This was supposed to have braised tofu, but it was just regular tofu.

We come to this area regularly to visit our retired Priest, so each time I like to find a new place to take him. I was looking for a quick place for a light meal, since we had eaten throughout the day at a festival. The outside looks divey, but the inside is clean and comfortable. The food, unfortunately was disappointing. I was hoping to find an authentic Chinese style rice plate restaurant. It is actually a typical fast food style Chinese restaurant. We ordered the cantonese style fried noodles with beef. The dish was too salty, and the meat was a cheaper cut that was tenderized. We also ordered the Precious 8 Tofu. It was billed as braised tofu, but in fact it was just plain soft tofu. Again the meat was over-tenderized... a sign of using cheaper cuts of meat.

This is what the food really looks like.

The photo featured on Yelp was NOT taken at the Rice Shop! Don't let it mislead you! I went to this place based on that picture and I was SO disappointed. The decor is cute and would be comfortable if the horrible manager wasn't yelling at her workers and the poor teenager that looked like he was trying to do his homework near the front of the restaurant . My food seemed to be made of salt, salt and a dash of more salt. The best part of the meal was the free fried noodles and duck sauce. Even for take out the food was lacking. Bad food, Bad service, and dishonest advertising.

The best sesame chicken but order with white meat! Staff can be cranky sometimes but the food is damn good. Best pork fried rice in town!

The food wasn't bad, actually quite tasty but I guess my taste buds are used to the more unhealthy, "fake" American Chinese food. Moreover, the server was nice but it was evident her English was a bit lacking so when I asked for a lychee martini, she kept pointing to martini but didn't know what I meant by lychee (so I went for a cosmo instead no biggie). The food came out pretty fast once ordered but any questions we had about the dishes were answered rather ambiguously and when we wanted some chili oil/more napkins we had to kind of hunt the server down. And it was weird because the restaurant really wasn't that busy on a Sunday afternoon. So, overall I still enjoyed my birthday (would've been nice to kinda get called on it especially since the server "checked" my ID but again maybe she didn't really look at it), and I don't think I'd rush to try this restaurant again. However, it's still worth at least a first try! The soup was my favorite dish, very herbal flavors. Heavy on lemongrass so if you're expecting something a bit less fragrant like pho or ramen you probably wouldn't like the soup here.

The experience pretty much matched its current rating. I saw the 3.6 beforehand and was hoping it…read morewould be better, but it delivered exactly what you'd expect from that score. The food was mediocre. Service was okay--polite but flat and not very attentive. Overall, it's not somewhere I'd go back to

This is a self service restaurant which is fine, so we ordered our food at the counter and sat down to wait for our food, as food started to come out the lady from behind the counter come by to tell us that they were closing on a Friday night at 8pm. We ordered our food at 7:30. We had wished that she told us this information prior to us ordering cause we would have gone somewhere else. Overall it's fast food dim sum. While the restaurant has a pretty look to it, I think it just works as a take out place mostly.

This place was nice, but when I went specifically for the lunch special listed on the online order…read moresystem (and was on their window), they weren't offering it. The cashier seemed entirely confused about the concept of a lunch special and the other employee said it had to do with the town itself. I don't know how the bureaucracy of Secaucus works, but I don't see how they could block offering a bowl with one side and one entree. They also didn't have a menu board, just the paper fold out which I don't find as effective, especially if there is a line. I did get pork soup dumplings to stay, and there are a lot of tables with a nice ambience so dine in is a good option. The parking can be a little tricky given the number of businesses in the plaza, but it wasn't bad. The dumplings were good and pretty filling. They were a good price, as were most of the dishes and the signs saying no tip needed made me respect the business more. It's a decent option for the area, but I'd prefer to return if they have their lunch special available again.

We had the sesame chicken, chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce, and some lomein. All of the chicken was cooked perfectly, and they pack the boxes to the brim. The sesame chicken wasn't overly breaded, which I really appreciated. I hate when you bite into a juicy-looking piece of chicken and it turns out that it's all batter. These were lunch specials and for the side item, you only get to choose from an egg roll, wonton soup, or a soda. Would be nice if they included hot and sour soup as a choice because that's what I usually like to get. That will be the next step - to try their hot and sour soup. If that's good, I may have found my new go-to Chinese takeout restaurant.

So good because places usually use filler so I stopped eating it. This is legit. Egg rolls are really good.... Mom had hot and sour soup and loved it. Girlfriend has some rolls and they were excellent as well Nice job people!
