I have passed by this bagel shop countless times and I finally got the chance to go in. It's located pretty conveniently - right next to the Westfield Train Station parking lot. Although there's a new bagel place that's located closer to the street, next to Manhattan Bagel. I'd like to mention now that I've been in NJ for a year and this is my first time trying bagels from a local spot and not Trader Joe's. I also grabbed some bagels from Pop-up Bagel while I was there to compare. There is a shared parking lot, though there are countless signs for reserved parking for the new bagel place, which I found interesting. The shared parking lot is oddly shaped, but still good that there is one. The shop is unassuming but lived in. It seemed like many in there were regulars. They sell breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. A lovely display section of bagels and an open kitchen. The menu they have displayed up top is... incomplete. And they cycle. I couldn't find a physical menu to study so perhaps my ordered items would have changed if I was more informed. The staff at the front is nice and friendly. Place looks relatively clean. Just to start off with, I got: PLAIN BAGEL: these are large. They have a nice chew but are soft with no crust. I liked these perfectly fine. Each bagel with nothing else is $1.49. EGG-AND-CHEESE on a PLAIN BAGEL: this wasn't an available item on the screen and I wasn't in the mood to ask about alliums (I'm an allium-free vegetarian) so I stuck with a simple combination. This was only $4.99. It's all in the name. A pretty decent sandwich with nothing else added in. It satisfied. Overall, I could see why this is a beloved place. They serve a good breakfast at reasonable prices. They know their regulars by name and they've got a steady stream of customers. It's not fancy but they've got everything - including chairs and tables for those dining in. Many came in to pick up; I'm not sure if they went through a website or an app. Or just called in. A solid go-to for breakfast. read more

Manhattan Bagel - A side by side of the plain bagel. Upper left is Manhattan Bagel, lower right is Pop Up's. - Bagels Near Me - Westfield, New Jersey

Solid spot for fresh bagels, but be sure to check your online orders. I was picking up takeout for an online order and found two sides and pickles were missing (luckily I checked my bag before leaving). The sandwiches are alright, but I found them pretty expensive for what they were. Okay for a lunch in a pinch. Other than for a quick bagel though, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

Nothing bad to say about this chain bagel joint. The croissant was very tasty. Plenty of bacon egg and spinach. It had a sauce on it too. The parfait was good. I'm a fan. read more

First off, the moment I walked in the door, I could instantly tell that this was a welcoming environment for me and my pals. Each worker had a GREAT smile on their face, and I instantly knew that the food would match that level of awesomeness. I was overstimulated and had a minor sensory overload with the amount of different bagels and options on their menu. However, after I ordered a lightly toasted everything bagel without poppy seeds, sesame seeds, dried onion, and garlic, but WITH cream cheese, lox, and tomato, with salt but no pepper, I felt more calm. I started salivating. Then I went to sit down, and I tripped and hit the floor, but, then, they brought my food, and the frown got wiped off my face! Boy! Was that first bite something else. Muy bueno! The texture of the lox, and the juicy tomato balanced out perfectly with the cream cheese. I knew at that moment there wasn't just any ordinary chef back there in the kitchen. There was a culinary artist. . Overall, experience was epic, and I ordered some Manhattan Bagel merchandise to give to me grandchildren who live in Alaska. - A Proud Customer read more

Great staff and great food. I wish i knew some of the names to give special recognition to. The gentleman with the glasses who i believe may be a manger is amazing at customer service and organization. I pass two bagel stores to come here. read more

I love talking about food and I'm heavily influenced by those who described how good their experience had been by convincing facial expressions, like one of the new orientees at my work. Based on some reviews who find this place not too welcoming, I let my husband go in, instead of my cranky self so it wouldn't mar my relationship with their Ranchero Wrap and Big Burrito Breakfast. They were quite similar in taste and filling, but the latter was chubbier and spicier, though I still added a little bit more of the hot sauce. This was a good breakfast, especially if you're in haste. Layers of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese with jalapeño and hash brown! And salsa sauce! If you catch all of it in one big bite, your day is off to a good start. It was everything she said it was, this Big Burrito Breakfast!! Always believe the locals. read more

Fresh and tasty bagels. Good breakfast sandwiches. Don't have to wait long for your order. Friendly staff!

We get Manhattan Bagels for Breakfast, Lunch, and/or brunch all the time! My favorite thing to get from MB is their classic bacon egg and cheese bagels on an everything egg bagel. The bagel is so fluffy and flavorful. They ALWAYS keep their bacon super crispy! My next favorite and go to item is their everything bagels, toasted, with scallion cream cheese. OH MY GOSH. The bagel literally melts into your mouth. I am obsessed with this sandwich, and under $5! You just can't go wrong. Check them out!!! read more

I've only had absolutely great experiences with this Manhattan Bagel location. Bagels were ready and waiting for me when I got there. I placed the order online and I didn't have to wait once I arrived to pick it up.

Love this place! The owners and staff are so nice, food delish, and service quick! Can't go wrong - with in person ordering or online!

Who in their right mind would pay money for this? More than $8 for the saddest breakfast sandwich ever on a pretty crappy bagel. Literally any other spot around this area exceeds this standard for less money. I can't wrap my head around why people would spend money here unless they're from California and pick the first place they see. read more

I hadn't been here in a long time, so I went here on Sunday to buy some bagels, and, of course, the line was out the door. Once inside, it is very cramped and narrow, with virtually no room to stand, especially if people are waiting for their orders. I looked at the bagels in the bins. They were small and unevenly baked. When I saw the sign and realized that they charge $1.19 each for plain bagels, plus tax, I walked out. I know this is tony Westfield, but that's 20% more than Fanwood Bagel, two miles away, where the bagels are at least as good, if not better. read more

Best bagel in town!!! And the friendliest staff! So many flavors to choose from but definitely choose their homemade veggie cream cheese!

Manhattan Bagel was a really nice place to enjoy your Sunday coffee and bagel after a brutal workout. Honestly, there are so many bagel shops to try and I'm really glad to have come here. The customer service was great and although it was really so busy we had such quick service and the food was so good. We tried so many different things including an everything bagel with lox and jalapeño cream cheese, egg white avocado on an everything bagel, the spicy chicken sandwich on an everything bagel and lastly the jalapeno hash brown specialty bagel with jalapeño cream cheese inside. If you couldn't tell we like spicy! And the cream cheese gave that perfect kick we needed. All in all I'd come here again! read more

It is beyond me how this business does not have a working phone and/or someone to answer it! Furthermore, be aware that if you order a toasted bagel online from this establishment, it will be raw. Every. Single. Time. Finally, after picking up a breakfast sandwich ordered online, that was made with an untoasted English muffin, I tried to call, hoping to speak with a manager. (I mean, have you ever tried to eat a cold, uncooked English muffin???) The voicemail system for this Westfield, NJ MB was an endless, frustrating loop with no way to reach a live human being. Thank you Yelp, for providing a sounding board for consumers like me who have been treated unfairly and would otherwise have no voice! read more

So this was my 1st time here and since it was a "Cheat Day" (gym terminology) I thought I would actually see what the hype was about with this franchise. This restaurant is conveniently located amongst other stores and there was plenty of parking when I pulled up. Upon walking in, there was a cute "selfie" machine at the front entrance if you and your friends were feeling photogenic. There was about 2-3 people readily available to take your order which made me feel good that there was a sense of urgency. Although the young lady was extremely nice- overall I thought the customer service piece was a little off. I didn't necessarily get that welcoming greeting - not saying that every other restaurant does it, it's just nice to have as an added bonus. There was a gentleman that walked in (I'm assuming an existing customer) and the manager or owner more than greeted this man! I just think it would've been nice if that could've been extended to other customers (including myself) just a little bit. Other than that, I ordered the "Steak, Egg and Cheese" on a poppy seed bagel which was AMAZING! It also took no time to receive my order. Overall, although the customer service was lacking - I would come back and would recommend this place. I just think that maybe if this establishment makes that little tweak? Then this will change to a 5 star review ! read more

Friendly service and the bagel was fresh and hot. This is one of my favorite stops for breakfast and lunch.

Order a double chocolate muffin and they were out so they through in some random muffin they had! I called and said if you are out, tell us! We just paid for a muffin that we THREW OUT... the know-it-all owner Matt Roloff sounding guy said, "Well it wasn't in the menu ANYWAY!" And just kept screaming that in the phone!? The good thing ... Absolutely disgusted and furious after leaving this place. Walked in to chaos and confusion. People entered through both doors and started multiple lines and no one knew what was going on. Employees looked unkempt and had an extremely unprofessional demeanor. The women at the counter were wearing pajamas and had long fake nails, and looked unclean, handeling food and beverages- very gross. I asked the woman at the counter for a coffee with milk and sugar (They moved the coffee station behind the counter), and she gave me a cup of milk with hardly any coffee or sugar, filled to the top, and the lid was put on incorrectly so as I walked out with food and coffee in hand, coffee spilled all over my pants. Manhattan bagels are generally consistent in my experience but this one in Westfield is a disgrace. read more

Definitely a staple in the community! You cant go wrong with anything from the menu. Staff is very inviting and friendly.

I placed an order online. I showed up at the correct time and kept waiting. It was a busy Sunday and the place was packed. I patiently waited for my order. When I asked about it, on of the employees tracked down my order. He implied it was my fault for waiting so long saying, "I'm not saying you haven't been waiting this long but ... you know..." Which is silly, Suppose I wasn't waiting that long, where was my food? The restaurant screwed up, instead of trying to make it right the employee try to make me look like a fool in front of a dozen people. I told him to cancel my order and I left. I'm not going to be gaslit for a bagel. read more
