This place was jam packed when we arrived and orders are slow to churn out but it's well worth the wait! There's also limited seating indoors so be sure to grab a chair when one frees up. We ordered an el grande churro with strawberry glaze and sprinkles, one Nutella filled churro, and one chocolate glazed loop with vanilla soft serve.. AND a horchata latte for a total of $20.75. The latte was delicious and gone in a heartbeat but the cinnamon sugar sinks down to the bottom of the cup. I'm also not a fan of the soft serve we ordered. BUT the churro is perfection! Doughy, warm, fresh and HUGE! I was bummed they didn't offer a strawberry filling but the Nutella option was everything I never knew I needed! Believe the hype! This place is everything I want and more! The churro comes out hot and with just enough cinnamon and sugar to curb the cravings without being overly sweet. I opted for no filling because I just wanted a churro but if you want, you can get it filled with dulce de leche or chocolate. You can also get it in a loop or get dips to dip it or even get it with ice cream. I definitely recommend checking this place out. Drove here from Tempe and I was kind of disappointed. I came early afternoon on a Tuesday and there was one guy working alone and he was pretty busy. He did greet me right away but was working on a large order. I had to wait about 15 min for my churros and to be honest they weren't that great. I order a strawberry dipped and it was strawberry frosting. Idk why I was expecting real strawberries or like a jelly. I'm not a frosting fan. Crispy and warm is all I can say about their churros, but not much else. However, in fairness it was 20 minutes before they closed so maybe it was just a one off occurrence. Anywho... We ordered the churros 3 ways, bites, stuffed, and sandwiches. The sandwich churros were undercooked and doughy in the middle. However, eating slightly raw dough was a concern but in my opinion that was not the biggest issue, as it seems the churros come straight out of the fryer immediately receive the ice cream while they were still too warm, thus melting the Ice cream instantly. We live nearby and have been wanting to try this for a long time! The kids were so excited to finally stop by for an afterschool treat. We ordered a churro sandwich, churro bites, churro loop all with soft serve, and an affogato. Pros: Cute setup, window for the kids to see the churros being prepped, and treats were yummy! Cons: The affogato was more bitter than those we've had at other spots with hardly any soft serve and sadly, the service. Our excitement as first-timers to visit and try everything was met with indifference. We weren't greeted with a smile or actually greeted at all. Both workers seemed annoyed by our presence and made us feel like an inconvenience. Thankfully my kids were so enchanted by watching the churros being prepped, they didn't seem to mind. If what I are looking for is pure super sweet indulgence this is the place for you. They have multiple types of churros with in different shapes and sizes. There's the loop, the bites, a few others and then what we tried - the filled. It was filled with Bavarian cream and then glazed in chocolate with a caramel dipping sauce. Super sweet and messy. I went on a Friday night, and they had an average crowd. The long wait is over and the Dulce Churro Cafe is OPEN! I have been watching their social media for months and was excited to hear it was their grand opening. Apparently everyone else was too because it took us 30 minutes to get through the line at 10pm on a Friday night. The wait...was worth it! Dulce Churro Cafe is a concept that focuses on Churros but gives it a little bit of a twist here and there. Sure you can get your typical churro in the regular stick formation, but why not make it more fun. They offer Churros in a variety of sizes, shapes and mixes that make this place a little unique, especially in Arizona. The way this shop works is you can get a base churro or go to the nines but remember each add on can add up in price real quick. Some of the fun offerings were churros shaped in a loop, churros made into bowls and some were fillable with rich filling options. By the time we reached the front there was some limitations with offerings due to the mass amount of people who love Churros. I settled on a caramal filled churro, dipped in ice cream with oreos on top. My husband got the El Grande which was the long stick with cream cheese and oreos. Last my Mother in law got the loop dipped in chocolate and adorned with almonds. Each one was nice, crisp and warm and it was absolutely delicious! You could watch through a clear glass as they fried up churros left and right for the crowds. The children kept flocking and the guy making them was showing it off to the kids, it was adorable. Everyone working there was extremely sweet even with the chaos that was happening. The employee at the register even double checked if I would like the Bavarian cream filling before I tried it to make sure I would like it. The decor was cute and they had a little lamb as their mascot which was included in small touches here and there. A lot of the machines they used were pretty state of the art like the filling station to the churro making machine. This is located in the Northwest parking lot of Higley and Baseline. Tons of parking and the inside is pretty spacious. I'll be back for some more Churros soon Dulce Churro Cafe! I went last night...and am still thinking about it today! :) I got the Spaniard with the hot chocolate dip. The dip was so creamy and delish!! The Spaniard comes with 4 mini loops. The loops are a little skinnier and crunchier then the traditional loop, but IMO makes it perfect for dipping! I asked for 2 of the loops plane and 2 loops with cinnamon sugar! Both were delicious to dip into the chocolate! The restaurant space was big with room to grow into for them. The glasses in kitchen was cool, we watched our treats as they were being made. There were lots of employees there and they were all helpful and friendly! A friend of mine got the ice-cream with her churro, and it's more like ice-milk then cream. It was good, but it wasn't great. We ordered a tray for our office party, and had it for a specific pickup time. Even had called and asked if it would be possible. They said yes and we were very excited. Got there for pickup, still hadn't finished our order. They were 30 an hour into opening, which is fine, but they had just started & rushed the order. Restaurant wasn't the cleanest, and the staff wasn't wearing gloves or hairnets. It was two young men who were more interested in chatting that trying to get our order done. You do get a lot in tray & it is yummy! But you have to add sauces which are individual and can cost quite a bit real quick. The Bavarian cream & Dulce de Leche sauces were great. Chocolate was rich, but good. The "Mexican hot chocolate" is just cold pre-made sitting in the fridge abuelita mix that they put in a cold cup and steam it to reheat it with an espresso wand. Literal lukewarm, tastes like Abuelita but it's basically sludge. I did know this in advance, but for anyone confused, it's not a drink, it's for dipping. Not worth it. I would recommend for one or two simple churros with a sauce each, but not for company orders and definitely not for the Mexican hot chocolate. read more

Last night I came here to check out all the hype and boy the churro was worth it!! There was a line literally out the door with people from all different demographics. They were busy with the line out the door into the parking lot for the whole 45 min we were there. When we got to the front of the line it was clarified to us that the dip goes on the side. Also if you get a loop it can't be stuffed either. In terms of product, this place has it down but could be refined more with the little things. My suggestions would be this place needs to invest in a doorstop so their customers aren't holding the door open in fear of it closing in their face. Also more seating would be great as people were standing uncomfortably in corners trying to eat. It would be convenient if the WiFi password could be printed and put somewhere easy to read so people don't keep asking the cashier. The password is long and I don't know when things should be capitalized or spaced out. I will definitely come back though, the drive is worth it !! read more
