Usually I learn about new restaurants and stuff from my friends on Yelp. It seemed that they often were quick to check out new spots and friends of friends were quick to follow. The Elite community isn't quite the same presently so I learned about Dumpling Master from the monthly AAA magazine, Westways. Every month they feature 2-5 restaurants and discuss the best menu items and so on. When my gf came home from work I was like "hey, there's a new dumpling house in Rancho." She perked up and it was on. By 'on' I mean heading out to eat, not what your overactive dirty mind probably devolved to... jk Coordinates were Baseline and Day Creek, a familiar but infrequently visited area. No problem, some usual traffic on the 15 North, then scott free! I was getting those stomach sensations that were either nausea (side-effects from a medication) or just plain hungry and rip rarin' to go. Location: Typical crossroad shopping center, the restaurant was easy to spot on the apex of the intersection. Parking is ample and easy too. Inside is spacious and shows that their opening four months prior was still during Covid-19 restrictions and they still continue to enjoy a steady take-out business. We sat down and the nice guy dropped off menus and returned with the drinks. It didn't take long to select a wide range of items and decided that early dinner was the way to go. The pictures speak for themselves but I am eager to return to try more and revisit some new favorites. Fillings are somewhat duplicated in the dumplings and potsticker choices. Can't lose either way in my opinion, plump, steamed and juicy or steamed, crispy and juicy? The cucumber salad is welcome anytime, so crispy, the tangy marinade is perfect. We could have added hot chili oil but decided to stick with the stock option. A+ The seared pork belly rolls (bao) were juicy with fresh slices of red onions and all kinds of goodness going on in the sauce. Another hit! The dumplings arrived next we had a slight preference for the pork and cabbage stuffed over pork and shrimp, but truthfully, they both rocked! I loved how they brought out the beef and onion potstickers. They pan fried the bottom leaving the top steamed and the combination of textures is phenomenal, not to mention so juicy they squirt when you chomp down. Finally, I must pay homage to the exquisite hand-pulled noodles. Simplicity and austerity are sublime and these lightly seasoned noodles with chili oil were worth the trip even if it's all we got! The leftovers held up well all around, except the cucumber salad and baos because they were eaten on the day of. I'd love to see this place busy Inside once the word gets out. For now I will dream of those plump dumplings and potstickers until I find my way back. read more

I've tried ramen from many different places, and I can honestly say that the ramen here was absolutely disappointing. When I mentioned to the waitress that the ramen was tasteless, she simply replied that "everyone loves it because it's the Japanese way to eat it" and that I was the only one who didn't like it. I guess all the other places I've been to must be cooking ramen wrong then. She didn't ask if there was anything they could do to fix the issue--instead, she seemed offended and walked away. I ended up canceling the rest of my order and paid the bill, but I was still charged for the ramen I didn't eat. A little more courtesy and respect for customers who bring business to the restaurant could go a long way. If you're looking for better food and service, I recommend trying Cup of Noodles down the street at Baseline and Archibald. It's far better than this place. read more

We ordered the beef and onion fried dumplings and with an order of fried rice with eggs. They do have noodles and boba tea drinks too. The $3.99 jasmine rice works well with this friend rice. A good hardy chew was nice to the sweet soft texture yellow egg bits. Enhanced with green onions it tasted fresh. I feel fried rice taste better when it's hot not warm. When cold it's still good but the flavors are more pronounced at higher temperature. And this was at the correct temperature. Hot. We're usied to getting dumplings made with pork and shrimp. So the $10.99 beef & onion was a nice change. A total of 10 pcs grilled in the pan served piping hot. Had to be careful because the juices could squirt out to burn you but that is the best part of the dumplings. It was delicious. For $16.00 + tip this was a superb meal. i literally was full and satisfied eating half the order. This was the 1st meal of the day for me. Very affordable. Must be affordable to do a dumpling party. I had seen this place getting ready to open and made note to try it some time. We had just gotten back from a day out and about so we called ahead and ordered the tonkatsu ramen, fried rice with egg and the shrimp and pork dumplings. The ramen was okay. They have enough meat, but the broth lacked flavor. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Some spice probably would have helped it. The friend rice was exactly that so that was as expected. The shrimp and pork dumplings were alright as well. There was no dipping sauce provided which was odd (I'm used to be being provided some sort of sauce). There wasn't even an chili oil or anything given. The texture was good and the dumplings were filled, but again lacked flavor. Won't be stopping anytime soon. read more

The flavor was very strong, you can taste the beefy soup, pepper corns, and chili oil. It was pretty good. The meat was a little tough for me. I actually like their regular noodles that comes standard with. The noodles were cooked how I liked them, soft and chewy. I also got their passion fruit black tea, refreshing. Not a lot of great Asian options are open on Sundays and because we were in the area, we wanted to try something new. Our trusty Yelp app led us to Dumpling Master. You can never go wrong with a good dumpling and at Dumpling Master, the dumplings and noodles are made fresh to order. From the first bite, it was quite obvious that the noodles and the dumpling are made of the same ingredients as the texture and chew were pretty much identical. What Dumpling Master chose to do with the base dough was transformative. For example, my wife ordered the hand wide pulled noodles which was dressed with garlic, scallions, hot sauce, and bok choy. My order of the clear beef broth noodle soup was fine noodles with slices of beef. We also ordered the beef and cabbage dumpling to try their dumplings which was fresh but the wrapper was a bit on the thicker side. A good tip would be to place an online or phone order about 15-20 minutes ahead of time so the wait time is less. read more

My friend & I love dumplings so it was only right we try this spot when we saw it come up on our feed. The place was very spacious and clean. They were friendly and helpful right from the start. The food was amazing we had the shrimp tempura & house juicy pork buns as starters honestly we could have had one more order of the pork buns they were delicious. Then we also shared two orders of the dumpling potstickers one shrimp & pork and the other was the beef & onion. All too delicious. They have a sauce serving station where you can serve yourself as much of the different dipping sauces as you'd like which was pretty cool too. We saw a lot of other folks ordering their soups but we were already too full. Honestly the only reason I didn't do 5 stars is because we felt rushed when they brought over our receipt early before we even ordered our second set of dumplings. The dumpling posticker here is good! Except they only gave one chili oil. Their black vinegar was not the greatest side sauce so you can skip that. I think they gave me the wrong order. I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup and there was not even a hint of spice. Next time I will pass on the noodle but I would get dumpling potstickers! The beef noodle soup looked like a clear broth and tasted like chicken broth. Their noodles were good though and the veggies. Glad we found this place after our hike up Etiwanda Falls. They had a grand opening sign so we figured we would give them a try. The whole ordering process was simple touch screen menu and the menu is super simple you don't have to go through pages of items and be stuck trying to decide. We went with the Taiwanese staple of spicy beef noodle soup and three orders of dumplings. And let me say the dumplings are steamed just right and packed full of flavor. I went to dumpling master for the 1st time and ordered the following items... cucumber salad, xiao long bao, pork & cabbage potstickers, fried rice and a passion fruit tea. I would give the cucumber salad 5 stars, the xiao long bao, I would give it 1 star, the potstickers I would give it a 4 stars, fried rice 1 star and the tea 1 star. The cucumber salad was the star of the show! The rice was very bland and no flavor. The xiao long bao had an incredibly thick wrapper and the flavor of the actual meat and broth was not up to the standards. The tea was pure concentrate, un drinkable and needs to be water down. It was visually cloudy and super bitter. Not a fan of the dipping sauce station in the back as the bowls are small and difficult to walk with when full. I would recommend providing small trays if that's the route this business wants to continue. I would come back but would only get the potstickers and cucumber salad.
