Pastries and empanadas, Puerto Rican style, can be found at this Westside bakery. Lots of delicious looking sweets. The guava filled pastry was especially good. Each pastry was about a $1 each. The chicken (pollo) empanadas were a bit bland in taste surprisingly. I was expecting a little kick. Yet, still quite nice. Their are beef, pork and cheese filled empanadas too. Empanadas around $2 -$3 each. Since I was there early in the day around 9 am, I didn't see some hot meals they make - like baked chicken and stews. Good to support local folks in our area and sample Puerto Rican cuisine.

This place has legit Puerto Rican delights! Pork, chicken dishes, rices, pastelillos, flan, other desserts... the fried pork was fried hard on the outside and tender inside. Very well seasoned... really, everything was delicious! I didn't eat the rice even though it's one of my very favorite things on earth, (they have yellow and red rice here) but my dining partner said it was good, but she's had better... There was a tent next to the building where meats on sticks were being grilled... smelled good and the chicken with mojito was delicious! We really enjoyed this spot!

The hell wrong with this place? Let me start by saying I have frequented many Latino restaurants homes countries festivals venues people's houses, people's houses just to chill, people houses just to eat, people's houses just too.. Devil's lettuce. But this establishment.. tripping. I really think people who are familiar with the workers there frequent this establishment. I say that because I saw the demeanor of the woman taking the order change went 2 other patrons came in. Also one of the workers was chit-chatting it up with a family outside. That same family kept staring at me and my cousins like we did something wrong. Or like we stole from them. It was quite uncomfortable. Second. I asked for Cafe Con leche. The woman pointed over to the trash can where creamers and sugar were on top of. The coffee was burnt. And it definitely wasn't any type of Hispanic coffee. That was all of Folgers or Maxwell house. It was some nasty trash American coffee. And I don't drink or rock with American coffee. Epic mention... She kept rolling her eyes when she was taking my order. I should have left. Just straight walked out when she was doing it. But those empanadas were looking mighty good. And you know what... They were the bomb! I have a strong feeling the food in this joint is the bomb! But if you going to have a funky attitude with somebody new much less somebody from out of town comes to visit... Best believe I can take my money elsewhere... Across the street to Niagara Cafe to be specific! The place is totally run down looking as though it's not making much money or either they didn't apply for the PPP loan. But with all of that attitude and staring, keep those bomb ass empanadas! Yeah they were the bomb but not enough to deal with that type of behavior. It's real crazy because the white people in this city are so freaking friendly! They're friendly like the Denver White people! So you're super relaxed and your guard is so down! Then to have to walk into this establishment with the staring and eye rolling.. hard pass not returning! But those empanadas were good!

Great authentic Spanish food! I highly recommend the stewed, roasted chicken, and fried pork chop dinners. The pastellilos are okay, I prefer the across the street competition but theirs aren't too bad. I'm just not a big fan of the doughy crust - but theirs aren't GOYA - La Flor makes theirs fresh so there's that. What can I say great reasonably priced delicious authentic Spanish food boom

In an undesirable location, but ordered cheesecake and tres leche. Split one w spouse over 2 nights. Not overly sweet. Cheesecake was my fave of the 2. Prices were great

I used to love this place! The fried chicken there is super cheap and they are super nice. However, I just can't believe they charged me $12 for a portion of rice that's not even enough to feed 2 people! It doesn't make any sense that their chicken ($2/piece) is wayyy cheaper than just plain yellow rice. I don't know if this is a mistake or what, but when I called, they said it was right. It was ridiculous!

Come for the empanadas, stay for the dessert. La flor is constantly coming in hot with their fresh empanadas. This is a truly authentic Puerto Rican restaurant and bakery. Everything from their colors to their decor to their food, they're doing it right. Conveniently located on the west side and right near the entrance to the 190 and right down the street from Niagara square, no mater where you're going, la flor isn't too far away. Their fresh empanadas are my favorite. They have all different flavors like chicken, veggie, beef, pizza, and more. The outside is so crunchy and tasty and the inside is a meaty packed mouth full of flavor. My favorite is definitely beef but I do love them all. Of course you can't stop at the empanadas though, you have to try their guava squares. It's layered phyllo dough with guava curd in the middle and topped with powdered sugar yumm yumm yumm. I also am a huge fan of their tres leche cake, it's so creamy and moist you just can't beat it. Their prices are so reasonable too, you can come feed the whole family. Obviously this is a Yes. Yes. Yes.

My boyfriend and I love to come here on the weekends for their breakfast sandwiches! They make their own bread daily, how can you say no to that! I get the ham, egg, lettuce, onion, cheese, Mayo, and ketchup.

    Bacalao and Yellow Rice

So dissatisfied and disappointed with this restaurant. I've came here on occasion for lunch and I usually get a small order of Bacalao or "Bacalhoada", with yellow rice and beans on the side. I've had their deserts and they are not my favorite. They look great, but the taste doesn't match. Today I decided to bring a friend and also get a large order of my beloved Bacalao. What. A. Waste. First of all, I was most certainly overcharged! ... the large literally had the same amount of food as the small. The food wasn't bad but the rice was overcooked and the peas in the rice were hard as rock. This was most upsetting as the rice is always something I look forward to when opting for a Puerto Rican dining experience. My friend decided to get an order of baked chicken and yellow rice with beans on the side. He said his chicken was flavor-less and and somewhat slimy compared to Niagara Cafe's famous rotisserie (across the street). I will say their passion fruit juice was good. In a nutshell- way overpriced for the value, and the food isn't bad but it's hit or miss.

The pastries before getting swarmed. Even hornets love La Flor.

Service is very slow, the food served is very skimpy. If ordering the waiting time could be a little bit longer than usual.
