We crossed off what we ordered.

First time at here. Came with my AYCE buddies. The appetizers were warm, but not hot. ALL the dumplings ARE AMAZING! And hot! So good! I was not a fan of the taro balls. The chinese churros are our favorite! It's the only item we ordered 2x. Dessert buns are BIG and delicious. Ice cream and sodas are included in the price. Well worth the price. We went at 11:30am on Saturday and we didn't have to wait. Parking on the street. We are definitely putting this place in our restaurant rotation.

If you come with an appetite, the AYCE is definitely great option! We tried a nice variety - our favs being the truffle XLB, wagyu potstickers, and cucumber salad. Everything was made well and fresh. The complimentary ice cream was a nice addition. Service was super friendly and attentive. It's a relatively clean place. Would probably not recommend this for larger parties (8+) since seating is limited. We went during a weekday so I can't comment on how bad parking might get during busier times, but we had no problem.

I tried Dumpling Bar for the first time yesterday with a party of 3. There aren't many AYCE dimsum places (if not any) in the SGV area and, when I heard that Dumpling Bar offered this option, I made group plans. Dumpling Bar is located along Huntington Drive where small shops and restaurants are. We arrived around 12:30PM, about an hour and a half from when the establishment opened for the day. The restaurant is fairly small and had 8 tables and a waitlist was presented upon entering. The wait wasn't long though. Signing in as #3 on the waitlist, it took about 20 minutes to be seated. Luckily, there was outdoor seating during this hot afternoon. We were seated at the table next to the kitchen window which was also the lone table on that side of the room. The restaurant was clean although there seemed to be some needed upkeeping. There was wear and tear along the wall that our table was against, and we noticed that there was a fair amount of dust on the ceiling lights above. Something that I also did not like was that the dirty dish cart was placed behind me along the side of my booth seat. (It probably can't be helped because Dumpling Bar is a small restaurant.) Food was overall good. We ordered their cucumber salad, eggrolls, shrimp tempura, pan fried potstickers, sweet&sour baby back ribs, xiao long bao (beef and truffle), beef dumplings in chili oil, har gao, shumai, bbq pork buns, sesame bao, chinese churro, taro balls and fried rice. The baby back ribs and the beef dumplings were delicious and the sesame bao hit as a final dish. Taro balls and shumai were also a hit with my +2s. -There were a few set backs for a few of the dishes however. The steamed soup dumplings were all broken when we got them and the har gao and bbq pork bao were over steamed. I think the most disappointing were the egg rolls and tempura. Although there was nothing wrong with them, they tasted awfully like Costco's frozen items.. Don't get me wrong, they are solid frozen foods, but Dumpling bar was charging $8 for 2 egg rolls and $10 for 3pcs of tempura a la carte. Staff were very friendly. There seemed to be 3 guys going around tables. Our main server came at the right time to take our courses during the AYCE experience. When we showed a little bit of hesitancy about ordering more (they have a waste policy), he reassured us that it be fine for us to try a few more dishes. We also asked if we could take some ice cream to go. Overall, we had a good experience with Dumpling Bar, but the food was just okay. The AYCE might be worth the experience however, but I recommend bringing a larger group so you can try more items. I came in with a part of 3 and we were able to go through about half the menu.

Dumpling Bar is a solid spot especially with their AYCE pricing started at $29.99 per person on weekday and $32.99 on weekend. My favorites were the Truffle XLB, Wagyu Beef Pot Stickers, and Fried Shumai. The Dan Dan Noodles were good but didn't taste like your usual Dan Dan Noodles, the pork cutlet had a buttery flavor to it and was not as crispy as I would like despite the color on it. The Chicken Chili Wontons was very sweet for a savory dish. The Har Gow in my opinion was steamed too long, the skin was soggy. To finish off my meal, I had the taro balls and really liked it. The Thrifty ice cream was a nice touch, the one with pistachio was good. Overall, Dumpling Bar was a good visit for me and worth a try if you haven't already!

When I was visiting Chapresso in San Marino, I saw Dumpling Bar next door. I was curious so I walked right in for an early light dinner. It doesn't have a very big space maybe about 10 small tables. It has very minimal decor... very simple with natural colors. They do have shared outside seating in an open courtyard with other businesses such as Mari Vees Cafe and Chapresso. I was greeted warmly and seated right away upon entry. Young gentleman who delivered the foods and provided service throughout my dining was friendly and nice. Young lady took my order was pleasant and helpful. WHOA! They are the first and only AYCE Dumplings offering unlimited servings of their handmade dumplings, noodles, and more in Los Angeles. AYCE includes appetizers, soups, xiao long bao, steamed/boiled dumplings, pot stickers, dim sum, wontons & noodles, fried rice, and desserts. Ice cream and drinks are included. AYCE price is $29.99 per person... subject to change. Weekend price may be higher... please check before ordering. They also offer the same individual items at a la carte prices for dine-in, pickup, or delivery. I had already eaten earlier in the late afternoon so I opted to order individual items. Got one bowl of Braised Beef Noodles and an order of Xiao Long Bao. Beef chunks were very amazingly tender and well braised. Soup tasted deliciously savory. Love the noodles as they were perfectly al dente and springy. Fresh and crunchy bok choy complemented the bowl nicely, but wished there were more than two bok choy stalks. For the price of $18.99, I thought the noodle bowl portion was a bit small. Xiao long baos were steaming hot and juicy. Pork filling was quite flavorful. It came with 6 dumplings for the price of $9.99. Again, portion was small. Btw, self-service water station is conveniently available near the front door. I will have to return and do AYCE to get my money's worth. I'll have to come hungry next time. Come and try them for yourself to see which option is better... AYCE or A La Carte? What is your vote?

Came here on Thursday with some friends and had the best time! The food was so delicious and the service was great. Our server Khoa was so attentive and helpful with the menu would definitely recommend coming especially with a group of friends. It's a nice place to come and eat some food with while catching up with friends. The pork cutlet was super yummy and the potstickers as well.

The Dumpling Bar has an AYCE option that is $30 for lunch. Lots of options. Home style cooking. Service was great. Food came out piping hot the location is a smaller space with about 10 tables. Self serve sodas and ice cream!

$30 for all you can eat is such a bargain! I stopped by after seeing all the reviews on social media and was very happy with my visit. Dumpling Bar is located right off Huntington Drive and there are both inside and outside seating. It is a very small restaurant, so expect a wait you plan on coming on a weekend. You pretty much can go for the AYCE option or able to order a la carte, however what you choose will apply to everyone at your table. You are given 90 minutes to order everything you want for 3 dishes per person at a time. Example, for 2 people, you will order total of 6 items per round, for unlimited # of rounds within 90 mins. Price also includes ice cream and soda. I ordered many items, and although nothing tasted amazing ... it also wasn't bad either, especially when you are paying just $30. I was disappointed with the Braised Beef Noodle because I was expecting it to be soup noodles but it was actually dry without broth. Egg Fried Rice was pretty tasteless, and the garlic green beans was actually a cold dish. I really liked the Dan Dan noodles as well as the fried pork gyoza. Service was a 10/10 - our server was very nice and took his time to explain the menu to us. He was the only one working the dining room and did a pretty good job managing everything on his own. Overall, I am glad I had the chance to finally try Dumpling Spot, and plan on bringing my girls back because they are obsessed with dumplings.

Laura C.

Definitely worth it! Price cant be beat for what you are getting! Would I wait almost 2 hours again, mmmm probably not but not because it's not good but I was so hangry by the time I sat lol. So next time I would go after 3pm has the wait dies out and you get sat faster. Food was good and they do charge for leftovers so just be mindful of the quantity you are ordering. Our waitress was friendly&great and she was managing the whole floor alone. There's plenty of parking, but the "waiting area" is not the most ideal as there are other businesses next to the Dumpling Bar and it felt like we were in the way which we were. I wouldn't recommend this place for a group of more than 4 since the place is small with small tables.

Michelle W.

My family LOVES dumplings and who can say no to an AYCE dumpling restaurant. Well we've never been to one and we had to see what the hype was about. You get to order anything on the menu And there Is a time limit of 90 mins. So we ordered, scarfed everything down and got up so others could be seated in our place. We tried out Dumpling Bar in San Marino and honestly I see why it's hyped. Let me say the service is top tier. They have self serve drinks and ice cream but as far as checking on how we're doing that was constant. We were always asked how we were if we wanted another round and empty plates never stayed on the table. Now the food.... Omg so good. The family ordered: - cucumbers - sweet and sour ribs - fried shao mai - egg rolls - braised beef noodle - Wagyu fried pot sticker - pork xlb bao - beef dumpling - chicken with chili wonton - chongquig mala noodle with pork chop - shrimp shao mai - taro balls - chocolate bun They offer self serve drinks and ice cream stations and the ice cream is thrifty.... My kids fav Overall 10/10 we WILL be back.

On a Friday at 522pm in early May, hubby and I found parking in front. We git a table and most of the tables was full. The 2 staff persons was nice and he explained ayce $30 per person with free sodas. We ordered 3 dishes per person-braised beef noodle soup, xlb, and Sui mai. Hubby ordered egg rolls, hot sour soup, beef dumplings. The dishes came one by one. The highlights are xlb and Wagyu pan fried dumplings, braided beef was tender in the noodles are good. After an hour, we were full and all the tables were occupied. It's amazing to watch the 2 servers clean the tables, explain the menu, take the orders, and serve the dishes. Inside is small of 6 small tables of 2 and 2 tables of 4. Nice ambiance inside except 2 small kids had their temper tantrums which killed the mood.

We came for dinner to celebrate my youngest's 21st birthday a couple of months ago and this was an AYCE dumpling house. This place did NOT disappoint at all! I highly recommend this spot if you haven't tried it yet. Everything was soooooo delicious that I'm still thinking about all those dumplings. I would absolutely come back. The wait time was not long at all. We waited 25min tops and they have a sheet to sign in right by the front entry. You can order a la carte, but the AYCE is worth it. Staff is super friendly. They don't have a huge variety of dumplings, but they have enough to satisfy everyone's tastebuds. If you haven't visited them you definitely need to check this place out!

Cathy E.

Great spot for ACE dumplings!! This little shop off Huntington Drive serves their dumplings, noodles, sides, and everything else on the menu ACE or a la carte. However, I highly suggest ACE, since you will definitely be getting your moneys worth. The shop is pretty small so a queue builds up quick. I've been on weekends and weekdays and have waited 30 mins to an hour for a seat, be sure to be either come early to skip the line or grab a drink to its neighboring shops while waiting! Once you get in, service is fast, however be prepared of a little bit of a wait for dumplings. Everything else comes out pretty quick so I'd suggest getting the string beans a cucumber while waiting on your dumplings. My favorites were the boiled beef dumplings and their truffle xiao long bao. For desert they offer chinese churros and an ice cream bar. Our server suggest getting them both and eating together which was a perfect way to end our meal. Definitely come here to get some awesome ACE dumplings!!

But as for the food itself, the standouts would be the fried shrimp and the lobster. The shrimp is perfectly fried and I enjoy how soft the shell is. I like the lobster alot too. I personally prefer the way it's prepared at Henry's, but Newport's is still pretty decent. For the most part, the food is overloaded with MSG. Each time I've gone or taken food to go, I feel massively dehydrated after that I get a headache if I don't drink enough water. Luckily the staff was pretty on top of refilling our waters, and they often switched out our plates for clean ones. We've been going for years, and they used to allow substitutions for the set menu. But on a recent visit, this didn't seem like it was a thing anymore.

The filling seemed to be only pork, no veggies, which would have been nice if there was more flavor from vegetables. The sauce was mildly spicy and mildly numbing, slight sesame flavor. String beans 8/10: wok hei flavor and savory. Could have had more garlic flavor and crispier texture of the beans. Din tai fung beans are still #1 for me! My go to items that I order are the large teas. The passion fruit or mango teas are gigantic. They do make it sweet though so I end up ordering a couple of cup of ice water and add the tea into it. Then we always get a non spicy popcorn chicken and I'll get a side of the chili powder so I can share this with the kids. We love the pan fried dumplings and XIAO long baos too. It's best to come during the week or else there's always a wait during the weekend. I feel like during the week the wait staff has some time to focus on their customers and to refill drinks and get napkins etc.....

Pan fried dumpling (sheng jian bao) - Surprisingly good! tasty, juicy inside with lots of broth. Popcorn chicken - decent as well, generous portions with good meaty chunks Wonton in red chilli oil - It was decent but I wish it had a little bit of vinegar to add some tang. Soup dumpling/ Xiao long bao - This was okay, skin was a little thick but generous fillings with lots of soup House noodle soup - Broth was very tasty and it was a comforting soup dish, but nothing to rave about. Devil spicy beef noodle - Was expecting this to be super spicy, but honestly the spice level is just medium and it was more mala (numbing spice) than just regular spice. Overall meal portions are reasonably generous. Will return again.

I walked into Hengry not knowing anything. My friend had this placed bookmarked for a while and made a reservation for our girls lunch. The interior was vastly different than the exterior and surrounding buildings. Various vibrant modern artwork and velvety seating filled the small intimate dining room. There's a private dining room towards the back of the restaurant as well. Parking was a small lot and a covered garage, shared with a small motel. The food was good portioned. Especially the chili beef and miao sour soup. The chili beef was spicy and had flavors of charred pepper and peppercorns. The Miao sour fish soup reminds me of the Vietnamese sour fish soup, with flavors of lemongrass. We also ordered the sesame Chinese lettuce (celtuce), braised pork belly w/ mustard greens, and sautéed A-choy. Every dish was delicious! Will definitely be back to try other dishes next time.
