I love their boba tea. My only slight complain is the variety of boba. I get it because they have crafted some amazing drinks but I'd love the ability to choose differnt tropes of boba like mango boba. Customer service is quick and courteous. It's been a few years since I went to Okinawa Boba at Parkville Market. I went again today. There were plenty of people at Parkville, and some of the vendors had quite the wait. There was no one waiting at Okinawa Boba, which worked out for me, since I was in a bit of a rush. I usually prefer to get the fruit tea, but here they only make milk based drinks. I think in the summer, when it's still hot out, it's much more refreshing to have a fruit tea, than a milk based tea. I got the Ichigo Ruby, this is the strawberry flavor. The other options looked pretty good too. This looked so good, the way that the milk and the strawberry sauce marked the cup. As an added bonus, the strawberry jelly was heart shaped. I really enjoyed the Ichigo Ruby drink. It was pretty sweet and very tasty. I would come here again in the future. read more

Disclaimer: I had a crazy boba phase when I was a teen so I've been sitting boba out for a bit. I'm at Parkville Market pretty often and recently I caved and tried the brown sugar boba. Instantly was back into my obsession. No boba was safe. Went back the next time, got another one (this time ube). I was looking forward to it more than the food I was there to get. Checked out this boba stand and had to order their Satoimo Ube boba tea; it has Ube and taro which is creamy and has a nutty flavor. I love the purple color also and their boba is deliciously chewy. This boba is not like the traditional tapioca balls; it's made from konjac which is a plant from Asia with a jelly consistency. I actually prefer this over the tapioca boba because it's healthier and has a better texture. They also have other bobas to choose from, heart shaped strawberry jelly, matcha boba jelly, and brown sugar boba jelly. I can't wait to try out the other flavors; what catches my eyes next are the Kanako Brown Sugar, Cafe Matcha, and Ama Thai drinks. I came here with my family for lunch on a weekday. We decided to get boba for dessert. This spot caught our eye because the drinks look beautiful and the branding is great. We got the matcha drink and ube drink, and they were simply not good. Given, I am from the Bay Area, where there's a boba shop on every corner, but these drinks just felt lacking. The flavors were either too milky, watery, or powdery. We couldn't finish our drinks. I don't think it was worth the price. Unpopular opinion, but I thought this was an okay boba drink. The boba is more like a boba jelly. At first bite, I was turned off, but it grew on me. The brown sugar drink was tasty. This place is located inside Parkville Market in Hartford. I'm a huge fan of the flavors of the tea, and the ingenuity behind changing up the "boba" (tapioca pearl) portion of the tea to what I believe is a konjac based one. It lightens up the calories and has a really unique texture that is enjoyable with the liquid portion. The degree of sweetness is perfect in my opinion. I'm looking forward to trying all of their other flavors, especially the brown sugar flavor. I took off a star for slower than expected service. It seems to be popular (and has been since it opened!) so it was a little jarring that they were really slow. I enjoy getting something to drink before running errands, but it's not efficient enough for me to justify going out of my way. Note that the non dairy milk is quite pricey, and they also don't have normal black tapioca pearls only jellies. So just be aware of that! Got a high expectation on what these Okinawa boba drinks would be based on the name itself. I ordered two brown sugar boba and one Ube boba. The drinks looked pretty. It was warm not cold. Some ice floating at the top, totally warm on the bottom. And even after I stirred it up.... It was still a warm drink... The first bite of boba was not chewy tapioca texture but more like jello. The brown sugar ones are way too sweet... brown sugar syrup. Ube has a nice flavor but the lady who made the drink didn't put a nice ratio of Ube and milk. It was too milky. After the third sip, there was no more Ube flavor. Price on substitute on milk choice: $1 almond milk??? The drink was $7+ Not worth the try at all. So I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. read more

When I looked at their menu I realized they had only a six flavor options. I went with what Tessa suggested but asked for half sweet- knowing sometimes they come too sugary. This boba place is amazing! The drinks are super creamy and sweet with strong flavors. The strawberry was delicious and had fun strawberry heart shaped jelly which were so good but it was a little hard to get up the straw. Maybe they could make them a tiny bit smaller but they tasted very good with the drink and were SO cute. The brown sugar milk tea was also delicious and the bobas were nice and soft and sweet. I got full sugar this time but next time maybe I would try 75% or 50% next time. I also tried the onigiri-pork tamago sandwich and I LOVED this! Came here for an almond milk tea, I didn't even get to put in my order because the person working at the cashier was looking at me like I was crazy for ordering "an almond milk tea." The workers here should be more versed on taking orders and knowing the products they sell. I haven't had nearly as many poké bowls as I have had sushi dishes, but Okinawa Boba's got it goin' on! I loved how I had the option to go for a bed of greens instead of rice to start off building my own bowl. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious, and the lychee green tea they just popped in as a new drink selection made for a refreshing finish. This by definition is not boba. The drink portion was good, but saying its boba is borderline false advertising.

I will never come back to this vendor in Parkville Marketplace again. First, their labeled cups have been replaced with cheaper and flimsy cups that are smaller in size. I ordered the Kinako Brown Sugar Boba drink. I saw staff refill their Boba container from another clear bag of PREMADE boba jelly- it was not freshly made... That was their first mistake! I was then served the boba drink, which was still HOT and melted the ice that was in the cup! Who wants to drink hot boba tea that is supposed to be cold? NO ONE. I had to ask for a separate cup of ice so I could cool my drink. Second mistake! Like I mentioned earlier, the cup was so flimsy that while trying to put on the lid, the cup wasn't sturdy at all and ended up spilling the entire drink over myself. Should've taken a picture of the flimsy cup. If you order any boba drinks, pay close attention to the kitchen staff when refilling their Boba jelly container. On another note, my friend bought the poke bowl and ended up getting sick from it and threw up! Her husband tried the take home poke bowl and ALSO got sick. Unacceptable. I will be sharing this experience with all my friends. Please do better. read more
