It was a good size salad, but I thought the crab cakes were a little small, and a little over-cooked. Wifey had buffalo chicken sandwich with the beer-battered fries. Sandwich was huge and the fries were delicious....very good value for $8.95. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert.....but will definitely be back. We've already recommended it to several friends. THM (Take Home Message): Fun, friendly atmosphere. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Great portion sizes (except for the crab cakes). I have lived in the Pinehurst area for 8 years and have managed to miss this hidden gem in the Sandhills. Quite simply the best food, regardless of price, best service. I was amazed by the taste and quality. And even more surprised when I received my check. An instant favorite and date night spot. I strongly recommend the pub soup and mushrooms as starters. We have always been intrigued with going to Dugans because we like Irish food. We are not picky eaters at all, but this place was such a disappointment. The corned beef was so tough and chewy that we sent it back (we NEVER do that) and they said they had "cut it wrong." Round 2 was marginally better. The Shepard's pie was like school cafeteria food. I hear their burgers are good but steer clear of "traditional" Irish fare. It isn't. Waitress was super sweet. Beer was cold. Fire was nice. read more

Noise level in the Celtic room was extremely loud. We basically had to yell at each other to be heard. Thankfully, we were able to move downstairs and the noise level was much more tolerable. Easily the best place in the Village for a good beer, relaxed surrounding, and a burger. The bar staff is amazing. The service is great. Ate at Dugans last night for our anniversary and it was perfect. We had the black and blue steak and blue crab cakes. Both were excellent. The staff was great, especially, Stacy, the bartender. He was very attentive, but not hovering. I noticed the couple next to us had a problem with their order and it was fixed right away. We will be back soon! read more

This is really more of a place to grab a beer and a decent burger.
