I took my 11 year old daughter to this restaurant for a bowl of ramyum to-go. The bag holding the ramyum broke just minutes after we left the store and the scalding ramyun fell on my daughter's leg and burned her skin off. When I returned minutes later to report what happened to the owner, he was very nasty and rude and showed no care for my daughter's burned leg. She was in tears because he ski. Was burned off. This is not an exaggeration. Beware! This place is dangerous and the owner could care less if someone is injured. Update: It has been about 5 days since the incident. The burn has gotten worse and my 11 year will need to see a dermatologist. This appears to be a 2nd degree burn. I am calling an attorney. Disappointing, the rice bowl I ordered was missing most of what the description says (no shrimp, avocado, scallions etc.) For some reason I wasn't expecting everything described as crab to be immitation crab stick, and the tuna in my rolls seemed pretty low quality. Came by after seeing a movie, it's very small with only couple of seats so mostly a takeout place. I got a tempura shrimp udon noodle soup, and shrimp was packed separately which was good to keep them from being soggy, but there were only 2 shrimps. They were big, but I think more smaller ones would have been better. It was my bad that I hit the brakes hard in the car, but the soup lid had a hole in the top, possibly to vent but there were went a lot of liquid. I have ordered quite a lot of take out soup in my day, and i don't think I've really had a problem like this with a flaky container. I've had other soups with more veggies as well. It was fine, but kind of bland with just noodles, shrimp, and a sliver of carrot. It was serviceable and I'd consider it again after a movie, but it's not worth visiting the Plaza and dealing with the crazy parking lot for just this. read more

Like coming here for sushi before a movie. The sushi is always fresh and tasteful. Do not like that they charge you extra for sauce if you want more than 2-3 soy sauce. Love the fact that they have some really good Japanese snacks and drinks. Staff is kind of rude and do not really speak to you. came here while visiting my friend who lives in this area. all other places were closed so we stumbled upon this place and thought why not. the space is small but there's seats by the windows so we ate in. they have ample amount of different dishes and drinks from choose from. theyre pretty quick - only took about 10 minutes for our food to come out. my friend got the ramen which she really liked and i got the donburi which was pretty decent - definitely filling. i've tasted better for sure but for a restaurant in a mall complex, this place aint too shabby - especially for the price. the staff was very sweet & helpful as well read more

The sushi is just okay, I do not think it is good or great by any means. I decided to try some protein bowls last time, and again, not great. Unfortunately, I won't be back. I don't think it is worth your money, I would rather go to the sandwich shop next door, or another one of the surrounding restaurants before going here. When i calmly asked about what may have happened i was met with a rude attitude and told, "you have to make a side order for sushi", as if youre supposed to know that... but wait theres more, apparently it has never been included. Okay... so what about every other visit??? i have never requested a side order of sushi before, yet its been there every previous visit. (ALSO: Its shown on the picture board/menu with sushi in ALL bento boxes, according to the picture... false advertisement) So theres two possibilities, either i am being lied to and they just tried to get over on an "unsuspecting" customer, OR they have been charging me extra for sushi without making it clear that its "extra". Unfortunately the Yelp reviews were spot on about this place. I was walking around the outdoor mall area and I was looking for food. There seemed to be alot of choices. As I was looking through the menus posted, I chose Niko Niko, because I was in the mood for a rice bowl. Even though the Yelp reviews weren't very good, I thought I'd give this place a try. I ordered the chicken katsudon. It came out pretty fast and seemed like it was a pretty good portion size. Since it was a nice day, I decided to eat it in the nearby outdoor seating area. Sadly, this is where the positives end. The chicken and egg was incredibly salty and didn't seem fresh. The meat quality also wasn't very good. The bowl itself lacked flavor, other than a large amount of salty flavor. For $9 a bowl, you can do much better elsewhere. read more

Very good Sushi, Udon, Soba and Bento Boxes. All of the food is very tasty especially the spicy rolls. Is it the best I've ever had? Definitely not, but the location is ideal for travellers who stay in the surrounding hotels or local office workers (like myself). The Chicken Ramyun with Soba is my absolute favorite thing to eat. Spicy and a great way to warm up on a chilly day. The sushi can be customized and made fresh, which is always great for a quick lunch. Let me start by saying that we only ordered sushi and took it to go. We are in Seacaucus several times a year (in this same location every time) and I've only been here once based on the suggestion of someone at the hotel. Our hotel was just behind this plaza and I wanted somewhere I could walk to for carry out. It's not a big place so there are only a handful of seats inside. There is outdoor seating in the plaza which is nice. I ordered by phone and had no issues. I only mention this because sometimes when I order by phone there is a language barrier. The lady at the register wasn't talkative but wasn't rude either. I did have to ask for forks because only three out of the seven of us can use chopsticks. The sushi was ok, nothing amazing but still good. The rice wasn't quite like any sushi rice that I'm used to, it was a little closer to regular "sticky" rice. Where shall we start. When a person starts their review with that sentence it could be good or bad. My review is going to be leaning towards the direction of bad. I ordered the Special Volcano Roll that I have always done in the past pre-Covid. Let's just say that wasn't what I exactly got. But first lets go back to the paying situation. This restaurant has increased their prices by 1.00. I honestly didn't know because I was going by the price on the menu so when I asked about the total the cashier lady proceeds to tell me that price increase wilding pointing at the sharpie written increase on the cover of the menu then throws the receipt for me to sign. I should have asked for a refund at that point. My volcano roll you ask for 13.00 now well it wasn't how rolls usually are standing upright mine was facing flat this time with bread crumbs and scarce crab meat mixed in and a unripe avocado barely making an appearance. Small Japanese place in Herman Meadows with a huge menu. It's very small joint with just 4 indoor seats and some tables outside if the weather is good. The place is clean and the lady on the counter was friendly and helped us with our order. Food came fast as well and the quantity was good as well. Now the food is where this place disappointed us. I got the Chicken Ramyen noodle soup which was pretty salty. The Chicken was definitely boiled for way too long so it went hard and chewy. The noodles and the egg in the soup were cooked to perfection and made the soup a little better. My friend order kimchi soup which was much better. Other reviewers are right. Their sushi isn't that great and it's a bit pricey. So I always just stick to their bi bim bap. They're cheap and the portion is really big bec they give you a lot of rice. You ask for something extra, there's always gonna be an extra charge. Check out Aji Asian Cuisine in town by Plaza Center. My first three star review. This place isn't a restaurant, more of a stop and go, or pick up establishment. I mean you can stay and eat but it doesn't have a restaurant feel. I've been coming to Niko Niko for years. I usually come here if I want to get something quick or take it back home. The sushi is good but not fantastic. I suggest getting the roles or the noodles. I like this place but it doesn't wow me usually. It's the only sushi spot in town. I usually go to another county to get better quality and better tasting sushi.
