We entered the Restaurant and where seated in the front,turns out that every time a new customer would come in a gist of ice cold air would blow through the entire business. Never the less we continued to stay in anticipation of the food. The waitress asked u for drinks and offered drinks. The menu only displayed bubble teas so my wife inquired about other drinks. In the rear she pointed out a fridge that contained two kind of apple juice and a few soda can's. My wife decided on an apple juice and I selected hot tea. I poured a cup and well the tea was merely Luke warm. We ordered a two large bowls of chicken noodle soup two orders spicy cucumbers which where ok also my wife expected them to be fermented. Finally we got one bowl of chicken noodle soup instead of the two we ordered ,luckily only one order arrived. This was by far the most bland unseasoned chicken soup with 2 pieces book Choy we have ever tasted. The chicken was undercooked and weirdly shaped also unseasoned terrible tasting, evoking us to joke about Chinese plastic foods. We've eaten here before and it was edible.What happened! Went for take-out lunch and ordered the pork, mushroom and Napa cabbage dumplings, the chicken fried rice and friends ordered the veggie fried rice and chicken chow mien. All the food was really good, the dumplings were steamed and amazing!! I shared the dumplings with many people, all of whom loved them. The rice had great flavor (while maybe a tad too greasy for my taste, but I still ate it all). I tried the chow mein and the noodles were thick with great flavor. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Parking is a bit difficult, but worth the trouble of eating there. Will definitely go again. read more

Thank god, we finally found a Chinese restaurant near our home that isn't disgusting. I feel a little spoiled coming from a city where everything is very good or better. My wife and I went to D.G. anticipating to have good food judging by the reviews that we've read. We ordered the spicy beef hot pot, pork,shrimp & chive dumpling and the cold cucumber appetizer. I must echo a couple of reviews that I've read that the beef hot pot was bland. The broth was lacking flavor, I had to dump a heaping of the chili oil just to give it some flavor. The dumpling was so-so, nothing to back there for, it also was bland. The only memorable dish was the spicy cucumber appetizer. The prices were high considering other area eateries. It was $40.00 for the 2 of us. We would not go back there. Two stars for the place would be more than generous. There is a Korean restaurant next door that I would go to instead. read more

I really enjoyed Dumpling Generation. The place was very clean, and the food was delicious. The food was significantly less heavy and less oily than at other Asian food places. The chicken/mushroom/napa steamed dumplings were delicious. We also had the beef noodle soup, which was less salty than other noodles soups I've had in the area, and had noodles with good consistency. This was a great experience overall. My buddy and I came here under the impression that this was primarily a dumpling House and had many options for dumplings. We were a bit disappointed at first to find out they only had three different dumpling options all of which were pork. we ordered the pork and celery and the pork and chive both steamed. We also decided to get an order of the spicy chicken with rice. We were surprised that our server provided us with a sampler of cold noodles, thin cut potatoes, and seaweed. All of which were very good and was great for snacking before our main dishes came out. The chicken came first. It had great flavor, moderate heat, and was cooked perfectly. we were very impressed. The dumplings came out next, there were separate sauces for each kind of dumpling, I also prefer spicy oil with my dumplings which they had here. The pork and celery were very good especially with the sauce provided. The pork and chive were incredible, excellent dumplings. overall great experience, The owner came over and spoke to us and was very friendly. The food exceeded our expectations, and well the lack of dumpling options was a little disappointing, the dumplings available as well as the other food was excellent. The service was very good. Wanted to try a new place nearby and have to say this place was by far the worst service I've ever had. Our server was really rude and told us we were wasting her time. Then she walked away in the middle of telling her our orders, the restaurant wasn't even busy, there were at most 4 tables of people. We knew what we wanted and were in the middle of telling her our orders but apparently she wasn't happy that we didn't say the order fast enough. Eventually when she came back I ordered pork chow mein and there was barely any pork in it. The food was nothing special and actually pretty wet and greasy. Overall overpriced and not worth it for what you get at other places. Should have just gotten up and left after she walked away from us. Don't waste your time going here. read more

I used to work nearby here, and coming in for a cup of hot jasmine tea and some noodles was my favorite lunch on a dreary cold day. Now that I've moved further north I don't get to stop by as often as I'd like, but when I do always make the resolution to come more often! The restaurant is spotlessly clean, and the food delicious, but the friendly atmosphere is what brings me back. Even after months at a time Su always recognizes me, brings me my favorite dish (spicy potato slices) as the appetizer and asks how I'm doing. I've tried a number of things on the menu but I would recommend the double mushroom-- a huge plate of sauteed shiitake and crimini with the perfect amount of garlic and chili oil. All of the noodle dishes are great as well. If you're in the area and craving Chinese food look no further! read more

Pineapple fried rice had absolutely no flavor, just a couple of pineapple chunks and a squirt of ketchup mixed in. Steamed dumplings were so-so, the frozen ones I get at Ranch 99 or H-mart are better. Beef noodle soup was actually pretty good. Service was good. Felt sorry for the waiter as the two women in back kept ordering him around why they did nothing. Go somewhere else. There is a great Korean restaurant right next door (Hosoonyi). My wife is from Shanghai and she says we will never go back to Dumpling Generation. read more
