I love their boba tea. My only slight complain is the variety of boba. I get it because they have crafted some amazing drinks but I'd love the ability to choose differnt tropes of boba like mango boba. Customer service is quick and courteous. And they have a lot of selection otherwise with distinct descriptive menu options. read more

It's been a few years since I went to Okinawa Boba at Parkville Market. I went again today. There were plenty of people at Parkville, and some of the vendors had quite the wait. There was no one waiting at Okinawa Boba, which worked out for me, since I was in a bit of a rush. I usually prefer to get the fruit tea, but here they only make milk based drinks. I think in the summer, when it's still hot out, it's much more refreshing to have a fruit tea, than a milk based tea. I got the Ichigo Ruby, this is the strawberry flavor. The other options looked pretty good too. This looked so good, the way that the milk and the strawberry sauce marked the cup. As an added bonus, the strawberry jelly was heart shaped. I really enjoyed the Ichigo Ruby drink. It was pretty sweet and very tasty. I would come here again in the future. read more

Disclaimer: I had a crazy boba phase when I was a teen so I've been sitting boba out for a bit. I'm at Parkville Market pretty often and recently I caved and tried the brown sugar boba. Instantly was back into my obsession. No boba was safe. Went back the next time, got another one (this time ube). I was looking forward to it more than the food I was there to get. This one wasn't as mind-blowing but still pretty good lol. I'll be back for sure read more

Checked out this boba stand and had to order their Satoimo Ube boba tea; it has Ube and taro which is creamy and has a nutty flavor. I love the purple color also and their boba is deliciously chewy. This boba is not like the traditional tapioca balls; it's made from konjac which is a plant from Asia with a jelly consistency. I actually prefer this over the tapioca boba because it's healthier and has a better texture. They also have other bobas to choose from, heart shaped strawberry jelly, matcha boba jelly, and brown sugar boba jelly. I can't wait to try out the other flavors; what catches my eyes next are the Kanako Brown Sugar, Cafe Matcha, and Ama Thai drinks. This boba stand is right next to Hartford Poke Company which I believe is the same business. I'll have to check out their poke as well. Overall, quality boba tea and I enjoyed it! read more

Okinawa Boba - Volcano Ahi bowl up front. In the back is the Crispy indulgence. - Bubble Tea Near Me - Hartford, Connecticut

I came here with my family for lunch on a weekday. We decided to get boba for dessert. This spot caught our eye because the drinks look beautiful and the branding is great. We got the matcha drink and ube drink, and they were simply not good. Given, I am from the Bay Area, where there's a boba shop on every corner, but these drinks just felt lacking. The flavors were either too milky, watery, or powdery. We couldn't finish our drinks. I don't think it was worth the price. When checking out, double check the screen because boba's automatically added. Extra star for the service though. The cashier was really nice and helped me fix the issue when I realized I did not order boba and I was charged. He helped us reverse and repay. read more

A great addition to the growing about of bubble tea and drinks in greater Hartford! Since they opened, I've always been a sucker for their Ube tea. It's slightly different than Taro but oh so addicting to me. I've also enjoyed the Thai tea and the classic milk tea options. If you ask my partner, he'll say the stars are the fruit teas! I can't blame him because those are all great too. You'd have to stop me from ordering one of each with my food. Finally, the staff is absolutely wonderful. They operate with Hartford Poke and they put their attention on every drink. Make sure to check them out! read more

I've been to Okinawa Boba before and it's really only a place I would come if I was in the area and wanted boba; I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I got the iced Kinako Brown Sugar milk tea with brown sugar jelly boba, less sweet. This was a good sweetness level for me; any sweeter would've given me a headache. As a huge fan of kinako, it's disappointing that this flavor didn't come through at all. It tasted like a normal brown sugar milk tea. I do like their jelly boba, but I wish they would include an option for regular tapioca pearls. Overall, this place is alright. read more

Unpopular opinion, but I thought this was an okay boba drink. The boba is more like a boba jelly. At first bite, I was turned off, but it grew on me. The brown sugar drink was tasty. They definitely forgot about me and my drink, making it only after I inquired (after a 10 minute wait). Lunch rush isn't really an excuse, especially when the boba drinks and poke bowls have two separate preparing areas. There are only 6 flavor options, which is fine. This just didn't blow my mind away. read more

3.5 Okinawa Boba is the same stall as the Hartford Poke Company and has the same problem with slow service since the person at the register also makes the drinks. The drinks were decent. You can alter the sweetness to your taste and select the type of milk (they have almond milk). I ordered the brown sugar tea which was a bit too sweet for me, but then I should have expected that. Boba is extra. Not a fan of the boba. It's sweet but the texture is weird and a bit snappy/crunchy instead of chewy. read more

This place is located inside Parkville Market in Hartford. I'm a huge fan of the flavors of the tea, and the ingenuity behind changing up the "boba" (tapioca pearl) portion of the tea to what I believe is a konjac based one. It lightens up the calories and has a really unique texture that is enjoyable with the liquid portion. The degree of sweetness is perfect in my opinion. I'm looking forward to trying all of their other flavors, especially the brown sugar flavor. I took off a star for slower than expected service. It seems to be popular (and has been since it opened!) so it was a little jarring that they were really slow. I enjoy getting something to drink before running errands, but it's not efficient enough for me to justify going out of my way. Definitely stop by if you have time/don't mind waiting because it really is delicious. read more

Very solid milk tea! Service was amazing and they were very nice. I love that it's made to order right in front of you. Note that the non dairy milk is quite pricey, and they also don't have normal black tapioca pearls only jellies. So just be aware of that! Otherwise if I'm craving it and in the area it is a very solid choice. Loved the thai tea and ube flavors! The strawberry and matcha looked delicious as well. read more

Got a high expectation on what these Okinawa boba drinks would be based on the name itself. I ordered two brown sugar boba and one Ube boba. The drinks looked pretty. It was warm not cold. Some ice floating at the top, totally warm on the bottom. And even after I stirred it up.... It was still a warm drink... The first bite of boba was not chewy tapioca texture but more like jello. The brown sugar ones are way too sweet... brown sugar syrup. Ube has a nice flavor but the lady who made the drink didn't put a nice ratio of Ube and milk. It was too milky. After the third sip, there was no more Ube flavor. Price on substitute on milk choice: $1 almond milk??? The drink was $7+ Not worth the try at all. So I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. read more

Go ahead and try it!! This NOT bubble tea, but similar. Boba milk tea has crystal boba jelly instead of the tapioca pearls you find in bubble tea, which to me makes it far more palatable. I ordered the more traditional Kinako Brown Sugar tea - "less sweet". It was tasty and refreshing and fun to try!! I'd probably describe it as a mildly sweetened cold tea with a lot of milk. But at the bottom are these chewy flavored jellies, kind of like a very soft gummy candy. Again, fun to try! They have several flavors and different types of teas, and even offer soy milk. The girl at the counter was very nice and offered me a small sample to try. It worked because I liked it and purchased one! Another great place at Parkville Market! read more

I was excited when Tess told me they had Boba Tea at the Parkville Market- I have several places where I live with extensive menus offering a variety of flavors and sweetening options. When I looked at their menu I realized they had only a six flavor options. I went with what Tessa suggested but asked for half sweet- knowing sometimes they come too sugary. I got the Milky Black Tea with brown sugar boba and it wasn't sweet at all. I love milk teas, but I wish I had picked something else. I barely got half of it down before tossing the rest. Not all boba is created equal for sure! Three stars because Tess loves her drink from here- full sweetened. read more

This place is inside Parkville Market food hall. I went for Kinoko brown sugar and satoimo ube. Brown sugar one was sweeter than the ube bubble tea. The bubble they use isn't the real bubble. It tastes something similar to a gummy bear. read more

I'm addicted. I'm not sure what makes their Boba tea better than the rest, but it is. Their menu is small, but every option is delicious. They provide milk alternatives and a new twist on boba: matcha, brown sugar, or strawberry jelly. It's my favorite thing to grab on our way out of Parkville Market. But buyer beware, it's so good you will crave it on the regular and you won't want to share read more

Good drink, but was a little thrown off by the boba jelly. It was exactly as described -- jelly-- and not the squishy boba balls that I was anticipating. It was also a little weird that you have to actually tell them to add the tea to the drinks, otherwise, you're essentially just ordering flavored milk. It was not made apparent to us, so a friend ordered a drink thinking it'd be like milk tea, but instead got a nice cup of flavored soy milk. read more

This boba place is amazing! The drinks are super creamy and sweet with strong flavors. The strawberry was delicious and had fun strawberry heart shaped jelly which were so good but it was a little hard to get up the straw. Maybe they could make them a tiny bit smaller but they tasted very good with the drink and were SO cute. The brown sugar milk tea was also delicious and the bobas were nice and soft and sweet. I got full sugar this time but next time maybe I would try 75% or 50% next time. I also tried the onigiri-pork tamago sandwich and I LOVED this! The plaza it's in has lots of fun restaurants to try and outdoor seating with picnic tables so I definitely recommend coming here!!! read more

I don't normally write reviews, but this is too good a drink place that has too few ratings. Okinawa Boba is a hidden Gem in CT. Located inside Parkville Market, Okinwana Boba is a place I will not be returning to. All the pictures posted make it seem like their boba is delicious, but that was not my experience. The consistency of the tapioca balls was very odd; I found them to be hard instead of chewy. I got the Kinako Brown Sugar, which I found to be extremely sweet. For the price, I don't think it's worth it. read more

Very "chalky" matcha boba, and not very tasty. When I find the photo I took, I'll post it here. You'll see what I mean. Service wasn't very friendly at all, either, and very slow. I haven't had nearly as many poké bowls as I have had sushi dishes, but Okinawa Boba's got it goin' on! I loved how I had the option to go for a bed of greens instead of rice to start off building my own bowl. Came here for an almond milk tea, I didn't even get to put in my order because the person working at the cashier was looking at me like I was crazy for ordering "an almond milk tea." The workers here should be more versed on taking orders and knowing the products they sell. I didn't even want to support a business that had workers treating their customers in such a rude and unprofessional manner. Save your money and go somewhere where you don't get treated like an idiot when ordering, could of been a racist motive, I don't really know. Just know as a POC, I did not feel welcomed at all. read more

This by definition is not boba. The drink portion was good, but saying its boba is borderline false advertising.

I will never come back to this vendor in Parkville Marketplace again. First, their labeled cups have been replaced with cheaper and flimsy cups that are smaller in size. I ordered the Kinako Brown Sugar Boba drink. I saw staff refill their Boba container from another clear bag of PREMADE boba jelly- it was not freshly made... That was their first mistake! I was then served the boba drink, which was still HOT and melted the ice that was in the cup! Who wants to drink hot boba tea that is supposed to be cold? NO ONE. I had to ask for a separate cup of ice so I could cool my drink. Second mistake! Like I mentioned earlier, the cup was so flimsy that while trying to put on the lid, the cup wasn't sturdy at all and ended up spilling the entire drink over myself. Should've taken a picture of the flimsy cup. If you order any boba drinks, pay close attention to the kitchen staff when refilling their Boba jelly container. On another note, my friend bought the poke bowl and ended up getting sick from it and threw up! Her husband tried the take home poke bowl and ALSO got sick. Unacceptable. I will be sharing this experience with all my friends. Please do better. read more
