This is the belated finale...Part 3...of my recent nightmarish experience with a pothole damaged tire. Part I-- AAA. Part 2-- Firestone. Part 3-- Dunkin. While Firestone was dealing with ordering and having delivered a new tire for my damaged one, I was advised that maybe I should head over in the direction of this Dunkin and grab myself something to eat, a coffee, whatever. I wasn't at all hungry, but after the rough night I had just suffered through, the thought of a large black coffee seemed to promise a least something of a salutary relief to my bleakness of spirit and forthcoming lightening of wallet. I have some familiarity with the shopping center the Dunkin is located in. There used to be, if memory serves me right, a Boston Market where the Dunkin is now (Boston Market is one of the few fast-food establishments that I actually miss; I know they still exist, but in a vastly reduced number, and there are none left in my geographic area that I'm aware of). Down at the other end of the shopping center is a post office branch where I occasionally buy stamps. Parking is abysmal here, and potentially hazardous, but I was...obviously, and distressingly...on foot. Service was pleasant, efficient. In my Firestone review, I said I ordered a bagel and coffee, but what I actually ordered was some kind of egg, bacon and cheese combination on a bagel, some sugary kind of donut, and a black coffee. The bagel was...just ok. Then again, I wasn't there to really evaluate the respective merits of Dunkin's foodstuffs. I figured eating something was probably a good idea, and I really needed the coffee. I think there was a point in the distant past where Dunkin advertised that it offered the "best coffee around." Who knows? All I can say is that the caffeine-sugar-fat-excelsior combination (based on taste, I have to assume the bagels are made from excelsior) was welcome and soothed me at least a little bit. The seating area in the back is fairly roomy, and I was able to sit awhile by myself and meditate with dark intent upon my gloomy circumstances ("They say the luck of the Irish is bad...I'm proof of that...would it make any difference had I been born a WASP instead of being raised in a WASP family? Probably not..."). All that was missing from my pitiful ruminations was a sobbing "Woe is me!" and lachrymose lamentations. Not sure how that would have gone over with the Berkeley Heights Dunkin Donuts crowd. There were 2 bathrooms available; 1 for employees, 1 for patrons. The patron one was reasonably clean. My only complaint...and I guess it's a minor one, in retrospect...is the "music" being unceasingly played. Evidently, there's a Dunkin Donuts radio station, and it's every bit as horrible as you can imagine. Pounding Hip Hop (at the risk of sounding like the old fogey I in fact am, listening to Hip Hop is the aural equivalent of having someone pounding nails from a nail gun into my skull; at best, I guess Hip Hop has some legitimacy as a form of street poetry, but I find it insufferable. I once asked a mixed-race friend with a black wife, "Could I be a latent racist? Is this a vestigial remnant of my all-white upbringing in Wayne, NJ?" He replied, "No. You like Miles, Sam Cooke, Sun Ra, Billie, Arthur Lee, Al Green. It's no big thing. You don't like sh*tty music. That's all.") As if my thoughts had made themselves manifest to the unseen Dunkin DJ, the "song" switched from Hip Hop to one of processed pop pap by Harry Styles, the pretty "boy band" mannequin with the microphone jammed into his polished, manicured hand. Then Selena Gomez. Taylor. Adele. After a few minutes of puerile, inane posturing masquerading as "vocal artistry," (I think Adele does objectively have a strong voice, but her music, for me, is like fingernails...long ones...raking down a blackboard), I was almost ready for them to switch back to the Hip Hop. Almost. Thankfully, I had finished my sugar-caffeine-fat repast and was able to escape from the place before breaking down into pitiful sobs and lachrymose lamentation. I didn't feel like Malcolm McDowell after undergoing the Ludovico Treatment in "Clockwork Orange," but it was a close call. Come for the egg-bacon bagels and the sugary donuts, if you must (although if I'm going to subject myself to the extra calories, I prefer donuts from a genuine family-run neighborhood bakery...maybe that's just me). Have a cup of Joe as you avail yourself of the bathroom facilities. If you choose to sit and relax in the back, remember to bring earplugs. Unless you're of a younger generation and have never had the pleasure of being exposed to actually good music, like us old fogeys have. If you want to have a nice conversation with someone at one of the back tables, you'll have to shout over what Dunkin Donuts Radio considers to be music. Maybe you do too. In that case...have at it! In other words, the Dunkin experience is a mixed bag. read more

Stopped here yesterday. It was National donut day I ordered on the app. Put in for my donut but the app charged me I figured it would have come out at the checkout. I also got my pink coconut refresher yummmm. For lunch I ordered the bacon egg cheese on a croissant. I have been at this location before and the drinks are great, food not so much. The donut frosting had melted off and my croissant was not so tasty. read more

Usually at Starbucks or Dunkin' I pay for a large coffee and have them fill my personal reusable coffee mug which is less than a large. This morning at this location I was refused this service and was told I had to use their paper cup. Its no big deal in the big picture, but it seemed illogical and wasteful...and it was rude. read more

I don't understand the poor reviews of this place. The staff here are like speedy Gonzales on coffee lol. Yes the prices are a few quarters more but what do you expect: it's Berkeley Heights! I've come here on a busy day where the line was at the door, I was out in 10 mins!!! The girls at the register despite how busy they get are always friendly and suggest things. I've become an addict of their pumpkin munchkins #yumyum I don't recommend DD donuts at night because they taste bad. I recommend this DD.. The only downfall there no drive thru. I honestly don't know why the 2-3 bad or mediocre reviews here. I'm guessing those who had that ONE average experience here may have been in a bad mood themselves (you coffee addicts know how moody you can be before you get your morning dose of caffeine!). I've been a regular at this Dunkin in BH for a while. Actually, I became a regular there right after Hurricane Sandy happened (since Oct. 2012). Since then, some employees have come and gone, the entire place has been remodeled and updated (the layout is a lot nicer than other Dunkin's I've been to around NJ/NYC) and the crew is extremely friendly and welcoming. Citas, Kira and the entire team there are awesome, friendly, efficient and clean! Whoever happens to be working the food-prep station, I always see him/her cleaning and wiping down that area quite often. I honestly can't ever recall a time when I wasn't greeted with a friendly smile followed by a hello and sometimes even some friendly conversation while I wait the 20-30 seconds for my coffee. I've been there when it's slow (sometimes around late-morning) and I've been there when it's extremely busy on weekends and I have to say, they are a well-oiled machine when it comes to completing customer orders...and they STILL do it with a smile and courteous, friendly words! I don't usually order donuts, bagels or any food products (bikini-beach season is ALWAYS happening for me!). I have given in and treated myself to munchkins a few times and they've been good, fresh...even at 3-4pm in the afternoon. I'm there about 4-5 times a week...I sometimes even work from there some days and it's been a great "home office" for me. The wifi is always working well, the "Dunkin Radio" DJ's are funny and annoying at the same time...but most DJ's are! The music is hip and trendy (at least to my great musical taste!). So in conclusion, I hope this review puts to rest, the "so-so" reviews others have submitted here. You can't really measure any place off of just one visit. If you do, then that's unfortunate. I'd definitely recommend this Dunkin to any Dunkin fan or any fan of a great, friendly cafe like this one. Kudos to everyone there, see ya'll again real soon...perhaps tomorrow! :) Thanks! read more

If you have all morning to wait, then this is the place for you. Today I stood in line for 15 minutes to order coffee and donuts before I finally gave up and left. On a crowded Saturday morning, I was waited on by someone who appeared to be the manager. He seemed displeased that I didn't want to order a coffee, just a breakfast sandwich. When I ordered my breakfast sandwich, I repeated myself several times. When I received my sandwich, albeit quickly, it was made wrong. (I ordered ham and cheese on a croissant, I received ham, cheese, and egg on a croissant.) The cook who prepared and served me the wrong sandwich, opened my sandwich up, scraped off the egg, rewrapped it and gave it back to me. Gross. I would like to say that the DD in Berkeley Heights NJ is a wonderful establishment. I walked in a stranger a few weeks ago and today I feel like they are my friends! I hosted a Bar Mitzvah for my son this past weekend. I decided to do a donut wall for our guests, the wall was placed near the door so that that each guest could take a donut as they left the party. When I walked into the DD in BH I asked if they would be able to help make this happen. I asked if they could frost the donuts in my theme colors. They went above and beyond, checking with their baker and calling me to let me know what they had learned. They special ordered 16 dozen donuts in the colors I requested and hand delivered them to the venue the morning of the party. It was a very busy morning, it was great knowing that this small part of the day was taken care responsibly. The donuts where a HUGE hit, everyone raved about them. They were beautiful and delicious!!! Not one donut was left over (we did take a few dozen home but they were eaten within a day). To the owners of this DD; Thank you so much for helping to make my sons day super special. Your son, Jack is a true mensch!! Not only did he deliver the perfect donuts on time, he would not accept a tip and he gave our son Lucas a Bar Mitzvah gift!!! I may need some parenting advice :) LOL. I went In there a few weeks ago on a Monday at around 7am. I was greeted by a rude worker who had a name tag that read "citas ". I asked her for a medium coffee light and sweet. She handed me a coffee that was black. When I informed her that she gave me the wrong beverage, she asked me if I was sure. Now, I've learned that the customer is always right.
