I've been an at least yearly customer to Maria's since they were located on State Street in Media,PA and I've been coming to this location they moved to over 20 years ago equally as often. Honestly, since the formerly great unnamed bakery in the middle of Delaware County that I used to frequent has slid downhill I have become a more frequent visitor to Maria's Prime Time bakery. Donuts are always fresh. Cookies too and both are great. The breads I've tried reminded me of my great grandmother's homemade West Philly breads. I've had their cakes, Both layer and various sized sheetcakes for parties. All have been tasty, sweet and satisfying. The premises are clean and there are always enough staff to help. And that's a good thing because this place can get mobbed at times because it's good. Don't hesitate to place your trust in Maria's in ordering bakery items for that special event. You will be happy. I have now sampled the button holes, the glazed and jelly donuts, and some of the sweet potato pie. Why the hell did I wait this long? I'll just give you my exact quote while tasting the button hole for the first time in their shop: "MMMMM... to hell with Krispy Kreme!" And my wife's exact words when i brought them home... "We are never going to Dunkin Donuts again!" My favorite donuts in the Philly area in recent years have been Beiler's in Reading Terminal. These are right there with them. I'm calling it a tie overall. But the glazed donuts might be better than anything Beiler's has if that makes sense. They make Krispy Kreme look like a two day old Wawa donut. Lawd have mercy! Get there early and don't expect them to have everything you want. They're small and they get sold out fast. But get whatever you can when you're there and just love it. As I was writing this I also took a bite of the Boston Cream donut. My wife and I agree. It's not too sweet which is actually perfect. They seem to know just how much sweetness works here. They're smart. I won't wait years to go back again. I promise.

They used to be stuffed with cream, but now they have half the filling and too much dough. Why did you change a good thing? Esh's Produce: Any fruit or vegetable from here is excellent. A & R Bakery: The cheesecake offerings are impressive; there's individual slices, half and whole cheesecakes. There's literally a wall of all types of cakes and pies, along with multiple shelves filled with cookies, donuts, breads, baked treats. There's plenty of free parking and public restrooms. Near closing time, local folks come pouring in here to get dinner and it becomes animated. Open 3 days a week; only operates during daytime hours.
