We have been here 2 times over the course of 4 days. lol it's really really good. For $18 we got churro bites, churro fries with soft serve, and a churro bowl with soft serve. I used to love this churro place so much... I loved the both locations here in Chandler and Mesa, but not so much anymore. I started this change in flavor since 6-7 months ago, I kept gave it a try, but finally yesterday I realized that something really has changed. Maybe they don't really have a manager or didn't really train their employees how to make churros. So this time i ordered spaniard and a scoop of ice cream, i saw that they fried two churros first, probably along with other orders, then fried the other two later- so first two churros got cold. And put so much sugar, I felt like just biting sugar. And they were undercooked. This happened last two times when I visited here... I'm a semi-regular here and had to do this review because every single time this place is amazing. There is a slight wait for the churros to cook, but it's worth it as it's all freshly made. I've came solo and with my family and the service is always great, staff is kind, and the churros and toppings are delicious. The stamp program they offer is clutch when you have kids as the stamps add up to get a free churro after I believe ten stamps. The prices as well are very respectable as I was able to get dessert for a family of six with ice cream and fillings for just over $35. One cool thing about this place is that you can watch them make your order through a glass window. They make their churros in different shapes like a big loop, multiple loops, bite size or filled with flavors like nutella or delce de leche. You can then customize your churro with a variety of dips, glazes, and toppings. If you love ice cream, you can get a churro bowl with ice cream or an ice cream churro sandwich. Dulce Churro Cafe's website talks about the history of churros and how they were created by Spanish shepherds while tending their sheep. They pay homage to that in their store with a picture of a sheep in their logo and a stuffed animal on the counter. Owner Jared Naumann did a lot research on the origins of the churro and then used that as inspiration when he opened his stores. Dulce Churro Cafe was even featured on the Cooking Channel.
