PEKING WONTONS
Jessica G.

Ordered online for takeout and it was delicious! Ready very quickly, as well. We got the chicken dumplings (fried), pork dumplings (steamed), pork wontons (steamed), short rib buns, and pork fried rice. All very good but my favorite was easily the pork dumplings- whatever sauce on it was amazing! Finished the meal with their oreo cheesecake- SO yummy!!

CHICKEN WONTONS - delicious!
Asma A.

I ordered Dumpling Dojo delivery. I got the chicken wontons and general Tso's chicken bowl with brown rice. The good: everything was packaged well. The wontons were delicious and juicy and I would definitely get them again and try other ones. The general Tso's remained crispy despite the travel. The not so good: the general Tso's was very crunchy, yes, but there was way too much breading to chicken. My jaw actually ached while eating because I was doing so much hard chewing. There was no reprieve of juicy chicken. The sauce was not like any other general Tso's sauce I've had. It was very tangy and not spicy and just didn't really taste familiar. The brown rice was just not good-- it was very dry and stale and pebbly. The vegetables were actually really bad. I think there was some wilted lettuce in there? The mushrooms had a dirt taste and it just was very unpleasant. I think that I would try this again and revise my review after having more of the dumplings. The wontons were genuinely exceptional. I was kind of surprised of how vastly different of an experience I had between the two items I bought. It makes me think that the chicken might be a one-off. We'll see!

I didn't meet a dumpling at this place that I didn't love. I love the spicy ones the most. They have pretty good soup dumpling. But what steals the spot light here is the bao buns. The spicy shrimp have my heart. This place is a thrills place - definitely not first date vibes but definitely good food vibes. The service rocks as both times Young L was my server and his recommendation made me leave a happy camper.

SCALLION PIE was good!

Just checked Dumpling Dojo with my daughter and one of her friends. We went on a holiday Monday night at around 6:30 and had a bit of a wait for a table. They were also doing some takeout business. I deliberated between 4 and 5 stars and rounded up because our waitress Jennifer was just that good. Very personable and helpful with the menu. I could tell that there were regulars at some of the tables, on a first name basis with the staff. The decor is trendy and colorful but it's certainly a casual neighborhood vibe. To put it in context, it's not a Chinese restaurant, it's a dumplings/small plates kind of place. I definitely enjoyed the dumplings more than the soup dumplings. The flavor of the soup dumplings is solid but they felt a bit small and uniform, compared to some of the other soup dumplings I've had, the pork belly appetizer was also quite nice. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I also stole a few sesame chicken pieces from my daughter and her friend. They are really nice and crispy, with a reasonable amount of sauce. Solid enjoyable meal!

GENERAL TAOS CHICKEN DUMPLINGS

My husband mentioned this new spot that opened less than 5 minutes from our home. We ordered online and picked up our food. When we picked up the staff was very nice and quick. Inside, the restaurant has high tables and chairs and was pretty packed! It was clean and had a modern look & feel. Now, let's talk about the food. WOW! Kimchi is one of my faves and this kimchi was on point! The sauce on the dumplings and sesame chicken were perfect and not too sweet! My husband and I preferred the filling on the dumplings in the dumpling soup vs the general Tao's chicken, but everything was still absolutely delicious and packed a flavorful punch. Will definitely be returning!

CAJUN PORK CHOP BOWL

Amazing food, everything is really good. I love the spicy ramen with the Cajun pork chop that's my favorite. The pork chop is amazing great flavor and no fat. Prices are unbeatable also cheap and you get a lot of food will definitely leave full. You sit yourself. Very small inside maybe 10 tables. The service is outstanding and food comes out fast.

Pork Soup Dumplings - Someone is happy

Dumpling Dojo was delicious and for having the name "dumpling" in it I was very satisfied with the taste of their dumplings. Just wish their soup dumplings were a tad bigger, they were a lot smaller than I expected. Pros - Service was very friendly - Food was very tasty Cons - Street parking - A bit pricey My favorites were their steamed pork dumplings, crispy crème shrimp, and their soup dumplings were good but like I said the size was small not your average size. Overall, service was great, food came out pretty quick. The kids loved it and I'll definitely come back and try more things to feed my belly!

Small bright venue with cool murals. Metered street parking, unfortunately not much of it. Bright fast paced venue. We came here after where we went 1st told us we'd have a 1hr wait. I remembered being sent this place on IG, & was glad to find it was only 4 minutes from where we were. Service was decent paced, staff were friendly & attentive. The food was good. I'd say it's a nice place to try if you're in the area. We had the Beef French Onion Ramen (sometimes referred to a Short Rib French Onion Ramen), steamed General Tso Dumplings, Short Rib Buns, & the General Tso Bowl w/butter Ramen option. Everything was pretty evenly matched, so no standout dishes. Overall, it was a nice experience. Grades: Beef French Onion Ramen: C+ General Tso Bowl (w/Butter Ramen): B+ General Tso Dumplings (Steamed): C Short Rib Buns: B+

Chicken Lettuce Wrap

Great staff, great food and a quaint little spot in Rutherford. My first but def not my last time here. This place makes great tapas of Asian food. Wife and I tried the lettuce wraps, Taos chicken, Szechuan wonton (pan fried), shrimp wontons (steamed w ginger & soy) & short rib French onion ramen bowl ( spicy) everything was absolutely delicious & priced very reasonably. Looking forward to my next visit

Let me start with the constructive feedback- and if you are still reading based on the scoring- you clearly want to try this place. -Wish there was a more accessible entry- not stroller friendly. -Wish some of their dishes came with sauce to dip in since a lot of it is finger friendly. -Wish their menu didnt label all the seafood items as vegetarian. Now the good, because a little bit of lifting and asking can help with the above! Service was amazing. Our server was super informative and guided us on our culinary excursion. Szechuan Ravioli- spicy vinaigrette so may be a little on the sour side for some, nice crisp on the outside Fried Rice- serviceable, not much to it Impossible Duck Bun - vegetarian, nice flavor profile and a good bite Vegetable Bowl - lots of veggies and a choice of noodles or rice. Get the noodles. Shanghai Wontons- we ordered this last but we should have done this first... and in multiples. My fav dish because I am a sucker for spicy peanut sauce. Spicy Vegetable Bun- also a great bun, cant go wrong with any of them really. Nice sauté on the vegetables and great flavor. If you made it this far....go! Get those shanghai wontons to start and see where your journey takes you!

Sesame chicken with fried rice

Busy place with friendly service, and trendy music. Food came out fairly quick and it was hot and tasty. Chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We also had the short rib buns, I highly recommend them. The bun was soft and slightly sweet and had the just the right amount of short ribs with sauce and a cabbage topping. Limeade drink was also very good! Good option for future takeout.

GRILLED CHICKEN BOWL
Nikko A.

Dumpling dojo is next level fire. I tried the grilled chicken with fried rice and was blown away. The grilled chicken was seasoned to perfection and the fried rice was delicious and some of the best I've ever had. The pork in the fried rice was so high-quality that it could have been its own dish. We also got the general tso's dumplings and they were also unreal. The sauce was so good and the quality of the dumpling was amazing. Like Arnold said - I will be back!

I had to show the price because I'm still dumbfounded.

They have an extensive menu with sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, noodles, soup, salads, fusion appetizers, etc. They even have some Korean items like bulgogi, sundubu, and bibimbap. Prices are reasonable. I called and placed a take-out order near closing time. The employee was accommodating, pleasant, and told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I drove over and was able to find street parking easily. The interior is casual and spacious, but a little dreary and outdated. They have exposed brick walls, wood tables, and hanging light fixtures. My food was prepared on time. I ordered: *Salmon Lover - 4 pieces of sushi, 4 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece roll ($20.50) *Tuna Lover - 4 pieces of sushi, 4 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece roll ($20.50) The salmon and tuna were fresh in taste, texture, and smell. Vibrant colors, firm and smooth textures, and delicate flavors! The sushi rolls had the right fish to rice ratio. The rice could've been more seasoned. The miso soup was warm, savory, and comforting. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but it did the job of satisfying my cravings. I would return to try their special rolls!

A few of us had been talking about trying it for a while, and it totally lived up to the hype. The vibe inside was welcoming and comfortable, and the whole hot pot experience made lunch feel like something fun and different instead of just a quick meal. We picked a broth and then ordered a bunch of meats, vegetables, and noodles to share. Everything tasted really fresh, and the broth was full of flavor from the start and got even better as we kept cooking. It's the kind of place where you end up trying a little bit of everything, and it's perfect for a group because everyone can customize their own bites. We also appreciated that it didn't feel rushed, even though it was lunchtime. Service was great too. The staff was friendly, checked on us often enough without hovering, and helped explain options for anyone who hadn't done hot pot before. That made a big difference, especially with a bigger group. By the time we finished, we were already talking about coming back. I definitely plan to return soon with my family, and I can also see myself bringing a few colleagues here as well. It's a great spot for catching up, doing a casual group lunch, or just getting a really satisfying meal.

And they have a plastic display of their dishes that received some oohs and aahs from other customers. A great marketing ploy. The line itself would have been enough to deter me from this place, but it probably does have some of the better food in the food court. Since they only have one order kiosk and people can take awhile, the wait is a little longer than desired. We enjoyed the tender garlic chicken rice bowl and the ramen bulgogi bowl, though they predictably caused thirst later on. Not a cheap experience but the food court is better than your typical fast food one. When you order you also take a beeper and you'll wait a bit to get your food. The seating doesn't seem that big but you can usually find a spot, not sure if that's because people don't linger or they do takeout and don't sit.
