a piece of salmon on a piece of sushi

I like their special roll. And I want to suggest to make less rice on the simple salmon roll. Price was so resonable.

By looking at the place you would think it's your regular fast chinese food joint. It is definitely much more. This is Japanese food at its best. This was my 1st time visiting this establishment And I was not disappointed. 1st of all its family Owned. The chef putting attention to detail And flavor. I ordered a bento box (number 31) chicken bento. Steamed rice with Delicious chicken. A California roll included in this tasty dish. Also included was vegetable tempura And a tasty salad . Came back in November. Ordered the same bento box, it was loaded with sodium tempora vegetables were super greasy. I bought down their stars. Very disappointed. What more can you ask for?? 10.99? What a great deal for your money!! Definitely recommend this wonderful Japanese place And don't be fooled by the outside appearance. This is a must try if you're a foodie like me!!!

I've been to high price sushi spots with low light ambiance and sultry music with water fountains and all. But not one has blown me away with it's menu such as this little hole in the wall spot. The food is fresh as it is tasty and beautiful an CHEAP:.) Next time I go I'll be sure to take pics as I usually do but I just get so excited everytime I get my food an go in immediately.

Happened to be in the city with a friend who lives in the area and decided to try a sushi place neither of us had been to. I would say that the sushi was ok nothing phenomenal or a spot that I would want to revisit. The waitress could barely help when we asked for a recommendation on what was the most popular roll let alone what was her favorite. I ended up getting the red dragon roll and two spicy salmon rolls. I love tempura/flakes on my crunchy rolls but neither my friend nor I had asked for our spicy salmon rolls to have any on them. If I had ordered a crunchy roll I would've expected that but we just wanted classic spicy salmon rolls so it was kind of disappointing. I asked for a Thai iced bubble tea but they were out so I opted for lychee instead, and it tasted watery. Overall I'd say it was 3/5.

Plus the parking situation is terrible in that area so just beware it'll take some time. It's a solid spot to visit though. Super homey and the decor is cute. They have flavorful and variety rolls. We sat and were immediately helped. The waitress was very nice and patient with me and explained a lot on the menu because I'm fairly new to sushi but my girlfriend loves this spot! We started with kani salad and miso soup. Love a good miso soup. Hot and relaxing in the winter weather. The kani salad was flavorful. My first time trying it. For our meals I had the 3 classic sushi rolls with the miso soup. I love that they had different options if you didn't want to stick to just one type. They have some with 10 qty where you can select any classic rolls and salmon lovers, tuna lover, etc where you can pick any of those type of rolls. My girlfriend had the Loco Tiger which was spicy crab, shrimp tempura, wrapped in kombu moro with chipotle sauce. It was delicious! She finished it all. I tried some and really liked the shrimp tempura inside. They have good sauces too, like the sweet chili and spicy mayo. I was full so quick! Wish I could've had more space to keep going. Def check this spot out if you need a sushi fix.

Saka has a solid offer of Any 3 Rolls for ~$20. Their selection of rolls is more limiting than other places; would love if they had yellowtail or scallop as options at lunch. Nonetheless, the rolls I got were solid! The fish was fresh and the portion was great, the rice layer wasn't thick at all which is a big factor for me, and to my surprise, it came with both a miso soup & salad. The miso soup was pretty flavorful compared to others I've had and the salad came with a sesame dressing that was so refreshing with the crisp salad. I should've kept my order at that as the Crispy Spicy Salmon wasn't worth it. The crispy rice was slightly too hard/over-fried and the portion of spicy salmon was so tiny. The rice layer should be fully topped with salmon, unlike what they gave. It didn't taste half bad but I'd probably skip it next time. If you order for delivery, their insulated packaging is great for transport and temperature control. Solid try!

A preamble (or verbal ramble, take your pick): My reviews of…read morerestaurants tend to follow a certain pattern. I write about ordering a ton of food, joke once again that I'll have to start that diet very, very soon and bemoan those days long past when I used to eat like Art Carney's Ed Norton and drink like Ralph Kramden's Jackie Gleason and never gain a pound. Well, that "very, very soon" diet has finally, belatedly, become a reality. A few weeks ago, I went to my pulmonologist, and I weighed more than I ever have in my life. It shouldn't have been a shock, but it was...a bit. I talked with my oldest friend, who is my age (I'm older by 3 months), and he weighs what he weighed in high school. I don't think that's going to happen to me, but I'm thinking if I really seriously diet and lose the excess weight, maybe I can reverse or at least ameliorate some of these medical issues I've been dealing with lately. As my friend said, "At the very least, you'll feel a lot better." So... I'm trying. In the past few weeks, I've managed to lose 15 pounds. I don't think I'm going to make high school weight (which, if I remember right, was in the 190's), but I've got a good momentum going, and I'm committed to seeing where it will lead. What possible relevance does all that have to a review of Teri Teri Japanese Restaurant in Union City? It means I'm not going to be reviewing the appetizer, or the soup, or the large, spicy meal, or the rich desert, or the headache-inducing-but-soul-satisfying Coconut Bubble Tea. In other words, I'm going to eat moderately and healthily, and the review will reflect that (even if, as is my self-indulgent custom, I'm not writing a review that's moderate or...healthy? No. Let's say moderate, concise and to-the-point). Preamble over. On to the actual review... In the past, the Lunchbox Mafia where I work used to order from Okinawa and I liked their Bento Box. Sadly, they no longer offer the Bento Box, and we haven't ordered from them lately. A few times, though, we've ordered delivery from Teri Teri, and I've been satisfied. The Chicken Combo was a pretty good Bento Box replacement, with soup, salad, rice, tempura, slices of ginger (love 'em!) and a 5-piece California roll (I loathe sushi, but I can handle the California roll). Recently, the Lunchbox Mafia was going to order from Teri Teri, asked if I wanted to join them, and I checked out the menu-- and it was certainly a novel experience for me, perusing the items offered for "healthy choices." I decided on the Salmon Plate, which came with salad and rice. Delivery was quick and the prices seemed reasonable. I can't remember what The New Godfather of Lunch or Sir Cheapness (former Godfather of Lunch) ordered, but I had 2 very large pieces of perfectly cooked Salmon, and a massive pile of rice, which I picked at sparingly. The Salmon was delicious and very filling all on its own. And the salad was comprised of quality lettuce (it has always been my experience that if you receive a salad made up chiefly of Iceberg lettuce, you're eating at a cheap...in terms of quality, not necessarily price...restaurant). Once my heart had recovered from the unexpected shock of my healthy eating, I imagined I could hear it offer up a faint but...dare I say it?..."heartfelt" paen of thanks to whatever God or Gods exist that I've finally...at long last... changed my ways? (I think my liver offered up that same paen of thanks when I stopped the drinking and the opioids). In any event, all of my usual verbose nonsense aside, I've liked what I've had from here, and whether your tastes run to heavy, spicy meals or more healthful alternatives when it comes to Japanese cuisine, Teri Teri is highly recommended.
