It definitely helps to speak Spanish. Service was friendly though despite the language barrier. My only comment would be that they put mandatory gratuity for a party of 2 before we were even seated and they tried to charge us for to-go containers. So far, the best beef birria ramen I have had in Jersey! Ramen was filled with lots of meat and the noodles were not overcooked. I was mostly surprised that it was so good because we ordered take out and did not expect everything to be so tasty. Also, loved the beef birria tacos with the consume on the side. Other items that we ordered were the shrimp quesadilla, shrimp and chicken tacos, birria and shrimp tacos and wings. Everything was good. Let me start off by saying i absolutely love the birria tacos here. So much I catered birria tacos for my baby shower. DELICIOUS. With that being said, I am extremely disappointed in this establishment. This restaurant does NOT pay their workers fairly. After a few conversations with different cashiers, I realized that these CASHIERS are severely underpaid. A lot of them being minors, who unfortunately do not know what a fair wage is or their rights. Their pay begins at $9.00 to run the register... they're told by owners that they're waitresses however, every time I walk into the establishment, i notice that it is NOT a sit down restaurant per say. Almost all orders are made at the register and placed to go. After speaking with a few employees, I've received an anonymous complaint stating they have to pray their pay isn't cut or shortened (already that it legally is) because the owners will literally take all the employee's money to fix short registers. DO NOT BUY HERE! THEY DO NOT DESERVE THE SUPPORT FROM LOCALS UNTIL THEY TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES CORRECTLY. it's insane how many new cashiers I see because of this issue! read more

First time trying birria tacos. I gotta say, I prefer more legit Mexican/ California style tacos (especially without the fried shell) so don't think I'll try these again. Tried both beef and chicken. The beef tacos were more flavorful and juicy. Chicken was on the dry side, and wasn't the best tasting imo. I read online that this style of tacos is traditionally served with goat. Goat would've been great, but don't think its on the menu. $15 for 4 tacos ... I was a little hungry after finishing (and thats with ordering chips/ guac on the side). Parking was weird. There is metered street parking but the meters are fairly far apart. Some guy parked in between my friends car and my car and there wasn't any meter for him. So its not clear which meter belongs to which car. read more

Heavy on the onion but I loved it. We finished the WHOLE tub. Chips was salted beautiful and fresh. Had this door dashed lastnight, took over an hour. (Delivery went fast it was this place that seemed busy) anyway, one bag came, just tied not even sealed..I'll start off by saying we were missing an entire dinner! They did not include the chicken ramen, pretty upset about this and that they sent a silly receipt so I can't even see if they forgot it or the Uber eats stole it.. pretty inconveniencing when someone's whole dinner is not sent. And once delivered the restaurant was closed so I couldn't even call them. Anyway. We got the birritta tacos (4 count) and 2 with chicken and beef, We ordered cheese and got a shrimp instead.. another not so fun error when you don't eat shrimp!!!!!! So happy to find a place doing great birria tacos close to home rather than NYC where I'm not going quite as often now. Ordered over the phone and picked up. Service was very sweet. The space is very nice and cutely decorated. Tacos were really good! Overstuffed but not falling out of the crispy tortillas. Green sauce on the side was tasty but not too spicy and the consommé had a very deep, beefy flavor. Elote was a full corn cob topped with Mayo, salty cheese and spices. I told myself I wouldn't come back after having a rude encounter with one of the employees that served me a shrimp ramen bowl topped with beef & argued with me that it wasn't- despite me showing him the bits of shrimp throughout the noodles & telling him I was allergic. I decided to visit el Jardin because I saw a friend post about it on their Instagram. Since I came during COVID, I decided get my order to go but I believe they did have indoor dining. I ordered the beef birria taco and the chicken birria tacos. The birria tacos were soo good and it also came with a consomme that you dip the tacos in. The wait is around 30 mins for the birria tacos but there is a parking lot close by so you can park and wait there. Each order of the Birria tacos costs 13 dollars which includes 4 tacos and the consommé. I recommend calling ahead to place your order for pick up. I will be returning to try the noodles because they look so good. read more

However...the birria tacos I ordered are 5 star. So good! I ordered the beef. You get 4 tacos, consume and two salsas, a red and a green. All are fantastic. The beef is soooooo tender none of the meat pulls out when you bite into it. Seriously delicious. You can order extra neat but you don't need it. The tacos are packed with plenty of meat, nice amount of cheese, onion and cilantro. You can also order e tra crispy. I opted to get them as is. Pricing is good but of course through Ubereats it's a bit more. I highly recommend this place. If I were here longer I'd definitely want to try more of the menu or dine it. Food: I had the beef Birria tacos. They cost $13 for 4 tacos. I thought it was delicious. It's heavy on the cilantro and raw yellow onions which I'm not crazy about but it was good nonetheless. As far as beverages you have a choice of Agua frescas, jarritos, mexican coke, and regular coke. Customer service: I dined in and the hostess was very sweet. She brought over a card reader when it was time to pay and was always attentive. Location: main avenue is a very bust street. The restaurant is on a corner and there's no parking lot for the business. Only street parking is available but I did park across the street in a parking lot for another business (do that at your own risk lol). Ambiance:It was spacious and nicely lit. Cute and very casual. There was hand sanitizer by the door upon entering. There are 8 tables with 4 seats at each table so a small group can come and dine in. Aside from dining in, you could also do takeout. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and the lady asked if I was picking up and I told her yes and gave her my name. I paid a little over $13 and left. Wife and I ordered two birria beef orders via UberEATS. Each order came with 4 tacos and consomme. I requested for mine without onions and cilantro but unfortunately they made both orders without them so my wife didn't fully enjoyed hers as much as she would if they had the onions and cilantro. I went to pick up some quesataco de birria for dinner. The ordering process was easy and they told me about 20 -30 mins wait but they would call me if they were ready before hand. Upon arriving I could tell they were a bit busy but they moved fast. I got there with 15 minutes to wait and they called me to tell me that tacos were ready. This was my first time trying birria tacos and I must say I definitely liked it. It took about 40 minutes for our food to come out, which for tacos was surprisingly long but the wait was worth it. The green and red hot sauces gave the tacos a nice spicy kick to it. I was not a fan of the broth dip, but if you place the radish and lime juice on top of the taco it gives it a great flavor. The beef tacos are full of flavor and 4 come to an order and we wanted more when we were done. The tacos can be ordered with chicken, beef or pork .
