If you want real Dominican food that you can at least stomach without being disgusted, try Latino Cuisine at the Galleria Mall. We came here and got the mac and cheese, ribs with yellow rice, and the fried pork bites with yellow rice. First, we ordered the mac and cheese. It came once we were done with our two first meals, which we couldn't even finish. It was basically a soup with a cup of actual macaroni; the rest was just cheese liquid, very disgusting, and it doesn't look at all like what they advertise on DoorDash/Uber Eats. The rice wasn't actual Dominican rice; it had corn in it. They had no moro, and when I asked for it, he put huge brown beans with the sauce that ruined the rice. Also, they only had rice with corn or white rice. The fried pork bites were really dry; they needed a sauce. The only thing we liked were the ribs slathered in BBQ sauce, which was still mediocre. The service was awful, trying to rush you into making a decision just for the food to take ages. He got annoyed by other customers asking questions and modifications. They only had one person in the back cooking, and if they don't "feel like it," it doesn't get done even if it's on the menu. At one point, it felt like we were getting punked because everyone else was getting four plates worth, and they had amazing reviews online. Huge money waste! Almost 50 dollars--back home, I'll tell you, this would have been 35 max. Everything was off from the service to the food in other places where Dominican food is common like nyc or Pennsylvania allentown people who work are respectful and make good food. They bring that Dominican experience over to the U.S, this really sucked. Sadly no pictures taken as we threw the food out and this was a couple days ago. It honestly felt like the big guy at the front was antagonizing us after the mac and cheese, every second coming over and asking if we like the food. Overall, horrible food, flies and mosquitoes everywhere at the restaurant, weird seating, and a huge waste of money if you like actual, real, authentic Dominican food.

Service- I'm BIG on service and the service at this family owned establishment is ALWAYS EXCELLENT!…read moreTo the point I feel like I'd probably have the same experience if actually visited Trinidad and Tobago. The FOOD- Is DELICIOUS Carribbean food. I love everything, the stew chicken, the curry chicken, the jerk chicken, and my favorite....the Trinbago Chinese Chicken. The patties are authentic and soooo good- Buttery, flaky (but not too much), great flavor and spice. I recommend all of them, but the curry and beef are my favorite. Lastly you MUST try the homemade drinks, no recycled store bought here. You haven't had Ginger Beer until you've had theirs. It's homemade and will clear you up in a good way...strong and sweet. The Lime is delicious! The Sorrel is like a cross between loganberry with a hint of licorice (and I don't even like licorice, but this just works). Sides are very good too. I like the Mac pie and the cabbage is on the tougher side but that works for me because I do not like soft cabbage. The restaurant itself is VERY clean and intimate. An upgrade from their food truck in ways that make me so happy for them and the community. I've been able to work here on my laptop while enjoying great food. Check them out. You won't be disappointed!

The atmosphere was warm, lively, and inviting for both intimate conversations and lots of laughter. For my drink, the sorrel smash was definitely a smash! It was smooth, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. For appetizers, the Tallyman Boat completely surprised me. The plantain hummus was so creamy and flavorful. I also got the Saltfish Fritters which are a must order. Now if you enjoy jerk chicken and pork, do not skip the Jerk Experience - table side. The jerk pork especially had me about to do a praise dance. Now keep in mind it ain't cheap, it was $85, but it was a good time for my tastebuds. The only miss was the fried snapper. It was more so because it was a such a little piece and not necessarily because of flavor.

The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, and it opens up to a little open air stage area so we got to hear live music in the background. The little newspaper article in the window about Chef Darian's (and other local Buffalo chefs) immigration/ culinary journey was so inspiring, I love to see immigrants not only find success in America but celebrating and sharing their culture with us. That is was makes this country great. Dinner was absolutely phenomenal, I felt so lucky that the week my friend and I visited that they were featuring winning dishes from Next Level Chef. The service was excellent, the staff were so welcoming and attentive. I don't know the next time I will be able to visit Buffalo, but I will definitely be returning. When we left my friend was already texting his mom and grandma planning another day trip to Buffalo to take them here. Cannot speak highly enough!

I got two plates to split, one with a chicken and one with a beef pastelito. The plates also include BBQ chicken, rice and beans, mac and cheese, and a side salad. The rice and beans were well seasoned and delicious, the mac and cheese was good too. But I'm definitely just going back for more pastelitos! LitosNY is on the back of La Nova, if I had just the address and not a tour guide I might have had some trouble finding it because their entrance is on the parking lot side, not facing the road.

I got two OG chicken pastelitos with a side of their hand cut fries; I also tried a Buffalo chicken. After I saw pics of their rice and mac & cheese, I wish I would have tried them. They looked sooo good! The fries were very soggy and I was disappointed. I'm not sure if it was how they were fried or if they softened due to the steam in the container. Either way, mehhh. However, the pastelitos were gooood. The OG chicken ones were tasty, although I was expecting potatoes & cheese inside. I totally acknowledge that this can just be my own ignorance, as I haven't eaten them in years. I really LOVED the Buffalo chicken; the flavors were consistent throughout the pastelito & there was just enough kick. I definitely plan to try this place again; the food was not bad at all for the price.
