Frutti de Mare - flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning to enhance the taste of the mussels, clams, calamari, and shrimp.

Our first experience with staying at this Inn and eating at the Vilaggio Restaurant both evenings we were there was phenomenal. You can tell the management and owners are attentive to detail as their staff was there in greeting us and opening the door when we checked into our room. Of course this is a self service check in but since we were arriving later in the day, they made sure we were welcomed as they were also just beginning their dinner service. After checking in and settling in our room we went to dine in the Villagio that features northern Italian inspired dishes. The waitress quickly seated us and gave us the featured specials of the day. We had the Rosette al Forno antipasti, which we would recommend highly to start. The roasted beet salad was split between my wife and myself and was certainly one that we truly enjoyed... a great choice even if you're are not a fan of beets. The beets along with the pecans are sweet enough to balance out the vinaigrette and the Gorgonzola cheese. I chose the Frutti de Mare and was not disappointed. It was seasoned just right to enhance the flavors of the seafood - clams, mussels, calamari and shrimp - and the linguini was cooked al dente. My wife had the braised short rib with risotto and it too was delicious. For the finishing touch we had the Panna Cotta and the Mousse al Cioccolato... both nicely done and not too sweet. All in all a perfect evening after a long trip! The staff will take care of you. We even noticed an elderly couple who appeared to have been celebrating an anniversary and the wait staff helped and assisted them with the flowers that were delivered to the restaurant ahead of time and brought the arrangement to their car. It's the small things that count!

The room was down right cold when we were seated - almost expected with all seats occupied. HVA/C was corrected as the parties departed. Our 4 top was the last to leave. Now onto our service - she was amazingly polite as she recognized we had not seen each other in nearly a year. Lots of news about our families, mutual friends and a few interesting neighborhood characters. Wine selections matched everyone's entree choice. Their French Onion soup was simply to die for, followed by a selection that ranged from a simple Fish & Chips, a crisp Cobb Salad, a flaky Chicken Pot Pie & aromatic Beef Bourguignon. All this was topped off with a warm double chocolate brownie smothered with a creamy French vanilla ice cream - thankfully the server figured correctly as she delivered this sumptuous treat with 4 spoons

Be careful and review their pricing before staying at this resort…read more Ask them for a complete pricing total including and extra fees. I was hit for an extra $1,000 resort fee (MAP/Social) for a 4 night stay. They never mentioned this MAP/Social fee in the reservation process or listed on my confirmation under "Stay Total". Only far later in the confirmation do they show the "MAP/Social" fee and taxes. My fault for not asking or looking for all of the extra fees they charge. My cost (one person) in May 2026 for a standard room 4 nights (breakfast &dinner) and 8 rounds of golf was $6,800. The resort is very nice. The employees, food and service was very good.

They opened at 11:30 and I was standing there as soon as the door opened. It's such an old school feel, something out of the 1920's or 30's. Then again considering the history of this hotel, that's not too surprising. I was offered a basket of free house made chips; that was super cool! The bartender gave me some recommendations, but I went with the turkey sandwich. I pretty much knew I was going to go with it too. Thick cut turkey (and I do mean thick), applewood-smoked bacon, Munster cheese, lettuce, sliced red onion, tomato and chipotle aioli on focaccia bread. What a great sandwich, one of the best turkey sandwiches I've ever had. I got the sweet potato fries for my side, they were hot and crispy. With the side of honey mustard (which I also poured on my sandwich), it took everything over the top. Oh and it included a big pickle spear, always a plus! And for $16, that's a heck of a deal for Pinehurst. The beverage selection isn't the biggest. They have three draft beers, but there are a lot more canned options. Super friendly service as well.
