Came here back in December because my friend kept raving about the food. It's a combination of a store selling snacks/bakery/restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very limited seating inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food does take awhile because they make everything fresh so when you do get it, it is piping hot! The three of us got the Picada for 2 to share and the Caldo de Bola Res with grilled tilapia. It was more than enough to share and we had leftovers that we could eat for two more meals at home. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked well. Nothing tasted dry at all! The chicharron was my favorite so I got a separate order of just that to take home. Highly recommend and would definitely go there again!

So glad we learned about this place. Who would have thought you could find Colombian food on Oliver St! We shared a chicken empanada and beef empanada as well as Arroz con Pollo. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious and the empanadas were served with a delicious sauce that was good on everything. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very basic shop but had quite a bit of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They sell a bunch of drinks from Columbia and I tried a delicious Potabon Apple flavored drink. Also sell candy and homemade baked goods. Service was helpful and when we said it was so good, the guy said, "I know!" Definitely interested in trying other items.

This place is fantastic. I accidentally stumbled on it looking for a Mexican bakery and I'm so glad it did! The food was great and very authentic. I ordered the Picada to share with another person and there was more than enough food for us. We both took home boxes that easily could've fed another person each. The service was good and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restaurant was very clean and culturally decorated to show Colombian pride.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a great experience and I can't wait to try other things on the menu. This place is an incredible addition to the area!

Bright and cheerful little bakery/restaurant with delicious Columbian delights. There was a glass case with baked goods including specialty breads and pastry along with a kitchen cooking up fresh meals. The menus are not very complete and a little hard to read but they are friendly there and if you ask they are happy to help. They were out of roasted pork the day we went, and at first this was disappointing. After some discussion with the very nice young lady at the counter she suggested a variety meat platter to share and we went for it. We are not big fans of German Blood Sausage so when we saw a Columbian version was on the platter we asked for a substitute which was gladly provided (extra chicken). The platter was huge and full of delicious meats ( chicken, steak, fried pork, pork belly and sausages). Along with potatoes, plantain and Yucca. All delicious, juicy, roasted and well seasoned. I also tried a cheese filled bread and a dulce de leche cake. The bread was great, the cake tasty but I felt a little dry. We will happily be back to try arepas and more.

Cheese soup with potato and pasta. Seasoned perfectly.

Authentic Columbian Food on Oliver street in NT!? That's right. This is the real deal. I tried the daily special which was a skirt steak (very thin- seasoned wonderfully) served with salad, fried plantain and white rice. (Just so you know... when it comes to Columbian food- the white rice is the measuring stick and these folks got it right!) I stared off with a cheese soup that was fantastico. I was really in the mood for some buñuelos but they had sold out for the day. I will definitely be back looking for them. If you can overcome the slight language barrier at the counter you will be rewarded with some very tasty, unique, and authentic Columbian cuisine. Give it a shot.

Dulce Hogar Bakery is one of the best places I have eaten Colombian food. The owners are super friendly and the food to die for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt at home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 100 percent recommend them! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Eating here was like eating at home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We took a picture of this huge platter, which four of us could not finish. The grilled chicken salad and shrimp cocktail were also out of this world!

    Bandeja Paisa - get some!

This bakery doubles as a place to get an authentic Columbian meal cooked by people you would hope to see in the kitchen. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is not fancy, but a family-run place where they aim to please with their home cooking and service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have been to Costa Rica and the DR and it brought me back there in my mind. The food was excellent and worth a visit - we will be back.

Let me try and then review lol

They get 2.5 stars…read more Bandeja paisa: steak was decent, crackling was so-so (pretty crispy but not that moist or flavourful). Sausage tasted decent but slightly dry. Egg was a bit overdone & arepa was decent though somewhat crispy  Beans were decent. Plantain was so-so (not crispy or sweet). Pork tenderloin was pretty tasty but tough & dry especially for a tenderloin. Rice was decent, with a slight flavour, but a bit mushy. Plantain was crispy. The restaurant interior was decorated quite nicely but was very warm (in summer) & service was disorganised & some servers didn't speak English well so communication was sometimes difficult. I asked if the pork tenderloin had a sauce; they said no but it came with a tomato & peppers sauce. They also billed me wrongly.

Incredibly delicious food, authentically Colombian, big portions, and amazing value for money. The…read moreseafood dishes are filled with various different kinds of high-quality seafood to the brim (more protein than rice). All the staff are so friendly - from the waitstaff to the chefs / owners and kitchen staff, everyone in the restaurant seems to exhibit the Latin American hospitality and friendliness. The place feels homey, cozy, and festive with the music in the background (from the TV screen on the wall), and big photos depicting different places in Colombia along the wall. Ambience is very laid-back and casual, with amazing food that tastes homemade and authentic. It took a while for the food to cook and come out (about 40 minutes) - mostly because of the Cazuela de Mariscos (seafood soup) that took the longest to cook. It was also during a very busy time on a weekend. They seemed to have a constant flow of incoming catering and take-out orders (a good sign), and the restaurant itself was packed. All / most mains come with coconut rice, salad, and tostones (fried plantains). As for drinks, you can order freshly squeezed juices in either water or milk. We ordered the fresh strawberry & blackberry juice in water, as the one in milk would make it more like a smoothie. Each juice order comes in a jug (whether it be a small or large jug). This came as a surprise to us - really good value for such a large volume of juice ($6 for a whole "small" jug that turned out to be quite big, enough to refill each glass a few times for 2 people). The juice itself tasted fresh, natural, and refreshing. Dishes that we tried: 1) Filete de Tilapia con Camarones (grilled tilapia fish fillet & shrimps with coconut rice, plantain, and salad) - Big pieces of fish and lots of small shrimps, in a very delectable sauce. 2) Arroz Marinero (seafood rice with plantain & salad) - Loved this dish. The rice was a bit soupy which I liked. It was a bit like a soupy paella (including the rice) - very delicious and packed with various kinds of seafood. 3) Cazuela de Mariscos (seafood soup with coconut rice, plantain, and salad) - Very creamy soup, like a chowder. I'm not a big fan of chowders / cream-based soups in general, but others liked it and said this was good. 4) SIDE: Ensalada (House Salad) 5) Arepa de Chocolo con Queso (sweet corn dough with cheese) All of the main dishes were EXCELLENT - loved the mixed seafood (fish fillet, shrimps, octopus, squid, etc.). There was so much seafood in every dish. In most places, you get more carbs / rice compared to the protein. Here, it was the opposite. The coconut rice was a bit dry but it's decent - good to soak up the sauces of the main dishes. The salad is just shredded cabbage and carrot with big sliced tomato. I was a big fan of the salad dressing (some creamy mayo-like dressing), but luckily the dressing was only at the top of the salad (the bottom part of the salad remained fresh and crunchy, which I liked). We ordered the Arepa de Chocolo con Queso for to go. It was different than the Venezuelan arepa that I'm used to. The Colombian arepa seemed to be sweeter and more buttery. It probably would've been better if it was eaten right after it was freshly made, and while it was still warm. There was a lot of cheese in the arepa, giving it a nice salty and savoury contrast to the sweet corn dough. After you're done the meal, you go up to the counter to pay (instead of having the bill brought to your table). Great food overall - I would not hesitate to come back.

. After a very long wait, the newly opened TTC Line 5 was finally there. I just wanted to hop on…read morethe Line 5 train and see where it could take us. Rincón Paisa already had many positive reviews on major platforms. Plus, I had never had Colombian food . On the storefront, a worker happened to see me taking photos outside and kindly welcomed me to take more. My family and I went into the restaurant. There were many signs showing it is an authentic one: 1. The indoor decoration has a strong Latin American vibe -- wooden furniture, flowers, Latin music, etc. 2. Couldn't understand anything on the menu 3. All customers and workers spoke in Spanish We were there to have brunch. I don't recall exactly which dishes we ordered that day; however, we were super full! The portions of their meals are huge. All the things on the plate were tasty. There were many different ingredients on the plate: plantain, eggs, chorizo, fried pork belly, ground beef, avocado, rice, beans, etc. A very good deal. We might have seemed too unfamiliar with the food, because I didn't even know how to eat Empanadas. After I ordered an Empanada and let the servers in the restaurant watch me eat it awkwardly, a server who I guessed might be the owner treated us to two pastries -- one looked like a ball, and the other was flat bread. I looked them up by AI, and they should be Buñuelo and Almojábana, two cheese pastries from Colombia. I hope it's appropriate, but Buñuelo may be the most delicious cheese bread I've ever had -- it's tastier than the main dishes . I think it's a beautiful local business. If you're curious and haven't had Colombian food before, definitely give it a shot .

I ended up grabbing some empanadas and holy shit these are tasty. They were so fresh and crispy, I got one chicken and potato empanada and one cheese. They have tamales here too, I'd like to come back to try them. The interior is also very clean and the decor is so cute. Guy with the tattoos and stretched ears at the front was also really nice. I wish I had more time to try a dish!! I saw other peoples' food and it looked so tasty. Great portions and beautiful dinnerware as well. Will definitely be back and highly recommend for a quick bite :)

What a wonderful surprise!…read more Being an unclaimed business with only one review, there were questions about whether or not this would be successful or worthwhile. The process of ordering felt strange. I thank the previous reviewer who recommended going to the Facebook page for more information. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063964563481&mibextid=ZbWKwL I reached out via WhatsApp and asked what was available to order & how this process works. Roberto was SUPER nice, talking me through the process of ordering, payment (via Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp), and pickup. My options for yesterday were seven different pupusas: Chicharrón y queso (pork and cheese), Revueltas (mix: pork, beans, cheese), Frijol y queso (beans and cheese), Solo de queso (only cheese), Camarón y queso (shrimp and cheese), Loroco y queso (Loroco and cheese), and Jalapeño y queso (Jalapeño and cheese). My friend doesn't like shrimp, but I ordered 2 of each anyway LOL We shared the rest and ate our fill - with leftovers to spare! I wasn't sure what Loroco was, so I even learned something new... According to preparedcooks.com, Loroco is a green unopened flower bud. It is quite popular for its use in sauces, stews, and soups. The flower comes from a herbaceous vine known as Fernaldia pandurata, and you can find between 8 and 18 flowers on each plant. Loroco has a very distinctive taste. It tastes like most greens but combined with overtones of nuts. It has an earthy-artichoke flavor to accompany the overtones of nuts. The taste of loroco is best described as a cross between squash and mild broccoli. My friend & I were both pleasantly surprised by the light flavor. We were given a fresh & delicious side to top our pupusas with called curtido. According to TastesBetterFromScratch.com, Curtido is a Salvadoran cabbage slaw or relish made with finely shredded cabbage, red onion, carrot, oregano, and vinegar. House of Pupusas makes their curtido with pickled jalapeños instead of onion - delightful! We also were treated to salsa roja, made with tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and garlic. The salsa roja was thinner than I expected - more like gazpacho than a traditional salsa - but super tasty just the same. I've only got one photo to show you, because we were so busy "oohing", "aahing", and shoveling all the food into our faces - after deciding which pupusa to try first. While this is my first try of pupusas, I recently also tried an arepa for the first time. Arepas are thick pockets of masa and MUCH heavier than a pupusa. I think I prefer a pupusa because you have a more even distribution of filling to "pocket". The only caveat to this amazing place is that there's no eat-in option. They offer takeaway or delivery. I chose to pick up my order so we could enjoy our meal by the Outer Harbor. Other than loud seagulls and a bit of a breeze, we had the BEST food and a wonderful time catching up. I'm excited to see House of Pupusas grow and flourish. Perhaps they'll open a food truck in the near future. If they do, I'll be first in line ready to tackle another order of EVERYTHING.
