Great service and great food! So surprised it's not busier because it's so good but I'm sure people order out. Plus the parking situation is terrible in that area so just beware it'll take some time. It's a solid spot to visit though. Super homey and the decor is cute. They have flavorful and variety rolls. We sat and were immediately helped. The waitress was very nice and patient with me and explained a lot on the menu because I'm fairly new to sushi but my girlfriend loves this spot! We started with kani salad and miso soup. Love a good miso soup. Hot and relaxing in the winter weather. The kani salad was flavorful. My first time trying it. For our meals I had the 3 classic sushi rolls with the miso soup. I love that they had different options if you didn't want to stick to just one type. They have some with 10 qty where you can select any classic rolls and salmon lovers, tuna lover, etc where you can pick any of those type of rolls. My girlfriend had the Loco Tiger which was spicy crab, shrimp tempura, wrapped in kombu moro with chipotle sauce. It was delicious! She finished it all. I tried some and really liked the shrimp tempura inside. They have good sauces too, like the sweet chili and spicy mayo. I was full so quick! Wish I could've had more space to keep going. A quaint, rather simple sushi place. Interior isn't much to write home about; 5 mismatched tables of 4 seats each. Outside is another 4 tables or 4-6 seats each. The ambiance is very low budget, but not necessarily in a bad way. I wouldn't say it's authentic at all. Not a single chef or server was Japanese, let alone Asian, and even when placing an order, they didn't know what an "unagi-don" was, despite it being rather commonplace as a menu item at most Japanese restaurants. Food is simple and seems of decent quality. I'd recommend coming between 12-2:30pm for their lunch specials since their bentos are good value. It's not exactly cheap here; even the most recent (1-2year old) menus on Yelp are outdated. Expect to pay about $4-5 more for your meal per menu item. Personally, I felt they really skimped on the poke in my bowl, and it showed. read more

Like many others , when I lived in the area I didn't think much of this sushi spot so never bothered to come in, especially with parking not always being so easy. Hudson county is never the easiest to find parking sometimes but if you're walking distance, ordering take out/delivery, or don't mind taking your time to find parking then you will be in for a treat at this sushi establishment. My mom isn't really a sushi person, but really enjoyed it one day that she happened to pass by which is why she wanted me to come by and check it out for myself. They have very unique chairs, tables, decor and plants. Very hipster like, it actually reminds me a lot of the small cute restaurants in New York City. The establishment isn't very big but they also created a small outdoor covered seating area, and for the winter days or cold nights they do have a heat lamp. Our server was really good and attentive. Food was even better! For an appetizer we went with the spicy garlic shrimp, it's about 5 pieces of shrimp, really good for an appetizer to share with someone (a bit spicy but not too bad). My mom got the miso soup, she said it was perfect to warm her up, as well as the Mango tango roll which she loved. I tried the spicy girl roll and the James roll. I asked for the Salmon on the James roll if they could cook it a bit more and they did. They were both delicious!! I was stuffed! For the price,quality and service we will definitely come back again and highly recommend worth checking it out if you're in the area and are craving some sushi! read more

Stopped in to this cute little Asian restaurant with cork and dark green tile walls. Each table has a cute flower arrangement. The chairs are upholstered and quite comfortable. I only wish the checkered tablecloths weren't vinyl. My order for Japanese style noodles and chicken came promptly. The chicken was freshly grilled and the noodles were not over sauced. The vegetables were al dente. This is a rarity in Asian restaurants in this area. I was delighted that I did not have to request chopsticks. Again, at most of the Asian restaurants around here, you have to request chopsticks (that's if they even have them). I'll be back to Hudson Sushi or order lunch on a workday (they're right down the street). read more

This is one of those places you might miss out on if you're just walking past it on the street - I'm glad we stopped in! It's a small restaurant with limited seating, but they had a covered outdoor area so we chose to eat outside. The service was quick and friendly, we felt really welcomed. The prices are good as well especially considering the quality of the fish and the food in general. We each got a chicken teriyaki meal which came with rice and a starter salad. (Love me a good combo) Then we shared the fiery Godzilla roll - I recommend it. Everything was excellent and the staff made sure we were satisfied and happy before leaving. Ordered their food to go last night and wow! I love how most of their menu items have images attached on their website makes understanding some of their more elaborate rolls better. Same with some apps. That being said their menu is def more unique than most sushi places. I very much appreciate being able to try new things so awesome! The crazy volcano roll was absolutely a favorite!! The golden dragon being a close second. All of the rolls I got were fantastic. I wish the naruto roll just didn't have a huge portion of whatever that stuff is (rice noodle! Crunch? Something) not that it tasted bad but it takes away from the fish and makes the whole thing very hard to eat without making a mess. Is this place the cheapest? No. Are they really damn good? Yes. I've seen some review noting that parking is terrible, and while that's true. -it's really not the restaurants fault so that's kind of comical to add as a negative bullet towards them. Word to the wise, this place is 100x better after the renovations! Long gone are the cramped bar stool, counter style seating. Now there are actual tables and chairs, as well as the original bench, making it far more comfortable now. And feels more like a restaurant than a takeout place. They still have the 3 sushi roll deal ($15 for 3 with miso soup or salad). Oh yeah, and the standard rolls are 8 pieces vs the typical 6! You pay upfront, so once you're stuffed you're outta there!
