Beautiful bagel spot! Never seen bagels from a wood fire oven before. Loved it. Got several bagels and some hot tea and hot chocolate. The bagel guy was very cheery. Good service.

I got a blueberry bagel with honey pistachio cream cheese. It was good! The bagel had a good chew. The atmosphere was good, with free WiFi & outlets available. I will come back, but it was a bit pricey for one bagel ($6.48 not including tip).

A co worker came back talking about how good they were and then let me try his everything bagel with maple bacon cream cheese...OMG it was so good. He went on to say that he ordered a grilled cheese bagel and how good it was. Welp I came in here and it was a complete vibe, the playlist they had going was spot on perfect for me. Ordered a vanilla bean iced latte and it was pretty good. I ordered the grilled cheese without tomatoes and with bacon, my goodness, it was the cheesiest grilled cheese I've had and was so good. I couldn't even finish the other half. My co worker ordered the avocado toast and said she really enjoyed it. This is definitely my breakfast spot when in the area. Staff was friendly, joking, down to earth.

Trying to stay low carb is KILLING ME. But moderation is the key, so if you're gonna shove a bunch of carbs down your throat, you might as well walk 30 minutes round trip to get there to work some of that off. So off I go down the street from my office to check out this Montreal bagel style. What does it mean? Well, the GOOGLE says that compared to a NY bagel, they are smaller, denser and cooked by wood fire. Because I came in the middle of the afternoon, they didn't have all the flavors available, so I opted for a plain bagel to try. At $2.25 each, this ain't your Acme bagel for a dollar. And I loved it. It was everything the GOOGLE told me it was going to be, smaller, denser and packed with all the carby deliciousness I was craving. What I really liked? The almost crispy outside of the bagel. Don't come if your teeth are loose or have bad dentures.

    Pizza Bagel

This is a picture of the $9 Pizza Bagel. No alterations or anything like that, it's one of their bagels with canned tomato sauce and cheese. There's no oregano to speak of. I'll leave it at that.

My two experiences with this Spread location were so vastly different so I'm not sure how to rate this, but I'll start with the good one- On a weekend morning, got a deluxe bagel with brisket, eggs, delicious spicy sauce and cheese, and also got to try a classic SEC on a bagel as well. Although a little pricey, the amount of taste in this bagel combo was insanely perfect for a hangover. The bagels themselves are super fresh as well. 5/5 for this day. The next time, I arrived to pick up an order I had placed to find they didn't have any record of it, didn't have any bagels left to complete my order, and the workers told me to come get it tomorrow instead of canceling the order for me. I was very confused what they meant by that, and they acted annoyed when I asked for my order to be canceled on their end since I didn't have my phone with me. Overall super tasty but the service wasn't inspiring me to go back again. But the bagels might be good enough to blow me back in

    A Classic Slice

Once in a while, you go somewhere just to get a good deal, but then realize you have discovered a gem. That's Cozette Pizza for me. My boyfriend and I went last night after finding a deal on an app. We received one classic, one pepperoni, one sausage, and three BBQ brisket slices. Unfortunately, I only have a picture of the classic slice (because we were too busy enjoying to take pictures!) but trust me when I say the slices were HUGE. Like, if you folded them in half, it would still be a good slice of pizza huge. And they were GOOD too. The taste didn't come from just having a ton of "stuff", they came from the quality of the dough, sauce, and toppings. It's truly been a while since I've had such a high quality pizza. The storefront is spacious, bright, and hip. The service is friendly. The prices are fair (full stop) and even great considering the quality of the product. If I lived closer to the store, I would probably be around for a slice at least once a week!

Had a really great experience at Spread South Street. Great friendly service. Awesome Montreal Bagels and smoked salmon. Smoked pastrami as well. Had a few Sammie's there and they had North fork (Long Island) chips which I used to have often when living in NY/Long Island. Only negative and why I gave four stars and not five - no bathroom. Took a dozen bagels and cream cheese to go. Overall an excellent place would go back.

This cute bagelry/cafe saved my morning! We were walking to south street and I was starving! I decided to walk in for a bagel and was pleasantly surprised with the cute decor and fresh bagels. They have so many bagel flavors and cream cheese combos to choose from. I loved my garlic bagel with jalapeño lime cream cheese (def had a kick to it with the fresh jalapeños)

this is their excuse of a bacon egg and cheese with ketchup on it.

TODAY is Friday the 17th of September, 2021. this place sucks. i've given it way too many chances, every time i go i wait way too long for a sloppy messy bagel that was obviously not made with care. They always seem to mess up an aspect of my order too. I will never be returning and i hope none of you decide to eat here. the cherry on top is how overpriced everything is. they need to fire everyone and get a whole new staff.

Pastrami and egg sandwich poppy bagel
    Marcel M.

Fresh, tasty Montreal-style bagels and sandwiches cooked in real wood-fired oven. My family stopped by on opening weekend and enjoyed several standard sandwiches (sausage egg and cheese) on different bagels including sesame, poppy and cinnamon raisin. All so yummy. Best bagels in Philly!!! They offer tons of cream cheese flavors, real Nova lox and pastrami sandwiches among other tasty choices. La Colombe coffee yay. Draft lattes too. Free WiFi. Comfortable seating and a decent amount of outlets. Work anyone? Super friendly staff

Highly recommended if you're visiting Reading Market, definitely one of the standout food spots there.

This was my first time actually trying it and it definitely lived up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. My wrap had chicken, hummus, lettuce, and feta, and it was so delicious. My chicken was very good, very tender and seasoned well. It also had a great creamy hummus to tie all the other ingredients together. The feta added just enough saltiness to balance out the rest of the flavors. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and my wrap was extremely soft, yet still maintained its form completely as I ate. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate. It was delicious! It was my fist time having a Nutella hot Chocolate. I usually just get a normal hot chocolate. The pita chips served as an additional side item with this sandwich and proved to be quite enjoyable. The pita chips had a good crunch and were able to pair with the wrap very well. I went to Middle Child a few weeks ago just after 3, only to find it closes at 3. Today I returned, around 1, and there was a good crowd there having lunch. I ordered the Surfer, and the Hash Brown Potatoes. The Surfer is Middle Child's most popular sandwich. It's made on a Ciabatta bun, and has a thick layering of tender, lean, House Turkey breast, with melty Swiss cheese, arugula, blueberry chutney, and Duke's mayo. It's hard to describe just how delicious this sandwich was. My biggest concern was the Ciabatta bun - it's not one of my favorites, as I've found them to be tough and difficult to bite through. My fears were quickly put to rest after the first bite! The bun had a slightly crispy exterior - and when I followed through with my first bite, the tender, soft interior of the Ciabatta was a pleasant surprise. In fact, it complemented the thick savory Turkey, arugula, chutney and mayo! It was one of the best Turkey sandwiches I've had. Now, if that wasn't enough, don't forget, I ordered the Hash Brown Potatoes. It said Hash Browns on the blackboard, see attached picture, but these 'weren't your Mama's hash browns'! They are described online as Latka'd Hash Browns. They are thick crispy squares that combine a potato pancake latke with a hash brown texture. The interior reminded me of my mother's potato kugel, which I still reminisce about. In one word, those fried crispy potato squares were outstanding. It's 'a must try' and goes so well with the Surfer! Last, but not least, the Limeade! It was so refreshing! Not too tart, not too sweet... just right! I'll be returning to Middle Child in the not too distant future!

The corned beef was an enticing vibrant pink, tender and juicy, with a perfectly balanced and pure saltiness that accentuated the beef's natural flavor. The scrambled eggs were incredibly smooth and creamy, complemented by the rich, melted cooper sharp cheese. The rye was toasted with butter, giving it a thin, crispy crust and a soft interior--a bit softer than Hershel's East Side Deli's, fragrant but not greasy. Every part was delicious, and the combination was harmonious and delightful. The portion of ingredients was very generous, definitely worth the $14.50 price. The service was a little slow, but the moment you tasted it, you would forgive everything!
