The restaurant is well lit and beautifully designed. Their staff was really nice. If you go during lunch or dinner, you might have to wait a little. Their food was very tasty. My favorite would probably be the pork chops, while the fried rice was under cooked a little. Their portion size is pretty generous so order cautiously. I would recommend trying this restaurant out if you are in the Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Simi Valley area, especially if you are craving dumplings. read more

Dumpling Shack - Fried Vegetable Spring Roll(3) BBQ Pork Buns(3) Pork Xiao Long Bao(8) Shrimp & Pork Wontons Soup w.Udon Pork Chop Fried Rice - Dim Sum Near Me - Moorpark, California

Everything here looked so good and we ordered way too much! We got dumplings. We got soup. We got wontons. We got noodles. Everything was delicious! For being a fast casual restaurant, the service was amazing. Food came out quickly as soon as it was ready, and our water cups and tea cups were refilled anytime we got below half. We will definitely be going back! read more

They do not accept reservations, and despite claiming a 30-minute wait for Saturday dinner, we arrived to find the place half empty. The only decent item on the menu is the pork dumpling. The service is disappointing, have to pick up my own menu and call for service. I cannot recommend this place. read more

You all know it's all about the service for me. I can forgive things if the service is great . so first off, there are no reservations here it's basically walk-in only and their website, although not listed on yelp does exist which I found out later. We arrived and there was no one at the door to greet anyone. There was a long line at the cash register, not sure what it was for. There was a notepad, but it didn't really say if you should leave your name or anything so I wrote my name down on it and then my husband stood in line to find out if that was the right thing to do . He also asked how long a wait would be and how long it would be if we placed our order to go. They told him the order would be 25 minutes so we went ahead and ordered takeout because getting a table would take 40 minutes. One of the items was out of stock. They had no wontons at all so we told them just to leave it off no substitution. We ordered the soup dumplings, the pork bun, the egg custard bun, and the pork chop fried rice. My husband let them know that we would be sitting outside and they said that's fine. They would bring the order out. As we were sitting out there no numbers were being called. 40 minutes later I went in to find out what was going on they said they still had one more item to make. So all the rest of my order was sitting there getting cold while they were making one last item which took another 10 minutes. When it was finally done, even though I was waiting at the register and a couple of people knew I was waiting there, They sat my bag down on a shelf in front of the store and didn't bring it to me until five minutes later when some other guy who placed his order online 35 minutes ago came in to pick up his order and they said oh are you 136 and he said no....I had seen it sitting there for five additional minutes. I watched them look at me and put it down in another area. I told them I was 136. He was 138 and ordered well after me. I finally had my order at 55 minutes after I placed it. If the food was any good, I would've given this more stars. There was absolutely no soup in my dumplings when I got home plus they were cold from sitting there. The pork chop in the fried rice was dry, and the rice was hard like it had been sitting there all day. The pork buns were dry and cold. The custard bun, the custard had split and was super powdery. Not good at all. Don't waste your time here. There are much better dumpling places out there. I'd rather drive to a place where I can make a reservation that has better and more organized service with great food. read more

The food here was delicious! We ordered dumplings (chicken and pork), Udon, and wings. I truly loved the pork dumplings. My boyfriend ordered a honey milk green tea which was on the sweeter side but very tasty! We will definitely be coming back here! Also the ambience is bright and the staff was very friendly :) read more

Fabulous almost-authentic dim sum. We eat here often. For one more star, they must do the following:1) clean the restrooms, 2) keep entrance door clean and 3) clean the soy, vinegar and chili oil containers. Excellent service. Nice food, but the above would make it more appetizing. read more

Super good food , would definitely go back , the service was just ok , I asked multiple times for plastic utensils because their utensils and chop sticks were dirty but the servers just shook their head and ignored me so I just assumed maybe they didn't have any and went next door for plating utensils, very loud in here though it's a popular place so it is busy read more

Me and my family devoured our meal so fast that I did not have time to take a photo. I felt like everything here was super tasty and high quality! They did a great job at the presentation of the food and the way they designed the restaurant, it made it look super neat and clean. I really liked the scallion noodles I got and also the soup dumplings, the boba was great too! The only think they should add is a description on the food items of what they are and what the filling is because I expected the peach buns to have some peachy filling but it was some sticky rice tasting filling which was okay. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Let me preface that this is a welcome and much needed dim sum addition to Ventura County. They offer jumbo har gow and pork shrimp shumai which is my go to combo. $7.50 for 3 pieces of each is steep especially because compared to other jumbo sized dim sum it is lacking. The wrapping for the har gow was a little soft and floury for my taste but it did the job. I would have like a more robust wrapping and if they make that adjustment then it would be very competitive! I also tried their mango cheese boba and it was pretty good ngl. It didn't have that typical savory aspect from the cheese foam but rather a sweet and slightly buttery profile which was actually pretty refreshing! On that one drink alone I'd order boba here instead of the boba time next door. For my first impression review I'm quite satisfied and I'll definitely be coming back with my family to order more off the menu. My feedback would be for more coordination with the staff to check on tables as it seemed almost random on who's helping who. A few times I saw people walking up to the register to pay or ask for something. The service is polite and friendly so I attribute my criticism to the growth stage of this new restaurant. The interior is spacious with an above average aesthetic and parking is no problem since it's in the giant shopping plaza. My 4 star review factors in price, food quality, service, and accessibility if you're wondering and so far so good! Give this place a try! read more

The food was good. First time I've ever tried dumplings and will be back when I'm in the area. The service was great, and our food came out pretty fast. The atmosphere was relaxing and easy going. Everyone seemed to be bonding over food and were having a good time. There's nothing better than food bringing ppl together. read more

I really wanted to like this place because the food was actually pretty good, but unfortunately the service and overall experience left a lot to be desired. We were seated right in direct sunlight during sunset, and the glare was so intense that I literally had to wear sunglasses inside the restaurant just to see. When we asked if it was possible to move tables, we were told no. We were not even offered to wait for another table. It was just a no. We noticed other guests struggling with the same issue, and some type of shade, curtain, or window covering would make a huge difference. The service was also disappointing. We received our waters quickly, but one of our children accidentally knocked a glass over, spilling water across the table. No one came to check on us or offer assistance until we flagged someone down. They brought a few napkins, but never replaced the spilled water, the soaked plate, or the missing spoon, leaving us short a place setting for the rest of the meal. At one point we asked for forks and felt like our request was being laughed off rather than taken seriously. Throughout the meal, no one really checked on our table. Food would arrive, but there was very little actual service or attention to whether we needed anything. The bathroom was also not very clean, and the soap dispenser appeared to be installed incorrectly. The only way to get soap was through the wrong end of the dispenser, which felt unsanitary. The cleanliness issues extended beyond the bathroom. The chili sauce, soy sauce, and vinegar containers sitting on our table were covered in grime and felt sticky to the touch. This wasn't a case of one table being overlooked; they looked like they hadn't been cleaned or even wiped down in days. For items that every guest is expected to handle while eating, that level of cleanliness was concerning. I almost didnt want to use it. Overall, the food was good, but good food alone wasn't enough to make up for the poor service, lack of attentiveness, uncomfortable seating situation, and cleanliness concerns. read more

We went there tonight. The food was good, not great. Definitely not comparable to DinTai Fung by any means. The service was so slow and not accommodating. A few employees seemed to know what they were doing but most were just running around with what didn't seem to be designated positions. We had to ask several times for anything we needed to several different employees as I don't think there are designated servers or really any position. But my biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness. The table condiments were filthy. The bathrooms were broken and not stocked and also very dirty. We won't be back. Cleanliness is a huge deal for us. read more

IT'S ABOUT TIME! Finally don't have to drive over 40 minutes for some delicious dumplings. The pan fried pork dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion oil noodles, jumbo pork and shrimp shumai, and the broth in their wonton + udon soup is incredible. I wasn't as big of a fan of the chicken dumplings or the wontons (I found the wrapper to be a bit in the thick side) but that doesn't change my 5 stars because there is so much on the menu. You will definitely find something you love. They just opened and I've already been 3 times lol. read more

Delicious! Din Tai Fung who? The Xiao Long Bao and the noodles are so good!! They sit you pretty quickly even though they are always busy.

We have been wanting to check this place out and wow for a local spot it hits. The food is tasty and satisfying. The staff were attentive and so polite. The decor is fun with the kitchen in view to see them making your order. This place is usually crowded during the dinner rush so if you don't want to wait go for the lunch hours. Again this place is worth the money. read more

My wife and I went here late December, for the first time. Overall, the experience was good. We had BBQ pork buns, Har Gow - both of which were very good, It's a bit pricier than what we would pay for in Monterey Park, though the portions were just slightly bigger. However, one thing that prevented me from giving it a '5': We ordered WonTon soup. It lacked flavor, and my wife said it tasted like the liquid was plain water, rather than with a broth. We mentioned this to the server, who looked at it, and basically said that was how it was made. Personally, I think they made a mistake, but didn't want to acknowledge it. Based on this, I would be hesitant to order soup here again. --- One item that is important: The restaurant makes it fresh. This place needs a manager. And if there is one, they need to get a new one. They have several operational issues. Would have received at least four stars for the food alone but service was terrible. We arrived at 4:30pm . Sign on the door said closed until 5 for staff lunch. Management needs to update online hours. 5:10 we arrive again and the entire restaurant is full. There is no one standing at the door to greet you but I saw a notepad so assumed you write down your name for a table . No one updates you on the wait time. After a few minutes of waiting I decide it would be more efficient to order take out. After placing my order, cashier does not tell me how long the wait will be. We go next door to get boba. Come back and ask cashier for my order. He said 20 minutes. 29 minutes later order is still not ready. This happens a couple more times. So by the time I get my food it's over an hour later. No apologies. Bathroom is a mess. Trashcan is overflowing with towels. Random chair is blocking the walkway to the bathroom. Food is on par with quality you would find in the 626 area but learn from service efficient places like Din Tai Fung and get a manager. People don't mind waiting but you shouldn't underestimate wait times. It's disrespectful towards customers. read more

We find ourselves craving this spot. The food is so authentic and their chili oil is the perfect touch with the XLB. The honey green tea is my favorite it's so refreshing and not too sweet. My parents and I have been waiting eagerly for this restaurant to open. Although we do not mind the drive out to Monterey Park or Arcadia to have authentic dumplings, it is always nice to have options closer to home. We went on Opening Day and were immediately greeted by the staff. The space was super clean and spacious. Not the most extensive menu but enough to choose from. This is what I ordered: 1. Pork XIAO long Bao (soup dumplings): GREAT! flavorful and came out hot 2. Shrimp Stir Fried Udon: good flavor, a bit too much sauce (should be a drier stir fry) but tasty! 3. BBQ Pork Buns- not bad. Can use a bit more filling. 4. Black Golden Egg custard bun- don't be afraid of the color...it's delicious! My childhood favorite!! Hard fo find this filling so I was super excited. It's a sweet bun with a creamy filling. If I had to suggest something it would be to adjust the bun-filling ratio. I thought the bun part was a little thick. Otherwise, yum! 5. Wonton Soup (oops! Forgot to take a photo): I prefer a thinner wrapper but I learned that the thickness of the wrapper differs with different parts of China. So I guess it's just my preference. Overall impression: The Pork Xiao Long Bao and the Black Golden Egg Custard were on point so definitely warrants a return visit. Just glad to have this option so close to home. Perhaps in the future they can expand the menu more by adding other noodle options. read more

Really good dumplings. My only gripe is the steep prices. Other than that it's really good. And service is quick. We ordered to go

I have to agree with other reviewers. The service and food was great, but the lack of cleanliness is a disappointment in this restaurant. The condiment bottles and napkins holder on our table were very dirty, with sticky, dried-on grease. As for the food, the Steamed Bok Choy was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Steamed Pork and Shrimp Dumplings were delicious. Pan-fried Chicken Dumplings were piping hot and very tasty. read more

The food is very good. Their wontons were great! Siu Mai is probably the best local ones I've tried. Even though there's not big competition locally...it's pretty good quality compared to authentic places. Baos were also good especially again considering the location and saving the drive to din tai fung or eloong. The service was great. Nice even though they were really busy. The one downside is the cost. It's very expensive for dim sum and fried rice. Will I go there again? Yes. Would I go a lot more if it wasn't so expensive? Absolutely! It's just too pricey to go as often as I would like unfortunately read more

Saw this place trending on TikTok and decided to give it a try since it's nearby. Big mistake. I should've listened to the other reviews. It was chaos from the moment I walked in. All I wanted was a simple takeout order. I waited at the door, got redirected to the counter, waited in line again, only to be told the kitchen was about to close and that my order would take 40 minutes. I said that was fine, but the cashier replied, "You still want to order? We'll be closing for our lunch break soon." That said it all. She clearly didn't want to take my order and made it obvious. I left without hesitation. There are plenty of other restaurants that actually value their customers. This place needs serious improvement in customer service and organization. I wish them luck, but I won't be back. read more
