I love their food . Delivery is fast. The shrimp are excellent. Very friendly too. It's close and convient on no cook nights. Soup is great too read more

This foodie is blessed to be able to travel every week of the year. One of the multiple and beautiful benefits of Yelp is the milli second find anything anywhere feature. After a whirlwind 97 hour, 8568 mile round trip with a seven hour time difference, I did just that in the immediate area around Teterboro airport in New Jersey just west of Manhattan. Felt like Chinese and did I HIT the HUGE jackpot with HOP HING kitchen at 29, Park Ave, Rutherford, NJ 07070. This catchy name is fitting for this cosy little restaurant with: 1) The most lovely and loving family that owns HH and greets you, addresses you, prepares and packages the amazing food with precision and passion. As I waited for my to go order, I loved the interaction between the husband and wife owners and their teenage kids. Lot of love and loads of joking around and having fun. 2) The food - seriously good, tasty, fresh! Got 3 lunch specials( mixed veggies with xtra garlic sauce, no baby corn, gorgeous egg roll) and a large veggie lo mein. Exquisite! Yummy! Addicting. Very generous lunch portions. 3) a spotless restaurant. 4) perfect packaging. 5) regulars who come in and recommend other dishes - gentleman loved his Wonton soup. I ate over 2 hours ago. Feel wonderful and light. Let's Roll. read more

Might be the worst china food I ever had. Ribs were burnt the rest was not good either

Bad experience. Ordered wings and pork fried rice. Very bland and flavorless. Will not return.

Love the chicken soup and sesame chicken. Will definitely have them as my first choice

Shrimp toast was cold as ice and raw in middle. Gross. Egg drop soup is below average. 2 stars for giving the benefit of the doubt that they usually serve fully cooked shrimp toast. read more

Will charge you for using credit card and won't tell you. Picked up small lime in with egg roll. Prices have soared to restaurant level. They're just a dirty, no seat , broken menu board sign on the wall restaurant. The type you picture in a bad neighborhood with bulletproof glass covering the kitchen. Egg roll was half the size of a typical one. When I've tried the ribs in the past they were also pretty bad. Lo Mein was ok. The fact that they charged me 1.50 to use a credit card on a small $8 lunch just pissed me off. I could tell the way she almost asked to charge me $10 she was hiding something. Sneaky. read more

Original owner isn't there any more . Food is not fresh and authentic tasting! Hop Hung was known for its amazing HOT & Sour Soup. Now it's not worth it and neither is their Wonton Soup! Rice tasted precooked not fresh as before! On to find a new Chinese restaurant after years of going there! read more

An hour fifteen for delivery. Make sure to order before you are hungry. The food is mediocre, not bad, but I'm not going to wait that long for it. read more

Edwin was the best server ever. The customer service was greatly presentable. Spend all your money here. Edwin also deserves a raise.

First time ordering and so happy to find a new Chinese spot, since our old one closed! Only 4 starts because it's our first experience. We ordered the general tso chicken and spare ribs all very good! read more

Very small place. 1st time experience. I had boneless spare ribs combo. My wife had sweet and sour chucken combo. Very good, both meals. We both arte everything which is a rarity for us. Will return. read more

Looks like your average hole in the wall takeout place, but my family was passing through town and craving Chinese food so we decided to try it out. We ordered the boneless ribs, white meat general tso's, pork fried rice (they don't skimp on the pork), and lo mein and egg rolls for the kids. It was very good, food wasn't too dry like a lot of other places and it came out pretty quick. Hungry wife and kids approved! Glad we found this restaurant and we'll definitely come back if we're in the area. read more

Passed this shop a million times before actually trying the takeout. Steamed dumplings, spicy beef w/ garlic sauce. It was great. My new takeout staple. read more

The food and service here are incredible! The staff is always super nice and very accommodating. Service is always quick and the food always tastes fresh. There is always a very friendly and cozy vibe inside, making even the (short) wait for the food enjoyable. Hop Hing is definitely a go-to lunch and dinner for my whole family. I would most definitely recommend! read more

The food was good. Took a little bit to be delivered, but I was happy it was received warm. We ordered the barbecue spare ribs which I'm normally not huge for, but these were better than most; less fatty. Then we ordered egg rolls, steamed dumplings, general tso chicken, pork fried rice, beef with broccoli, and sodas. Enjoyed it all One let down is that we ordered $45 worth of food, and not one free item. Most Chinese places in my area will give you something or another depending on the $ you are spending. Not here. Still, food was received well. read more

Hop Hing Kitchen - A little of everything - Chinese Near Me - Rutherford, New Jersey

Difficult to find decent Chinese in this area but this place is good.

For pickup I ordered Beef Chow Mein (that came with rice and noodles), when arrived at home no noodles where found, the beef was more onions and celery than beef . Also, I ordered Sweet and Sour chicken with vegetable fried rice, the rice was no so good . Very disappointed. read more

Very good food! I have had take out from here quite a few times now, the prices are incredible and the quality is very consistent. This is in my opinion the best take out Chinese place in the area. Really like the orange chicken! read more

Incredible food. Ordered take-out -- - Fried rice - Fried wontons - General Tsos Chicken Some of the best Americanized Chinese I've ever eaten--must go if you are in the area. Be sure to get some of the red sauce. read more

This has been our Chinese food place to order from for a very long time now. I can say that over the years, the quality has remained consistent. Even though it's been so long that we've been ordering from here, I still marvel at how they remember specifics about our order once they hear our address and phone number. Very nice people, very good food. Enjoy! read more

Really good flavors for the traditional chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice...didn't need to add any extra sauces to flavor it up. Veggies were fresh...only grip is I did have a piece of chicken that was super chewy. Delivery was pretty quick....but I did order on a Thursday after the dinner rush. read more

Service was good but the food tastes really bad. I ordered General Tso's chicken and it tasted like they poured a cup of sugar onto my dish. Their mu-shu pork is okay. I notice that there aren't any Chinese customers here and I'm suspicious that Chinese people don't eat food cooked this way. The sauces were overly thick (too much cornstarch) and flavors overly sugary. But maybe the students or their customer base enjoys food cooked like this so they cook it this way. I wonder if the cook eats his/her own food. I'm surprised they are still in business. read more

I got the basics and roll wonton soup chicken broccoli. Bad bad and bad I'll never go back if you can't make chicken broccoli and eggroll and wonton soup I don't want to try to rest. Waste of money read more

Ordered tonight like we do every Friday lately ordering is a hassle them trying to get the order straight tonight forgot 1 item after telling them 4 times exactly how I wanted it, used the excuse when I called back well we didn't charge you, everyone else in my house was eating except me. All they kept saying was we didn't charge you. Sorry won't be ordering from here again. read more

This is honestly hands down the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. I'm a regular here and I go here at least once a week. Not only are the owners great people but the restaurant is amazing. Imagine going to Disneyland except all the rides are Chinese food. And all the princesses are waiters and waitresses. If I could give more stars I would in a heartbeat. You'll be "hop-hing" back here every night. read more

Hop Hing is a wonderful Chinese restaurant right off Park Ave in Rutherford. The staff is very polite, and the food is not only delicious, but affordable! This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. read more

Food is okay, but the one star is due to an incident happened few days ago! My wife ordered food for delivery and before ordering she asked they lady on the phone if she can pay with a credit card and she said yes and asked for the order, she then hung up before taking the card info to pay. The delivery guy came with the food and he had no idea about me paying with a card and asked me to call the restaurant, my wife did and she got the same lady who took the order and when she realized she did a mistake by not taking the card info, she handed the phone to another lady I believe the owner, and here was the surprise, she was absolutely rude and she didn't want to to even listen, at the end she took the card and hung up in my wife's face without even saying a word! ABSOLUTELY RUDE! NEVER AGAIN! read more

Overpriced, poor service, and less than adequate food taste make this the worst choice in Rutherford.

I love this place! all time fav. Chinese food ever! my mom is chinese and since moving here its been hard to find authentic tasting food. Mind you takeout is nothing like "real" chinese food but this place has amazing hot oil and spicy mustard that makes everything taste good. read more

The customer service is impeccable. Food is great quality. The food is also served pretty quickly! This is my new favorite place.

I have been coming to this place for over ten years. The taste has always been superb and consistent. I actually take friends here who get upset the chinese around them isnt nearly as good. Price is typical of most places. Hop hing unlike man hing down the block are not sticklers over lunch special hours. I brought 15 people to man hing once and their attitude and service was horrible. Never went back. Ill stick with the family oriented, friendly Hop Hing. read more

Hop Hing is the best in Rutherford. I go here probably 2-3 times a month. Food is ALWAYS consistent. I HIGHLY recommend for take out.

Would I recommend the establishment? Yes. Overall: The food is good / not bad. I've had better pork fried rice but the rice wasn't bad. I would eat it again. Shrimp and broccoli was good. So we're the chicken wings and French fries. My husband didn't care for the Sesame chicken. read more

Love this place. It is the best take-out Chinese food in the immediate area. I have been coming here for 8 years. Food has always been consistently good and prices are reasonable. read more

My coworkers and I order from here frequently. As the other reviewers say the quality is always is consistent. My favorite things about this place: 1) Quick delivery without a minimum (they just charge $1 extra if under $10) 2) The food always arrives hot 3) The General Tso's chicken is fantastic. Still crispy (not soggy like some places) 4) You CAN'T beat the prices. This is dollar for dollar THE best cheap chinese I've ever come across and I've gone to a lot so trust me so don't be a fool and order Hop Hing if you're in the mood for some good cheap Chinese that hits the spot. read more

My family and I have been customers of Hop Hing since the beginning. The food is yummy and the people who work there are great. Their wonton soup and spare ribs are the best! read more

My take out from Hop Hing was very good. It is real old school Chinese. The ribs were excellent!

Fresh and delicious food at great prices. A real find :-) read more

Been going here for longer than I care to remember....probably coming up on 12 years. I know the owners well and they are wonderful people. The food quality is excellent and more importantly, consistently flavorful. They cook everything fresh and to order, and are extremely amenable to changing ingredients to fit our whims and fancies, which I really appreciate. Couldn't recommend this place more whole-heartedly!! read more
