This place is wonderful, a great value for your money. This is americanized Spanish establishment. They have mini churros that mirror the traditional churros in Spain, particularly in Madrid. The churro are meant to be served with chocolate on the side for dipping. The hot chocolate drink is out of the world, very delicious. You will not regret this especially during the winter season. They have ice cream, which is a fantastic choice to go with churros. You cannot go wrong with the ice cream at all, which is why I attributed this place as an americanized spanish. Churros have been all the rage recently, so I was super excited to find this cute little churro cafe. I stopped by on a weekend with some friends and we were able to sample a variety of churros paired with soft serve. Service was friendly if slow, but I didn't mind that since the churros were freshly fried. There's a good amount of seating inside to enjoy the churros and soft serve on the spot, although many of the tables had crumbs on them from previous patrons. The menu consists of different kinds of churros, with or without fillings, with or without soft serve, and with or without toppings. Churro filled with Bavarian cream: I definitely liked the fried freshness of this churro. It was crunchy on the outside but still soft on the inside and had a nice balance of sugar to cinnamon flavor. The Bavarian cream was a little on the sweet side for me and I ended up squeezing some of it out so it didn't overwhelm the churro, but I liked the pairing overall. Vanilla and chocolate swirl soft serve with churro dipped in strawberry sauce: I wasn't a huge fan of the soft serve because the texture was pretty icy and the chocolate flavor wasn't particularly strong so that the two flavors just blended together. The churro itself was definitely freshly made, but the strawberry sauce was drizzled on while the churro was too hot and ended up melty and gloopy. The hot churro also ended up melting a good amount of the soft serve. Vanilla soft serve with churro and crushed Oreo toppings: The vanilla soft serve was again pretty icy in texture and melted by the hot churro. The Oreo topping was pretty chunky and could've been crushed a little better. I liked the churro better without any sauce on top. Not a bad combination overall. I would be willing to give this cute little churro cafe another try, but I might stick with their stuffed churros rather than pairing it with soft serve or any dippings. It's a hard line getting the churro freshly fried but cool enough to put on dippings and soft serve, but that might be an important point to perfect. read more

This place is all about churros and taking them to the next level. On my trip to Barcelona, I remember seeing churros stands in the city that we're filled with delicious cream, Carmel or some sort of fruit filling. These churros stood up to the standards of churros out in Barcelona. They even do a great job of having hot drinks like chai teas and hot chocolates to pair up a delicious churro. I have had a churro ice cream sandwich in southern California and I felt like I had to go with to that to see how it holds up. Honestly it was delicious plua the churro is made fresh and served warm. Took my grandma here as a surprise and she loved it. It's all she talk about now when she comes to visit me. Pretty dang good stuff!

I came in with a large group today and the young man was very accommodating and sweet to us, he took all our orders and went to the back to make our churros fresh. My only complaint is that this restaurant is very very dirty. The floors are covered with debris, crumbs, dust, pieces of hair as well as all of the green chairs that sit outside are not placed outside and are stained and dirty, the legs of the white tables outside are very filthy too. Everything just needs possibly a bucket with soap and warm water to be clean. The bench had hair and crumbsi had to wipe off just to sit, all the while it was at 12pm just one hour after they opened. These just might be the best churros we have ever had. I like the ordering process and the different variety of styles you can get. You pick the style of churro (traditional, twisted, bites, etc) then you can add on a dip (on the side), a glaze (on the churro), toppings or a filling. You can even add soft serve ice cream. It's a cool concept. I went with the Spaniard (four small twists) with chocolate glaze and sprinkles. My girlfriend got the traditional el grande (sugar and cinnamon) with vanilla soft serve with sprinkles. We both enjoyed our selections a lot. The ice cream is nothing special but it compliments the churro for sure. I liked the chocolate glaze but it was almost too much, I would probably just get one plain next time or maybe get a dip on the side. Overall if you like churros you have got to try this place. La Dulce Vita! Churros galore! Filled, looped, glazed, you name it, they probably offer it at this cafe. They also offer soft serve and coffee. The shop is conveniently located right next to YouFit Health Club to perfectly ruin all that effort you put into the treadmill and elliptical ;) I had a looped churro with chocolate glaze, soft serve vanilla, and mango dip. When it came out it looked so delicious! When I took the first bite though I was disappointed to find 90% of the churro was tough and chewy. The chocolate glaze on top was a nice touch but it was way too sweet for me. The soft serve was decent and added a nice temperature and texture difference with the rest of the dessert. I liked the mango dip as well. At over $6 for this dessert, sadly I can get better tasting churros for cheaper at a Costco food court. This review is for the Dulce Churro in Mt Pleasant South Carolina. This place was absolutely beautiful There was a huge tree with cherry blossoms dripping from the roof. They have a swing and many photo ops. I enjoyed the egg, potato and chorizo burrito. It was accompanied by a delicious salsa verde. My mom liked her egg omelet and my daughter loved her chicken waffle. The chicken had an amazing spice and the waffles had maple~honey syrup that was addicting! My granddaughter had the coconut water cotton candy. YUMMY!! My daughter also bought their signature alcoholic drink, The cherry blossom. The beau is a fan of churros so we stopped in last week. Don't be overwhelmed when you walk in - the newness has worn off & the staff seems to expect you to know what you're talking about when you place your order. We didn't & apologized, thankfully there weren't any lines forming behind us as we tried to figure out how to order. There are several different ways you can order your churro, but not all the ways are available with the fillings/toppings and such. We fumbled through our order settling on a loop (which you cannot order filled) with the Bavarian creme to dip in and regular churro dipped in the strawberry glaze with fruity pebbles, vanilla soft serve on the side, with mango dipping sauce. Your order will be served pipping hot (and not necessarily together as they are making them by hand - which you can witness through a window behind the counter (makes for some great pics). Flavor was good, but too crispy/hard for my liking. I tasted some of his with the dip & all and it was just too sweet for me. There is ample seating inside & outside the restaurant. If I may make a suggestion, follow Pita Jungle's lead (Val Vista location) and add some buffers to the ceiling to cut down on the volume level inside. We couldn't have a conversation seated next to each other at the counter as there was a family seated against the opposite wall that was allowing their kids to screech and yell. Even the counter help had to attempt to yell over them as they aided another couple in ordering. We will probably give this place another shot down the road. read more
