The food is delicious, some of the best Chinese food I've had, around here and in the city. The homemade iced tea could be sold in super markets, it's perfect. Friendly owners too! read more

Ya Food Chan's Wok - Homemade ice tea... and it's delicious! - Chinese Near Me - Lodi, New Jersey

We ordered 2 combos, a small wonton soup, steamed dumplings, and fried wonton. For me, the dumplings and my white meat sesame chicken with fried rice were the stars. I'd skip the soup and other apps. The pork lomein combos was just ok. The egg rolls were not greasy but lacked flavor. The fried wonton were not crispy. The soup chicken broth tasted odd to me. read more

Americanized Chinese food that could be MUCH better. As a Chinese American, I've had my fair share of legitimate Chinese food in my lifetime and love Chinese food. However, I will also say that I've also had my fair share of Americanized Chinese food. Most Chinese people probably wouldn't be too proud of that fact, but I consider myself a man of every food. I don't discriminate just because a twist doesn't make a food authentic - yah dig? If it taste good, it taste good, even if not authentic. With that said, I do want my Americanized Chinese food to taste just as good as any I've had in the past and, unfortunately, Ya Food Chan's just didn't cut it for me. Maybe it'll do for you, but, for me, I've had much, much better. First off, as you'd expect with most local Americanized Chinese restaurants, this place can sure use a makeover. Honestly, it almost feels like a health risk every time I have Americanized Chinese food anywhere because some spots can look sketchy and Ya Food might be teetering on that border. I am glad to report though that I am 100% healthy and the food was fine. As for the menu, it has all of your typical favorites - Chicken and Broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, Egg Foo Young, etc., etc., etc. The menu was pretty typical of all Americanized Chinese restaurants. My wife and I decided to take a chance and we came here to order a few lunch specials and misc. items: Chicken with Mixed Vegetable Lunch Special Egg Foo Young Lunch Special Beef with Black Bean Sauce Lunch Special Pork Dumpling Hot and Sour Soup Typically, when we order Americanized Chinese food, we order from the Lunch Special menu and, shockingly, the prices were pretty much on par with other restaurants we had been too when we lived in NYC. From 11am-3:30pm, their lunch specials go into effect for anywhere from $7.15-$8.00. In addition, their lunch specials come with white, roast pork or vegetable fried rice and a choice of wonton, egg drop soups or an egg roll/soda. So, the prices are reasonable, but, unfortunately, the food was blah. In no way, am I expecting a 5 star meal, but the flavors were just off. The Egg Foo Young itself was fine, but the sauce for it did not taste good. It definitely was not what I have been accustomed to. The roast pork fried rice with our specials were OK. As for the soups, wonton, egg drop and hot & sour - all a real disappointment. All of them were watery and not very flavorful. Like I said, I don't expect a 5 star meal when eating at such an establishment, but I would expect better flavors for what it is. Americanized Chinese food is sort of my guilty pleasure and there was no pleasure eating the food we ordered. I'm hoping this was a one off and I might give them another shot, but there are also plenty of other Americanized Chinese restaurants in NJ that I would like to give a chance before coming back. read more

Ya Food Chan's Wok - Shrimp in garlic sauce - Chinese Near Me - Lodi, New Jersey

its also called Ya Food Zhengs Garden, beware all the review you see are lies I learned that lesson today and it cost me $53. The most disgusting food I have ever had. I am traumatized and scarred for life. Egg roll was disgusting had this weird smell hardly any filling it was burnt and cooked in old oil. The cheese won-tons where hardly any filling weird shape hard to eat. The steamed dumplings where stuffed with an almost raw shredded cabbage that smelled very strange it has no yum in its filling so bland I felt like I was eating wet cornstarch with grass. The scallion Chinese pizza had no scallions you can squeeze the oil out of the triangle shaped flat fried dough. The vegetable lo mien was not flavorful no sauce very dry like brown spaghetti with broccoli. I got free diarrhea and two cokes. read more

This Chinese takeout spot is a little gem! I purchased 10 combination platters today for some people doing work for me and everyone loved it! The service at the store was fantastic. The food had a lot of flavor and the sauces were delicious!! Much appreciated. Thank you read more

We ordered from this place today and my order is chicken with cashews combo was the worst I've ever tasted. The chicken was dry and I dare say may have been yesterday's chicken as it was dry and tasteless. In fact the entire dish was tasteless. Definitely not ordering from Ya Foods in Lodi. read more

One of the better Chinese restaurants. When ordering anything chicken base, always order it white meat. You'll thank me later

Ambiance/Decor/Atmosphere: Typical Americanized Chinese take out with a dank kind of dirty interior that should be cleaned once in a while. The dirty screen door filled with dust comes to mind. There are a few tables inside to dine in if you wanted to. Noise/sound level: I gather most patrons are ordering take out, so the only real sounds you'll hear are chefs cooking, and counter help taking phone or in person orders. Nothing out of the ordinary or distracting should you dine in. Menu: Typical Americanized Chinese type of menu with a few offerings not seen anywhere else. Like, coral chicken, curry delight, and others. Service: Very friendly, warm, polite, and punctual with ticket times. Food: I mean not bad, could be better. Ordered coral chicken and some chicken was rubbery and tough; makes me think the chicken is old. No red peppers as the menu states, only green. So basically the dish was supposed to be a spicy pepper chicken dish, but after asking for extremely spicy the food was not even remotely spicy. Wife ordered sesame chicken combo and received chunks of white meat coated in sweet and sour sauce with sesame seeds on the chicken. A different take but seemed like a short cut deviation from the real thing. Chicken wings were fine, could be fresher, a little dry, maybe over cooked or a day old. My wife's egg roll was crunchy and tasty. Portion sizes seem to be larger here than other restaurants of the same caliber. Bar: NA Price: Typically priced as you would normally expect. Overall: One might think having China Town Gourmet across the street from Ya Food is bad idea but both restaurants offer different items. It's entirely possible to enjoy a meal from both places. However, the culinary skill at China Town Gourmet edges Ya Food slightly. I definitely will order again from Ya Food as there are more intriguing menu items. read more

I was staying at a local hotel and not being from the area I did not want to drive in rush hour traffic. Everything I ordered for delivery was hot and yummy. The delivery person was friendly and professional. I ordered off the appetizer and main menu. I enjoyed the food. Great experience. read more

Disgustingly enough I probably order here at least once a week. I crave their food all the time! I always order for delivery but I've visited their location once for pick-up. I always order the honey boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice. I've had friends order chicken with broccoli and sesame chicken and they rave about the food as well. At times the delivery can take a bit long while other times they come quick. It can be a hit or miss but it won't stop me from ordering there. read more

Really solid Chinese takeout. The food was delivered rather quick so the food was hot and tasty. My coworkers all were surprised at at how delicious the food was. Compliments to the chef! read more

They don't deliver to us but it's always worth the short drive from Carlstadt to Lodi. Food is always on point and the price is right.

New owners food is not good anymore. The pork fried rice had no pork in it, chicken and broccoli was all broccoli and the egg rolls are half the size. read more

Do not order. They will ignore your requests and pass You off to grub hub and vice versa Grub hub told me well did you state "you're allergic to mushrooms and water chestnuts ?" And I replied I pution put under Special instructions " NO WATER CHESTNUTS OR MUSHROOMS PLEASE ADD JUST MORE NOODLES" They told me call restaurant for refund to which the restaurant I will not recommend off of customer service alone I was told I would get a refund and never did - grub hub said call restaurant Both grub hub and the restaurant played this game . I do not advise ordering from here if you want the correct items you restaurant for refund and they said they have no way to refund me because they can't see my card details. I call again today to grub hub and because it's over 24 hours they can't refund me when I contacted BOTH the same day the order was placed and kept checking to see if the order was refunded. Used to be my favorite Chinese take-out. I am guessing they sold and have new owners that went cheap but are selling at higher prices or fired their cooks. Went there today and the food was TASTELESS AND HORRIBLE. Looks like the cheapest quality of food. Lo mein tasted like air and the noodles were super thick. I also ordered fried rice that had no flavor, the egg in it looked fake. The worst was the chicken & broccoli. The chicken tasted like pure sodium and MSG. Worst of all, I had pieces that were under cooked!! I had to literally spit it out. Coming from the BEST take out and now the WORST that I have had is tragic! They just lost a long time customer & now I have to find a new take-out. Very sad and disappointed! read more

Decided to give them one more chance since everyone is entitled to a bad day. Huge mistake. Same situation (waiting over an hour and a half for delivery from a restaurant five minutes away), same lies when I call (saying it's "on the way" when it's clearly not). Never again. I don't know how this place stays open. Correction: OVER TWO HOURS LATER and still no delivery. Unbelievable. read more

Ordered from this restaurant. 3 hours later, no delivery. No phone call. Nothing. They just didn't show up. Of course, they remembered to charge my card. Last time ever. There are too many just as good or much much better places to pick from in the local area to waste time on this place ever again. Hopefully, you'll read my review and I'll save you the problem of having to learn it for yourself. Take a pass. read more

My go to Chinese food place!! Everything is always fresh and good pricing. I also appreciate their set up during this pandemic.

This is really a great place to order Chinese food. My family and I have ordered from here many times now and the food is always fresh and tasty. We had food catered from here for a birthday party; they worked with us to provide a good deal and a great variety of tasty dishes. They were also very flexible- allowing changes up to a few hours before the party as they said they would only prepare an hour or two before the party. I would recommend ordering in person for a catering order. read more

Excellent service and food quality. My husband always raves about their boneless spare rib tips and how high quality it is, compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area/price range. I was very understanding that I had to wait over 2.5hrs considering this was probably the only chinese food place willing to deliver during corona pandemic and she did say it was hoing to be about 2hrs, however I cannot give 5 stars bc didnt have spare ribs, wc we ok'd bonesless substitution even tho its slightly cheaper (already prepaid) but they gave us 3 cans in place of 2 liters soda (3 cans probably only equivalent to 1 liter). Normally would've given 3 or under stars but opted to still give 4 bc staff very friendly & again, probably only place to deliver chinese food, and we live several towns over). I haven't tried food yet bc writing this review but son who started eating says food is really good thus far. read more

They're actually pretty fast. It takes 10 minutes for an order. My only thing I didn't like is the sesame chicken the rest of my order was good. Beef and broccoli is the way to go. The place is kind food wise it'd be 3.5 ; it's taste is average at best. But their friendly atmosphere bumps them up. All in all this would not be my go to ordering place but if it's the closest one I'm near to when I'm driving home I'd go read more

So hard to find great Chinese food around our area anymore. This place has filled in a void for Chinese food.

I ordered online and after waiting over an hour for my food I called to find out where it was? The male assured me that my order was on its way. I used to be a fan of this place. Unfortunately, they ignore any special instructions. I ask for light sauce on my chicken and broccoli because I'd prefer it not be swimming in sauce. First time...ok no big deal. However, second and third time...not ok. Not even sure you can call this sauce as it has more of a jelly like consistency. Done with Ya Food. read more
