We have been coming here for years. And I mean like 5 years and I felt it necessary to come back and update my review after our last visit a few days ago. We will start with my beef noodle soup that I always get. The meat was nice and tender like always. The soup however, was nothing but a over salted beef broth. I am used to this being a very flavorful broth that bursts in your mouth with every single bite. Not the case anymore. I did read that there might be a new owner or cook and maybe that explains why the dish was changed. Secondly, my fiancé always gets the same chicken and noodle dish and it's always so much food that we have to take some home. The portion was much smaller this time. Lastly, we came in around 8:30. Restaurant closes at 9:30. Boy howdy if we didn't feel like they wanted us to get the heck out of there. Our server was nice but in a major hurry for us to leave. She didn't even have to say it. We could feel it. Cleaning our table and around it while we were still there. The second our plates are empty, they are gone. The whole rush of the "hurry up and order, eat and get out" feeling was super real. I do not like that. We would have left by 9:30 without any of the rushing around us. I do appreciate that we are still able to bring our own wine in to enjoy with our meal. I just feel that every customer, from the first to the last, should be treated as if they are wanted in the establishment. This place executes quite well what they advertise in their name. Atmosphere wise this place is pretty separate and bland. Service is direct and to the point. Luckily, there English was decent enough that were both understood each other. Steamed buns here are pretty good. Great dough that has a pronounced yeast taste and smell as they probably make their own. Fish dumplings are something I rarely see but they are pretty good here. Not amazing like when taught truffle or pork fat are used but still tasty none the less. Custard buns sucked. They didn't have much filling and fell flat in flavor. Possibly the worst custard bun I've had. Scallion pancakes were even better than what you get at jeng chi! Maximum crispiness with plenty of oily goodness in each bite. read more

We were a little worried when we were waiting for 10 minutes and no one approached us. But as we got seated, the service was quick and the food came out hot and ready for us to dig in. Favorite dishes in order: Beef pancake, pork and cabbage fried dumpling, beef and onion bun, and then the soup dumpling. All the fried dishes had an amazing crust to it. All the food items were moist and juicy on the inside--which we all appreciated. All were nicely seasoned. We needed a spicy kick to it so we drizzled each bite with the chili oil that they had on the table. For me, I personally enjoyed the beef items more than the pork ones, but my fiancé enjoyed the pork more. read more

I can't believe I have not written a review for Dumpling House! Been eating here for years and they consistently have amazing dumplings, Chinese dishes, and appetizers. If you're going to eat here, you must get some dumplings! They have soup dumplings here and I have to say when the steaming basket comes out, it's only a matter of a few minutes before they are all gone! We always get green onion pancake - the kids' favorite and boy are they crunchy and always come out piping hot! We've ordered other dishes like beef flat noodle, beef and broccoli, bok choy with mushroom, eggplant garlic sauce, string bean with pork, just to name a few. We came here on Sunday night. It was still early so there was no wait. We've been to the one in Frisco, but first time here at Plano location. There are good amount of seatings inside and family friendly ambiance. We had beef noodle soup, stir fry noodles, fried rice and beef wraps. I thought the food here was lovely! One of the fewer more authentic Chinese food spots I've had in this metroplex so far. We tried their House Specialty Buns, seaweed & egg soup, pork dumplings, and soup dumplings. Prices for each were very reasonable as were the portion sizes. Soup was warm and hearty, buns were light and juicy, and dumplings were oh so savory. Definitely go for the House Specialty buns here! A great place to share a meal with others. Tucked away in the back corner of this shopping center is a Chinese restaurant that blew away my expectations. I went there on a Thursday night and expected it to be a ghost town, but it was surprisingly filled. Not packed to where it would be unpleasant, but enough people to let me know something was up. And surely enough, after trying the food, I understood why so many people were there. I started with the egg drop soup, which had a nice deep umami flavor to set the tone. Next I tried my standard meal to test a Chinese restaurant: orange chicken with fried rice. The rice was cooked well with nice garnish of egg and garlic, but the real start was the orange chicken. Every bite was succulent, and I could tell they put time into refining the recipe. The flavor profile was a lovely balance of the sweetness from the orange itself (the dish was garnished with real orange peels) and the heat from the chilis. It was the perfect amount of heat for me -- enough to add to the flavor profile but not so much it became overpowering. I finished my meal with what has got to be this place's piece de resistance: chocolate soup dumplings. The chocolate soup dumplings are to die for. They are worth a two hour drive to get to this place. Given this place literally has dumpling in their name I had high hopes, and they exceeded them. The chocolate soup dumplings look like any other soup dumpling, but when you bite into them you are greeted with a rush of molten chocolate that is rich and creamy. These things are crack, I recommend getting one order per person! Overall this restaurant blew my expectations away. The staff was also very friendly, the atmosphere was nice, but the food was the star. I plan on making this place one of my regular go-to's. read more

The dishes are a bit pricey, the portions small, and look nothing like the pictures they have. Beef roll looked like a skinny burrito. Crispy pork were slivers of meat. Came here today for the first time, and decided to do our first post covid dine in. They did a great job limiting the seating, social distancing and cleaning up tables quickly. There's the side entrance for dine in, and front entrance is pick up only. Ambiance: Nice and very friendly service!! Definitely super attentive nowadays! Food: Everything was tasty, but unfortunately they weren't serving any xiao long bao. That's what we were really hoping to try, so hopefully they'll start that up soon. + Signature dumplings: We got the steamed and it was really good + Shrimp and pork dumplings: Steamed for these as well and equally as good = Singapore noodles: Good but a little light on the salt. Tasted great with the hot oil. = Beef chow fun: Good + Beef and tendon noodle soup: Nom nom nom! It was perfect. Flavorful broth, chewy noodles, soft beef and super soft tendon. May be my new favorite in Dallas! = Chive pancakes: Nice crispy dough. If you like chives, this will be good as there are a lot of chives! We have been looking for a great Chinese place to start frequenting and we have finally found our spot!! My husband said the fried dumpling was the BEST he's ever had. The dumplings are delicious! We also ordered the beef pancakes and some combination fried rice and everything was great! Be careful as you eat the beef pancake though as it has the tendency to shoot juices when taking the first bite. Our server warned us of this and I still managed to get it on me somehow. Lesson learned. As for our service, we had the sweetest lady serving us. The wait staff speaks some English, some better then others. When needed, the manager/owner is available to make suggestions and accommodate customers. So fresh and you can certainly tell with the first bite. I had the Fried Pork and Shrimp Dumplings my very first visit years ago. I continue to have some variation of this dumpling every visit. We had the pig ears and was presently surprised at how well they tasted. They are served cold. The vinegar dipping sauce is brought to you with your order. It contains fresh grated ginger. You need the ginger to experience the full taste of the dumpling. There's the typical soy sauce, pepper flakes in oil, Chinese vinegar, and sriracha located at the table. Met a friend here for dinner as we'd never tried authentic dumplings before. We were very excited and hungry. The place was mildly busy and we were seated relatively quickly. Sadly, the service after this did not match the quality of the food and we've decided it was bad enough that we won't be coming back. We either felt neglected and as though we had to constantly flag someone down for service OR we felt rushed and hurried out the door. It took well over 20 min to get a simple glass of water in the middle of our meal. The waitress seemed perturbed every time we flagged her down and she wasn't friendly and warm as you'd expect/want a server to be. This was very off-putting for our first time. Near the end of the meal, we ordered additional food to-go. The check was dropped and my friend immediately paid with a credit card. We sat there a little longer to finish our drinks and to continue to talk. The female server seemed to rush us out the door and it was nowhere near closing time! We had not finished signing the credit card receipt or leaving a tip but the woman hastily cleared our table along with the payment. A few minutes later we were questioned by a gentleman as to why we didn't leave a tip!! Excuse me?!?! Who does that?!?! Had the server not whisked away the payment and exercised a little more patience, a tip would have eventually appeared when we were done. I wish the service had been better because the food was good. And with the amount of food industry competition this area and surrounding areas have... poor service will quickly drive patrons to other places. Unprofessional. Poor communication among the staff. And the employees could use some training in what excellent customer service should look like.
