TLDR: Food court ramen is a coin flip. This place leans toward good, but I won't actively look for it, even if I'm in the area. Black Tonkotsu Ramen: I think the thing I liked the most about this it is the noodle. It's firm but chewy and you get a respectable amount of it. The egg had a bit of a green band, but I'm not gonna complain about it. The broth is different from most black tonkotsu ramens that I've had, but it's not amazing. The chashu was the 2nd best thing in the bowl. It may not have tasted different from your everyday ramen, but there is something nice about doing the basics well. Generally, this is good enough to try. Service: I ordered by tablet. Paid on the card reader attached to the tablet. Got my food 10 minutes later. Not much service to talk about. Decided to try this place since I was in the American dream mall and I was craving some boa buns and their boa buns were really yummy! I went in for a ramen bowl. The staff was helpful and helped me make a choice. They had different broths with an option to spice it up - can have it on the side if you like to adjust yourself. The bowl was huge, the place was clean and hygienic. The fork/knives were wrapped to avoid any dust. Today was one of those days where Pora Ramen came to the rescue after 2 years. Besides the star of the show being ramen, they also have rice bowls, Korean fried chicken, gyozas, buns, and boba tea. I decided on the Tonkotsu Ramen, which is a pork bone broth ramen. It is accompanied by slices of King Trumpet-style mushrooms, bean sprouts, scallions, and pieces of chashu. The ramen eggs (Ajitsuke Tamago) are done perfectly. The broth wasn't too heavy or overly salty. The pork has the mixture of fat/meat that was tender and tasty. I stopped by this place to try Ramen. I ordered a bubble tea for my daughter and I place the order of Ramen for myself. I picked the one in the picture to make it easier. They told me that it was spicy, so I asked him if he could make it less spicy so he say yes, and I don't think I sacrifice much on the flavor. It was very good. I enjoy it. That was a little weird, but I took the tray and grabbed more napkins to clean up. This would have been a 5-star rating had that not happened. We parked at lot D, so Pora Ramen is at the far end of the food court. We had to get past a mass of people... But if you come from lot A, I guess it would be the 1st few stalls. Order and wait, the wait was awkward as I was constantly in people's way no matter where I moved... but that is how food courts are... I kind of wish the order and pickup stations were reversed. You would then be able to wait in a larger area. I ordered: Mango Jasmine Tea - delicious, just a tad too sweet for me. I would have liked to be able to say how much sugar I wanted. Scrolling the reviews for Pora and you'll see, "Thee worst ramen I've ever had. so bland and flavorless," mighty close to, "Possibly the best mall foodcourt ramen I've ever had!!" What I can bring to the discussion... the Mrs. absolutely loves ramen and she loves this place. If we're bound for this mall and looking for grub? It'll always be ramen and she'll scoff if you dare to use any utensil besides chopsticks. As for a simple guy that doesn't really know much about ramen? Two visits spaced a year or so apart. Both times getting their vegetarian option. Flavor... first time was 'hmmm, okay' (too much corn, a bit boring), second time was 'oohhhh damn!' (less corn, and it packed a punch from the first slurp to the very last). Pricing... for the hefty (heavy) portion of (scolding hot) soup loaded with noodles and finely-diced veggies - more than fair. Deceptively filling. They said the noodles were hand made but the texture was a little too soft. Some were clumped together. The broth was a little too salty. There were two pieces of char siu and they were both tender. This restaurant is located in the American Dream Mall, up on the third floor with the Coca-Cola food court. I tried the miso ramen, black tonkatsu ramen, and an order of the six-piece gyoza. First, the six-piece gyoza had a nice thin skin but unfortunately was cooked by deep frying the whole dumpling, which was disappointing if crispy. The meat on the inside was okay but I think this would have done much better pan-fried. The miso ramen had corn and black mushrooms and plenty of green scallions, but the miso was weak and lacked strength of flavor. Noodles were reasonable, though. The pork was okay, not quite fall apart in the mouth but definitely moist and fatty. The half egg was done properly, soft-boiled. The black tonkatsu ramen had the black garlic sauce and again a weak miso base, so you had the bitterness from the black garlic sauce but not much else. Noodles on this one were also a thin versus the regular yellow ramen noodles which would have made it better. Pork here was the same as in the miso ramen. The half egg here was also done properly. They also have a number of drinks you can order, and the pickup area has chopsticks and spoons and forks for you to pick up on your own depending on what you need. Large bowls were made out of paper so easy to discard. Overall I've had better ramen and gyoza, so I'll likely skip this next time. read more

Possibly the best mall foodcourt ramen I've ever had!! I was so surprise of how tasty the ramen was, the fried garlic pieces added more flavor to the broth. I ordered a spicy tonkotsu ramen without scallions, spicy Korean chicken for app and a matcha latte with cheese foam. Service was quick, you order and pay at the counter. You will get a number and pick up your food when it's called. I enjoyed my ramen very much. I wish the Korean chicken was crispy, it was drowned in sauce. Skip the matcha latte, it was on a saltier side. There's no seating at the counter since it's inside a mall foodcourt. There's plenty of tables and chairs in the middle of the foodcourt. I used the self-service machine to order spicy tonkotsu-Pork broth | bean sprouts | green onions | mushrooms | boiled egg | noodles | 2-3 slices of pork meat (Chashu) | spicy paste for a little kick with extra corn. The machine was easy to use. When my order was ready, they called my number and my number appeared on the machine. I did not have to wait very long. Note to self, next time ask them to skip that part. 2. The ramen. Hold up, this is mall food court food? Wow! I am highly impressed. Surprisingly scrumptious for Mall food. The home made ramen dishes were flavorful and ingredients appeared to be fresh. The bowls were a little big for the portions they provided. The fried chicken was tender inside, crispy on the outside and delicious. The korean fried chicken portions were plentiful and topped with scallions and dripping with a power packed soy garlic sauce. Ordered Black Tonkotsu Ramen, Vegetable Gyoza and Strawberry Lemonade. Ramen: Soup is not heavy (and I don't mind having less heavy soup). Very little toppings compared to other ramen places for the same price too. I do like how they use black fungus (aka wood ear mushrooms). The char sui isn't too salty, just normal, can't say if there's anything special about it. I think they used two type of oil for black tonkotsu ramen but what i dislike is there's too much of the white oil instead of the black oil. Gyoza: apparently the menu show that the vegetable gyoza is green, when we got it , we asked if this the vegetable gyoza since it's not green. The person giving out the order isn't nice about it, it's just an attitude problem, like doesn't want to answer our question. I mean you can simply say the green gyoza is out of stock and we another type for now due to inventory problems from the wholesalers but instead he's like arguing with me while I'm just asking if this is the veg gyoza. It's not like it's super busy and can't answer me. Also this isn't gyoza.every country have their own version of dumplings, but the one I got is the Korean mandu with glass noodles inside. Strawberry Lemonade: taste like normal lemonade to me. Can't really taste the strawberry. Had better one. The staff making the drink have a little attitude also cus she just dump the drink on my tray. Maybe having a bad day ? Located inside the American Dream Mall, the aroma of this place (through my mask too) as I was going up the escalator on the way to the food court drew me in. Portion size and prices were reasonable as well. I ordered their Spicy Tonkotsu ramen and I thought it was pretty delicious. Not too spicy, a small kick to it. I felt like they could've probably made the roast pork a little more charred. I ordered a mango Jasmine tea, and I thought it was delicious. I can definitely taste the jasmine tea and I like that they added some thyme leaves which helps elevate the taste. Definitely does not taste superficial. They also have a boba shop where you can order other delicious drinks like Thai tea/slush, matcha lattes/slush, mango smoothies, brown sugar boba latte, etc... List goes on. I also ordered their Korean Fried Chicken - they're boneless and the pieces are big! They are on the drier side though because of the white meat, but overall, still delicious. Gyoza was mediocre. I came here when I visited the American Dream mall. The ramen place is inside the food court, and you can either dine in the food court or takeout. There are contact-less machines that you can order your ramen from, and it will give you a number to be called on when your order is ready. It comes with meat, egg, and some vegetables. The broth was flavorful and the noodles were the perfect consistency. The price of the ramen is average and similar to other ramen places. The pork buns were my absolute favorite! I love the sauce that goes along with the pork and how the pork was cooked. The bun, lettuce, sauce, and pork all complemented one another. Last but not least, the brown sugar bubble tea. They have a lot of bubble tea flavors to choose from. The brown sugar milk tea was very good! I personally like it more than other brown sugar milk teas that I have tried in other places. It is sweet, but not as sweet as other cafes. Their bubbles are on the softer end and not as firm. The vegetable ramen had a lot of flavor to it and was a decent size portion. Was in the food court and randomly stumbled upon this gem. Im not a fan of meat flavored broths so I opted for the vegetable ramen and I added pork to it. Surprisingly the broth was super flavorful and delicious. Definitely not what expected. Noodles were soft and chewy, it had tofu, arugula, corn, scallions, and red onion. Pora Ramen offers about 5 different Ramen soups. I went for the Spicy Tonkutsu which was absolutely delicious and my company thoroughly enjoyed the vegetable ramen as well. The Spicy ramen was not too spicy probably I would give it a 6 out of 10 in terms of how spicy it was. They do not give you the typical bowl you would get from Ramen places but more so a container which I thought there were pros and cons. The container does come with a lid and you could easily take it home as they do have a really good bag to walk around the mall with your ramen if you so choose. I love the authenticity of having my ramen in a bowl personally but I understand why they would do this especially being in a food court vs a standalone location What was interesting was the bubble tea, in the pictures added on the review is the medium size which most places people would probably order the size of the large as the norm. I had the cheese brown sugar bubble tea which was very very sweet. If you needed a sweet tooth this would be it without a doubt. On a side note also on the menu they serve Korean fried chicken. The service here was beyond phenomenal and that alone would make me want to come back and visit Pora Ramen again. read more
