This is my new favorite Chinese place in New Jersey. We tried it on a whim off the word of a food blogger I follow and it didn't disappoint. We started with the basics (fried rice, lo mein, wonton soup) and all were delicious but you absolutely have to try the teriyaki chicken. Great flavor, nice portion size and very affordable. The lady behind the counter was really nice and they get the orders out fast. The only issue I had was there's no place to sit inside so you either have to eat in your car or wait til you get home. read more

Major issue with their quality control. We found this in our rice as we were eating. For those who aren't sure what this is, it's from the metal pot where they cook their white rice from. They use metal scrubbers to get out the burnt rice from the bottom. From that metal scrubber this fell out but should have never been in the food if they rinsed the pot well enough which begs me to further question the quality control when cleaning. When we initially reported this, they informed us they would refund the entire order to make it right. After finishing the other portion of our meals which seemed to be OK, we noticed that nothing was refunded yet and called back only to be informed they would refund the portion of the item which contained this piece of metal. Had someone actually ingested this, it would have damaged our esophagus and probably required surgical removal. I really don't think this restaurant understands the brevity of the issue at hand given their response. If you value your own personal safety, avoid this spot. read more

Fried rice was undercooked , chicken and broccoli with lo mein was very bland and I got the house special lo mein . I've had much better lo mein . Spring rolls were mushy greasy and bland also . Scallion pancake was way overly greasy (extremely oily and had hardly any scallion in it . Not worth it please don't trust the other reviews please . On this Valentine's Day evening, my partner and I ordered dinner from this establishment as we wanted to support the local economy. They are only serving pickup and delivery. Instead of using their website via GrubHub, I called up to speak with a staff. We ordered the scallion pancakes, General Tso's chicken (marinated chicken chunks, deep fried and sautéed with chef special hot pepper flavored tangy brown sauce) with brown rice and seafood fried noodles for pick up. When we arrived, we found parking at their private lot and I went inside. They only allowed patrons to a small alcove with a window. The staff inquired what we had ordered and waited a few moment. When we got home, the food was warm. The scallion pancakes were enormous but a bit greasy. The chicken tasted like orange chicken. The seafood fried noodles weren't what I imagined. I pictured the Cantonese pan fried noodles with seafood. The noodles they used were Udon. I used my comparison to those restaurants in Manhattan's Chinatown. Great first experience... pick up was quick and easy and they take every precaution imaginable to limit exposure to their staff. Food was excellent, mainly the pork buns... both steamed and baked. So I took to Yelp to find a new Chinese takeout place. Came across Lian's...firstly, if you have the comfort of online ordering, you've got me sold! When we order food, we usually order for my in-laws, which means they want plain fried rice. No veggies, no nothing. Most places mess this up. BOTH times I've ordered. Once for pickup and once for delivery...they got it right!!! I most recently went for pickup and the location totally stands out and is super clean. Hope they stick around for a long time. We typically order Lian's when we are craving udon soup. We love udon and have tried countless restaurants, but had no luck finding the perfect one...until we were introduced to Lian's. The broth is perfect and not salty at all, which is huge for me since I'm not a big salt person. The noodles and plentiful, and the veggies are cooked just right. I usually get the chicken which is also cooked very well. Now for the portion size, order when you are hungry! The bowl is large, and usually my husband and I can split one bowl with an appetizer and it is enough for our dinner. We have also gotten the regular chicken udon (not in a broth) which is also fantastic. It is in a light sauce that is very tasty! I have tried the gyoza from here and it is also pretty good, but my review will only be helpful if you were debating on the udon/looking for the best udon in the area. That being said, I gave this 4 stars since I can only rate on a couple items. I never ate at the restaurant, I always do delivery- but turnaround time is usually pretty quick. Definitely recommend trying out the udon, it will not disappoint! read more

The Food was DELICIOUS!!! The restaurant was hidden on more of a residential street, but clean, well-lit and big. The choices or selection of dishes are many and that's saying a lot, very few Chinese restaurants offer Rib Tips or Whiting Fish any more. The pictures of the different foods are unique, authentic and very appealing. You will walk in for one thing and end-up ordering more when you come inside. Very good for first time. IMO Shrimp and Lobster sauce is one of the toughest dishes to get right, as it's usually watery and bland, but they actually do a nice job of it. The sesame chicken was crispy and not overly saucy and the spring rolls were so good that we didn't even need us the duck sauce.
