This like a regular Americanized Chinese food place, but food actually tastes surprisingly good! It has a huge parking lot full of free parkings. Sesame beef is fried beef tossed in sweet soy sauce, and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend! Hot and sour soup is a little too sour in my opinion. I wanted to like this place. Came here for lunch. Was greeted in a rushed manner and seated. Did not feel welcomed even though restaurant was only 25% full. In the past, my family would occasionally come here. So I was looking forward to reliving some good memories. Unfortunately, waited at least twenty minutes to place my lunch order. Perhaps my palate has matured. The egg flower soup that came with lunch was watery and bland. The shrimp with vegetables had shrimp that tasted freezer burned and were very tough. The fried rice was oily and had mixed vegetables. Not authentic, like they opened a bag of frozen mixed veggies. I usually pay the bill with my card and pay the tip in cash. Waited another 20 minutes to pay bill. By this time, I was the only person in the restaurant. Gave my server my card and was scolded for not leaving a tip. Just unfortunate experience overall. Low quality food and inadequate service. I can't see ever coming back here again. read more

Chopsticks in Edmonds was a place we frequented moderately heavily with my Grandmother Rosemary for a variety of occasions when she was alive. They did not mind if we brought presents and spent a little extra time conversing, not rushing us out after we finished our entrees. Food has been consistently good and wait times have varied depending on the busyness of the restaurant. At the current location, on 100th Avenue West by Herfy's, the tables by the windows have been a nice place to sit and watch the traffic as we eat. The place settings have been consistent with the theme of the restaurant and all of my family members have found enjoyment at some time or another in being reminded of the different animals of the Zodiac and what they mean/symbolize. read more

Got the #2 dinner. Very bland. Other than the Hot and sour soup and barbecue pork, which were very good, the rest all seemed to taste the same . A side order of white rice was ordered and the scoop of rice was fairly mushy. Used to like coming here, not so much now. The Mai Tais are legendary and powerful. Service excellent. The service here is really nice! They're kind and attentive, but not intrusive like at some places. You get complimentary tea (not sure what kind, maybe an oolong) which is very tasty. The person I was with got one of their dinner combos which was priced great for how much food you get. I got the crispy duck, which was amazing and so flavorful. It's hard to find a place that does good duck. Sorry for the picture of the duck, it was half eaten at that point haha. The decor might be a little dated for those who care about that stuff, but it's proof this place has been here for ages and has stood the test of time! I found it charming and comfortable. Very American Chinese restaurant the kind I grew up loving. I don't know how much of this is authentic from Hong Kong or Mainland China, but it's comfort food for us who grew up in the states. Tonight we wanted soup so our favorite is the Hot & Sour Soup. It's kind of spicy but we love spicy food! We weren't terribly hungry but something with a little more substance would hold us over until tomorrow. So I ordered a fried chicken wings. They were very tasty! When I'm really hungry I like the vegetarian egg foo young. Again, not very authentic, but very tasty! A pot of hot oolong tea is always served and much appreciated on a cold & rainy evening. So as a child growing up in Edmonds this was my family's place for Chinese food (back when it was across the street). Our family would always get the almond chicken. I am doing a play at a theater up the street and when I looked at the Yelp photos I noticed the amazing looking potstickers. So this review is for one single item....the POTSTICKERS. I have an obsession with homemade pork potstickers. Sadly so many places use frozen...and those are not even worth eating. The best I have had are from Snappy Dragon in Seattle. 2nd place goes to Johnny Wok in Lynnwood. So I popped in before rehearsals and got an order of potstickers to go and THEY ARE AMAZING. This is a great local establishment with really good Chinese American cuisine. Most people wouldn't even know it exists because it's kind of in a hard to see location. The back of the restaurant has a intimate bar and lounge seating area which is great if you want to get away from crowds, or just enjoy a quiet meal by yourself or with friends. My husband was been bragging this place for a long time as his childhood Chinese food as he was growing up on this area. When I moved here he took me to chopsticks for dinner. I didn't say anything but my husband was embarrassed because the food wasn't that good. My food is better by far. Since then we never go back. My husband and I found Chopsticks about a year ago. I can't believe it took us so long to find this little gem. The food is always constant. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's old school American- Chinese food. There is one special server there who always seems to know what I want and how I want it it. I wish I knew her name but she is such a sweetheart. As a customer since 2008 I'm now compelled to write. The food changes - like there's a different cook at times. Sometimes the hot n sour is just that - hot n sour, or like my last visit it was like eating straight vinegar - nothing else. The Mongolian Chicken, which isn't on their menu but they'll make it, was horrible - some gray thick gravy and huge chunks of chicken, and little taste. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken and ended up with chicken coated in some orange sauce and nothing else - certainly not KPC. Over the 16 years this has happened a lot - the order was wrong, or the food sub-par. Then at times they hit it just right. Consistency is important in a food service establishment, and this was the final straw - I'm done. read more

Decent food for cheap, large portions and open till 10 pm which is rare in Edmonds. Would be 5 stars if I hadn't had to ask for the check and the fortune cookie that was part of my meal, no big deal. Also asked for chopsticks twice and then they never showed up, again, no big deal. The bar is a bit of a dive with worn out seating that is mismatched but it's comfortable, they have TV's for sports if you're into that and while the dining room closes down early for dinner, you can still order food in the bar. If you're a big time foodie, letting you know you won't find real Chinese here; this is all Americanized versions. However, I like this sometimes and they do a good job. For example, on my recent visit, I ordered the number 3 combo for a single person which came with a cup of won ton soup, an egg roll, a couple slices of BBQ pork, and then a freaking huge serving of chicken chow mein, sweet and sour shrimp, and pork fried rice. The obligatory egg roll too, of course. All this for $13.75 pretax. There's no way I could've eaten this whole thing if I hadn't been sick and not eaten the whole rest of the day and my friend with me also ate most of the BBQ pork and half the eggroll - really not much help there friend. Would totally come back here and eat more. I like this place. It's warm, inviting and the food, the most important thing, is good. read more

Hello again yelpers! The family group visited Chopsticks again for a birthday party. Our game plan is always the same: select what 2 or more diners will enjoy. I asked to include veggie egg fuyoung. This was the first time we tried this dish. Surprisingly, it was loved by all! It is offerred in several choices, shrimp, pork, beef, vegetable. We chose the veggie selection. It comes with a sauce that is very tasty. Since there were so many of us to serve, three of the wait staff were kept busy with our menu choices. It was, as usual, a very pleasant evening. For me, the nostalgia element is a big part of my Chopsticks experience. :) I've been coming here off and on since I was a kid! I especially appreciate that they offer combo meals (including for takeout). My niece and I love getting a couple of the single combos--we'll vary it up each time--for takeout, and particularly love the wonton soup and barbecued pork. So tasty! read more

Tonight is my last visit here from now on. I spent almost $30 for one person for just a single dinner item (the rice must be ordered separately). I've come here before because I enjoy eating alone and being left undisturbed. The mapo tofu is my favorite order. It's simple fare but flavorful. But prices have gone up and the $3.00 drink was mostly ice. There was barely any liquid to gulp down. I was charged for the refill which was mostly ice too. That did it. I'll miss the mapo tofu but charging $6.00 for mostly ice is highway robbery. I did bring up the issue and was reluctantly refunded for the refill, so I can't go back there again. It's no surprise the place was far from full on a weekend night and that I was the only Asian customer around. The regulars may not mind the shabby, outdated decor, and the steep dinner prices; they're grateful for the complimentary tea, I guess. read more

My husband and I ate here on a Friday night and opted to sit in the lounge area. The main restaurant was pretty busy with families so we enjoyed the option of the lounge with a more laid back vibe. The place is definitely older but has a charm. There were apparently so many regulars as everyone kept saying hello and hugging new people that came in. It was very sweet and a nice atmosphere. My husband ordered the #1 special which hopefully I am remembering right but I believe it came with: wonton soup, spring roll and bbq pork ribs as an appetizer, then sweet and sour pork with pork fried rice and chicken chow mein. He said it was good, probably not the best he has ever had but a good value and taste for the price. I ordered the Mongolian beef and a side of steamed rice, which ended up being fantastic. The onions mixed in the beef were soooooooo good. Really delicious. Entrees on their own with added rice ended up being a little expensive, so the combo options are a nice alternative if you like the provided options. Our tab was accidentally tabulated wrong and had another tables drinks included in the price, but it was a busy night so I'm sure it was just an accident and they fixed it quickly for us. Edmond's is a place I can say I have been to maybe 3 times before today. A friend of mine started working near here so we decided to check this place out. As you know, good Chinese food is hard to find, so let's see how this place stacks up. I was happy to hear the dining room was open, sounds like they just recently reopened it. I was immediately impressed, Everyone wore masks and gloves and everything came from the kitchen. By everything, I mean salt, pepper, soy sauce, sugar, etc. One thing that has bothered me is no one has condiments anymore do to Covid. The fact that these guys brought everything out of the kitchen made me feel like everything was being wiped down between meals. Our order was taken right away, I dig that. Too many places hand you a menu, walk away and come back when you hunger is out of control. I may be a bit different, but I always check menu's online and I'm ready to order the minute I hit the door. Why not, that's what take out orders do. I had a dinner combo. Almond Chicken, Fried Rice, Chow Mein, Egg Roll, Wonton Soup and BBQ Pork. She left and came back immediately with the soup. Another bonus point. Some places wait as long as the meal to bring the soup. Let's be honest, it simmers all day, so bring me my damn soup! Soup was pretty good, I'd give it a 4/5. The stock wasn't as salty as I like, but it was still better than most. The Wontons were meaty and flavorful. We also had Potstickers and they weren't far behind. Also meaty, flavorful and cooked perfectly. I like everything hot, and asked for hot oil. What she brought me was a Sriracha sauce, since I think Sriracha is gross. I wasn't happy about that, but I decided to taste it since the color and texture said homemade. It was amazing. Things made fresh taste completely different than anything commercial. For example, if you have ever had real teriyaki sauce, made with pineapple juice, brown sugar and bean sauce, you will never eat a commercial sauce again. This sauce was made in house, full of flavor and fire. I guess you can call it the unpasteurized hot sauce. I'd still prefer chili oil, but wouldn't hesitate to try this sauce again. When the meal came, my eyes almost popped out of my head, reviewers that claimed it was a big portion did not lie. It was a mound of food. Granted it was a lot of rice, and veggies in the Chow Mein but I knew I was not leaving hungry. Speaking of the Chow Mein, it was top shelf. So many crunchy vegetables, it was almost like chop suey and the subgum sauce was perfect. The almond chicken was crisp and they set it in gravy instead of pouring it all on top. I liked that, kept one side crisp. The gravy like the soup could have used a little salt, but again, it was better than most. When I eat, I drink and I could probably drink a gallon of water with my meal. Unfortunately, they didn't really keep an eye on us after we were served. I was super thirsty and had to drink tea. I love tea, but water is always my go to. The lack of water is really the one thing I would change about the meal if I could. I have had Chinese is about every city between Bellingham and Olympia and can say if I had to rank the many dozens of places, Chopsticks would be top 5 easy, if not top 3. The food was amazing, prices fair and the service could not have been any friendlier This is one of those places every neighborhood needs and the people of Edmond's should be thankful to have such a great cultural restaurant in their back yard. I really don't like giving 5's for a first time experience, and I would have loved more service after the meal, but I can't deny how good the food was and how sincerely friendly the staff was as well. For every 4 star review I gave for poor service or slightly flawed food, these guys easily cleared the bar. read more

I have been here a few times- THe last times it wasn't that delicious but tonight I got a combo meal to go. The Hot and Sour soup ( sub'd for the Won Ton ) was DELICIOUS and it tasted so fresh. I swear the tofu was lightly grilled and it just all came together perfectly. I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pork Fried Rice and Chicken Chow Mein ( I think I paid a extra $1 or so to substitute some items ) The sweet and sour sauce came in a container on the side and actually had pineapple pieces it it which was nice. EVERYTHING was totally yummy and even the egg roll and two small pieces of BBQ pork THe flavors were on point and my last experience in which the service was really bad and food just OK is forgiven. I did order though in the bar, and had a Mai Tai while waiting. It was delicious and perfectly balanced and the bartender was very friendly and nice. She was totally busy ( Thursday night, around 7pm ) but she made me feel welcome being alone- I will be back- This is my new favorite place in the Edmonds area ! read more
