I know a guy!

Walking in, immediately greeted by the owner. The place is very much a family owned and run location. The place is smaller but lots of comfy couches and modern decorations. The menu was a mix of breakfast hits. They know they are a smaller shop, do they highlight some of the best of the best in the state. Giv coffee, Goldberg bagels, Neil's donuts, and other local shops, announced with pride and on display. I appreciate places that recognize they might not be strong on certain items do they source from those who can. I got an affogato, sausages and cheese bagel, and a few Neil's donuts. The food came out quick, took some artsy pics then dug in. The affogato had lots of pistachios, coffee was strong and ice cream was nice and sweet. Could have done without the whipped cream, but the flavors were there. The sausage egg and cheese bagel, the bagel was very good, but didn't match well with the sandwich. A very good bagel has a chewy exterior and soft interior. This bagel has that, but it wasn't a good match for the soft egg slab and sausage patty. This bagel is a very good lunch sandwich or a schmere bagel, but not the best for a sandwich. The Neil's donuts were fresh and tasty, no complaints there. Pricing was higher than expected, but the quality was there to help justify it. I may skip the donuts next time I go and swap out the bagel for a biscuit, but it's a very good breakfast spot for the area
