Save your time and spend your money with another dealership. I found the sales team at Dublin unprofessional and condesending. After 6 weeks of wasting my time with empty promises of a deal, I finally called another dealership and was able to get my price finalized in one day. The clowns at Dublin actually said they were certain they could offer me a great deal and when I came in, the price was higher than the original quote they gave for the same car? Do people really fall for these sales tactics? If that wasn't the last straw, the final straw is when Michael B. thought I needed an algebra refresher when he said "AT I'm not very good at math, can you help me do a little subtraction" and had me physically read and write the numbers of the MSRP and the Invoice price and the price I wanted. When the price I wanted was under invoice, he said "AT, I'm sure you took algebra and can see this price is under invoice". I did the math and research before arriving and I was asking for the same price I had in writing from three other dealerships. I understand if financially they can't accept the number, but being condensending and treating me like a child is not the way to win customers. And what do you know? They called me back the next day seeing if we could come to a deal. TOO LATE - I already bought my car from another dealership! Not only would I never buy another car from them, but I would never even bring my car there for service. These guys are sheisty and unprofessional. Would not work with them again. read more

Keith Morita was a blessing - things do happen for a purpose. We were ready to buy a new car, but that evening, we saw a Mazda CX-5, TV commercial 5 X in one show. I insisted and got my wife and I to go to a dealership in Dublin. Didn't have one close by. We looked at most of the sub-SUV and were about to buy one. Again, we walked in, they gave us a key, said we're local and off we drove. Came back but had all these Safety Features questions? Wife wanted to walk away but Keith approach us and with caring intentions asked us if we needed help- no pressure as we said we were just looking, but we all know car salesman, just want to make a sale and push you towards Finance Manager. He first made sure he understood and net all our needs, then he took his time looking for a discount option, that we can help lower the price. When he felt that he had answered all our questions and concerns. He gave us his card and said he will be there when we are ready to buy. Never bad mouth competition, he didn't have to. Very professional, but most important was that he cared for us the buyer and not just make a sale. We bought the CX-5, that evening because we realized, maintenance, support, and follow-up care that most important factor after a SALE, and we were comfortable coming back to him. We would want to have a relationship and be able to go back to someone we can trust when we need to buy another one. This review is for the service center. Took my Mazda 3 in for the seat bolt attachment recall. Decided to have an oil change and service inspection. I don't know what they did, but AFTER the routine service the car drove horribly. It was making an incredibly loud sound and was pulling and hard to drive. I went across town and then immediately went back. I was told that the noise was "normal" because my tires had been rotated and they had some cupping issues. When my husband drove the car, he said he has never driven a car that sounded so bad or was so difficult to handle. Basically they took advantage of the fact that I was a woman who came in alone. They made it so that I would have to bring in the car sooner rather than later for the "recommended" repairs. Never going there again and never purchasing another Mazda. read more

Things got much worse before they got any better. Gave them a check to hold the car (on Saturday of Easter weekend), would return when the car was ready to be picked up and to complete the paperwork (which hadn't been started). When the deal went sour (on Monday) I let the Sales Manager know I'd cancel the check and look elsewhere for a car. Called the bank to cancel the check only to find out it was cashed first thing Monday morning. Again, no apology form the Sales Manager and given more run-around about providing them with a copy of my bank statement before being refunded. Escalated to Dave, the General Manager. At first he was more concerned with my negative Yelp review than correcting the situation and refunding my money or salvaging the sale of the car. After I finally was able to explain the situation, my distaste for poor customer service and being lied to he agreed to have a driver deliver a check to me that afternoon. Took my son's Mazda 3 in for service, oil change and tire rotation. Asked to have tires checked since a tire warning light was on. Mentioned that the driver rear tire had been low in pressure. Nothing found, driver rear tire checked for puncture and all clear, PSI back to normal on all tires. Two days later... light back on and same tire low in pressure. Took car to Wheel Works... screw found in driver rear tire! "Difficult to miss." Called Paul in service, asked if tires had been rotated... "well, no" Now wondering if ANY service was performed on my car! Very dissatisfied with the service! Telephone number for direct line is incorrectly printed on business card and the telephone operator had the nerve to tell me I had dialed the wrong number when I told her I kept reaching a fax line! Serious concerns with the Service Department!!! UPDATE: 4/21/12 I sent an email directly to the General Manager David Brown on 4/12/12, asking for an explanation.... as of today, no response! I guess it really doesn't matter to this place what their customers think as long as the bill gets paid! read more

After weeks of looking at for a car for our family of 5, my husband and I decided to purchase a CX9. Dublin Mazda came well recommended. We were not easy customers. We had limited time. We knew what we wanted. And after a few weeks of searching for a car amongst some Chevy dealerships in the East Bay, our frustration was at its peak. I think we said a couple of things on the rude side and they didn't even flinch. Our two young boys behaved appropriately for their age, which is not appropriate for a major time consuming purchase. (I don't know what we were thinking in bringing them, it was as though we had never purchased a new car before. We should know better.) With that in mind, other parents should know that Mike Davis got us the exact car we wanted in record-setting time. While we waited for the financing, paperwork, car detailing, etc., we noticed that the place was immaculate (I couldn't believe how clean the restroom was - a big deal with kids), all employees were professional, they had a waiting area with a television that had plenty of kid-friendly cable channels. The showroom and waiting area felt classy, but not in a pretentious way. It was family friendly. The salespeople were not pushy on any of the other customers. They had plenty of customers, but John-the-financing-guy treated us well. He was straightforward in going through all of the available extended warranty, insurance, and maintenance package. Again, we were not easy customers, but he was humorous and professional. After considering a Chevy Traverse and a Honda Pilot, the CX9 is the best value and feel of the 3. The car itself is another Yelp, and I'd give that 5 stars too! Particularly when Mike himself was out helping the detailer to get the car in perfectly clean condition. As if a car with 40 miles on it wasn't clean already, it was perfect-perfect when I drove it off the lot. He went through all the features so that I could understand them and hooked up my phone to the blue tooth. If you call, email or go by, I recommend Mike Davis for your salesperson. He went to great lengths to make sure that we got exactly (exactly!) what we wanted, and was patient and professional. The guy got it done right. My overall experience in terms of service was Nordstrom, but the price was great. I'll be back to get my car serviced. read more

I came here to check out a used car and when I first arrived a very friendly dealer approached me and he seemed to know somewhat what he was talking about. When I asked him if the car was here he wasn't sure and I ended up spotting it in the lot. I took a test drive and we both starting making small talk and it felt like I was talking to a old friend and not a "car dealer". When we got back to the dealership we started to negotiate a price etc. and then the manager approached me and the whole process change from friendly to almost hostile. They did try to work with me but at one point the manager was almost giving me attitude that "we helped you but if you can't work with us we are not working with you". I understand that dealers can't sell cars lower then the price they have it but I felt bullied. I have heard from people I know and read a lot of reviews about this dealer being positive but to me this is a horrible place! Ok it's been two months since we bought the car. The nice turned out to be short lived. As we are buying the car from a dealer we assumed reliability but WRONG WITH DUBLIN MAZDA. 1) the very next day after buying the car we found that the the leather near the door panel is torn. We contacted dealer and they asked for $65 to fix it - you decide what you want to infer 2) the battery died - it's been two months and I only drove less than 500 miles. You decide what kind of a car they sold. I called these sales guys and they wanted $99 just to check what's the issue. I got the battery replaced with Maida's and had to pay $130. In all, I think Dublin Mazda is another rip off dealer. You do your due diligence before dealing with these guys. We needed to buy a car and were looking for a used car.Finally we decided to buy new car and called Mazda dealership asked the pricing.then spoke with Michael Barrilleaux, internet sales manager. The price was higher than my budget so he suggested some other car within the budget with nice specs but still the price is little higher. i asked him if he can come down a little bit to match my budget which he did the very next day. That afternoon we went to the dealership, test drove the car and then James Anthony, Sales Consultant, helped with the whole transaction and all of the people who are involved in the process are very sweet and helpful and finally we got the car of our liking within our budget and had a great overall experience. will definitely go back here for any future purchase and highly recommend them. thanks to James. read more

I made an appointment with Gregory and all I can tell you is if your going to Mazda to purchase a new car don't go through any one else BUT Gregory. I have had a fair share of your typical car sales men, and Gregory was not your typical sales men. He listened to what I was looking for, he knew everything about the car and all the settings and features down to the T. He wasn't pushy, he was very friendly, he didn't bluff and act like he knew everything about the car, if he didn't know the answer he would tell you straight up, he also made the long car process go smooth and very fast. I am a returning customer. I was content with prior purchase (2016 Mazda6 GT). So I figured I would come right back to purchase another vehicle. This one would be a gift for my mother. I communicate with the internet sales manager and he provides an itemized price for the vehicle. I advise that I will be in on Saturday to test drive and he agrees. I arrive on Saturday and we cannot locate internet sales manager. No problem because I never provided a time when I would arrive and after about 10 minutes later someone else was able to provide a quick test drive. I email sales manager on Monday and request meteor gray CX-5 GT and he responds with price and availability. I agree to come in on Wednesday to discuss and work on final price. I receive communication on Wednesday afternoon that the vehicle is sold but he can locate similar/same car at another dealership with an additional $200 for transfer fee. Ok, no big deal. I arrive on Wednesday at 5 ( left work early and work in SF). I meet sales manager and he immediately advises me that cars price has increased $1k since he provided price 48 hours ago. I asked why did he not conveye this to me prior to my arrival. He claims to have sent me an email that he can never find. I say ok and leave. I am in and out within 3 minutes of my arrival after leaving work 2 hours early and + 1 hour commute. I come home and feel pretty upset about the price change and lack of communication. I reach out to the GM and he agrees to honor initial price and assures me dealership will make it right. I agree to another visit this upcoming Friday. Prior to arriving I agree to a different color ( Sonic silver) as the meteor gray is currently not available. Prior to my arrival sales person calls me confirms I will still make it and that vehicle is READY for delivery. I arrive with my family (new born son, wife, brother, and sister-in-law) as this is a gift for my mother and our hope is to finally present her with her gift this evening. We arrive at 6:15 I see vehicle and we begin to complete paper work. At 7:30 we have a problem. Apparently, no one knew that the car I was about to be sold had +4,500 miles on it. They apologize again and offer to possibly sale me this one at a discounted price, but would not give me the price as they feel that it is not much of a discount. They assure me that they found another car at another dealership and it will be available tomorrow. This vehicle has a little more options but the say " we will eat the cost" since they made the mistake and wasted my family's time. I still have patience, so I agree. I receive a call the following day expecting to hear "Your car is ready for pick-up", but instead I hear that the car we discussed and agreed upon yesterday evening will only increase my payments by $15.00 a month. I say, "you advised me you would eat the cost due to your errors". They respond, " I am sorry for the inconvenience and understand if you take you business elsewhere. We appreciate your patience and sorry for the inconvenience". The next day I communicate with the MAZDA OF FREMONT. I speak with Young Chi. We agree on a price over the phone and I am in out of the dealership within 2 hours. Dublin Mazda has forever lost my business, along with my family, and anyone else who asks me my opinon of this dealership (I get asked pretty frequently as mazda vehicles are sleek and attract positive attention). Terrible dealership. First of all, the first sales guy had issues locating the vehicle I wanted in their inventory. Then they finally found the key, and the tag said red, but the computer said black. I wanted a black car. So it took forever for the guy to check the records and looking at the invoice, etc... Before confirming it was black. Car found, but then I got handed off to another sales guy. Okay fine. Test drove two cars. Talked etc... At the lot. Finally sitting down to "talk" numbers. They started asking questions and I wanted to know the price of the cars first, not just a monthly payment amount. Is that too much to ask? The guy said "this is not how we do business here". Are you kidding me? Fine, I let him go get the numbers his way. I can back out the monthly payment to a purchase price. First thing he brings back? A financing sheet full of other charges (10k+) I did not ask for. We didn't even discuss any of it. It was just a tacked on item. Talk about deceit. I said no, so he comes and brings back another sheet. I didn't like the purchase price (msrp less the standard Mazda ~700 rebate) and told them I haven't checked out Fremont Dublin yet, but a sales guy over there emailed me a quote and offer and I wanted to see if Dublin would be able to match that offer. The guy then starts to get pissed. He goes to "see" if he can get a new price. Comes back with my trade in keys. And tells me that I can go to Fremont if I want. And then he makes a snark comment about how people come to this Dublin location after going to Fremont and getting bad service. Wow, this dealership is completely talking trash about another dealer. He then tells me to check Yelp and see how Dublin has so much better reviews than Fremont. Haha, a quick Google search and google reviews quickly showed me that this isn't the case. Pretty much telling me to leave and get out. So I did. This was all yesterday. So today, writing this review, I got the exact car I wanted, at the exact price I wanted, all with no bullshit. I have Dublin in Burlingame to thank for. As soon as I drove up, a sales guys runs to greet me before I step foot on their lot. This didn't happen at Dublin. When it came to talk about pricing, barebones pricing. No added crap. The guy didn't make me want to negotiate. He reduced the price way below msrp, something that Dublin didn't do. So no haggling. After the sales guy at Dublin was done bad mouthing other dealers, he told me to give him a call once I looked at other dealers, and he can talk about me wanting a Mazda then. Lol, not a chance. Your terrible sales reps just lost on a sale of a brand new 2016 Mazda 6 Touring with moonroof and a Bose system. Love my new Mazda 6, love Burlingame, HATE Dublin. On 5-4-12, I purchased a Mazda CX5 from Dublin Mazda. After visiting other dealers, to find either lack of inventory or in one case rather inept sales people, I found that dealing with Dublin Mazda was a positive experience. It began with Finance Director Tony Roberts, who was pleasant, professional, and had very good knowledge of their inventory. I was provided a test drive by Salesman Michael Barrilleaux, who had a most complete and technical knowledge of this SUV. Mr Barrilleaux was not in any way pushy and was straight forward in answering all my questions. He was the most pleasant and personable auto salesman I have ever dealt with. After less than favorable experiences in the Santa Cruz and San Jose areas with dealers close by to me, Mr Barrilleaux saw to it that a 70 plus mile drive to Dublin was well worth my effort. My husband and I ended up in the area earlier than scheduled, so we stopped at the dealership to see if they could get us in any sooner (since we saw an available appointment online for an earlier time than we had). The guy we spoke to said there were too many appointments to change our time, and the car would be done by 10:30. Ok no big deal, it was worth a shot. Then a young woman who was next to us was told they would be able to fit her car in that morning without an appointment. Which wouldn't have bothered me so much if her car wasn't done 2 hours before ours was. I'm 9 months pregnant, and I get that I'm more irritated than usual, but at least accommodate the people with appointments first. Our car wasn't done at 10:30, it was done at 11:30. And the service guy was laughing when he said our car was finally done. So after 3 1/2 hours and $120 later, for a simple oil change, we were finally on our way. Then we walk outside and I find my car with water spots and dirt on it after I had just washed it the day before! Apparently they spray water on it and say they washed it. Let's just say I'll be going to any other shop to get an oil change from now on. read more

When i was looking at the website for this dealership i found a that they had a Certified Pre-Owned 2013 Mazda3 for sale. I emailed them to see what kind of a deal we could come to. I got an email back from Juan Vasquez, and we negotiated a price that worked out for the both of us. When i came in today to inspect and test drive the car to make sure it was what i wanted before purchasing for the agreed amount, Juan Vasquez said he would not be able to make it in, and for me to speak with a Bruce Bode about the car in question. When i got there he asked me which car I was looking at (apparently he didn't know what was going on), so i gave him the stock # to see if he could track it down, as it was not located on the lot. When he came back he told me he could not sell me the car as it did not pass inspection due to rust being underneath the car. When i asked why i was not informed of this prior to coming to the lot to buy the car, he did not have an answer for me. He went back into the office for a minute to see what he could do. When he came back out a 2nd time, he told me that he can actually sell me the car, but it cannot be certified. I sure as hell wasn't going to buy a car that their site claimed to be certified, yet they themselves cannot certify it. So I left with no intention of coming back. I emailed Juan Vasquez shortly after asking why I was not informed about this before coming down to the dealership and wasting my time, but I have yet to receive an email back with any type of explanation. Apparently customer service to this place means lying to a customer to get him/her down to the lot just to have them hear that they cannot be sold a car that is listed on their website as being a certified pre-owned vehicle. Why would this dealer post an ad for a car that they claim is "certified pre-owned" before actually doing an inspection on the car to make sure that it can even be called certified? Will not be doing any business with this dealer again. Save your money, buy a car from somewhere other than this dealer. read more

UDPATE: General Manager Dave Brown contacted me immediately, to clear up any misunderstanding, and explain what happened. The edited review below still is an accurate reflection of what I experienced. I do commend them for trying to improve their customer service. There are many car dealerships where they almost don't care if you are a one-time customer only. ----------------------------------------------------------- SHORT STORY: - Vehicles have a good chance of having dealer installed options on them, that are added cost to the factory-equipped price. These aren't mentioned on the website. If you are calling the dealership or emailing them for quotes ask them to specifically check the vehicle, as the dealer options can be added unbeknownst to the salesforce. These options are listed on a separate tag on the vehicle. . - Make sure all $ amounts are exactly as you have negotiated as there is always human error; bug them about all the details. Don't assume. This is a good practice in any transaction where you are the buyer in a large transaction - They offer competitive prices and will honor SPlan prices for those who qualify. Full review: Attention to detail is one of the things that separates one product provider from another. in this day and age where one can price shop online or through autobuying "programs" like Costco, it's really the small things that make a difference. We've had our eye on a CX-5 for a little while now, like most of the car buying world, and after doing a test drive at Capitol Mazda (they refused to negotiate one penny) I found Dublin Mazda. I had long email chain with the internet sales guy. He told me that they have the CX5 in the color, trim, and drive option I wanted, and a price was agreed upon. So I scheduled an appointment with him the next day. What I was NOT told is that the CX5 I want (and all their CX5s at the time of this review) had dealer installed options on it that are in addition to the factory-equipped price. I understand the business reasons why a dealership wants to sell these options/accessories but this should be communicated to the prospective buyer at the time of price quotation and start of negotiation. (The general manager tells me that it was not deception on the salesman's part and just that there was missed communication between management and the salesforce on which vehicles will get installed options. Dealer installed options are handwritten on a separate tag on the vehicle) These dealer installed options may include any combination of: cargo mat, wheel locks, bumper guard, leather seats/interior, fancier wheels, or nav system. Some of these can be removed if unwanted, but may require some negotiating to do so. We negotiated for a while, but ultimately we walk away the first night. The next day the salesman emails me back and offers a lower price. I agree and head back there after work. When we go through the paperwork, I find that the price on the paper work is $12 more than what we agreed upon. It's only $12, but it's clear that the salesman didn't double-check his email for the exact price. It's the principle of the matter. If we agree on price $X, that's the exact amount that better be on the sale price when I sign. One of the purchase options available to customers is the ability to post-date personal checks to make sure any funding is in place. We took advantage of this option, however they deposited the check the next day. Luckily the funds were available, but someone slipped up on this. My pregnant wife and I just had THE WORST possible car buying experience. We walked in, and 3 men just stared at us.....finally one of them approached when we got to the desk. His name tag said Gregory, but we didn't find out for 15 minutes that it was correct. What we did find out before his name was that his pants were so tight that we could see more than you should see on a first date much less when trying to buy a car, He asked us what we were looking for. My wife explained that we were pre approved for an amount and that the amount and pre approval said that we could put no money down. we saw a car that we wanted to look at. He pulled it up, I asked if things would go faster since we were pre aprroved. He responded with the standard response about test driving. He pulled the car around, we test drove. Conversation was forced, and half assed. Bear in mind that my wife walked in wearing an Oklahoma Thunder Tshirt AND jacket. Yet he still asked if we were from around here....really? Then as we were getting close to the dealership he casually said (as if it would help showing the 30's-40's lesbian couple) that his GRANDMOTHER has had 2 Chrysler mini-vans (that's what we were test driving). Once back inside, he again showed zero real desire to sell the car. He of course asked if we would finance through them if they could beat the rate we already got. To which we re-explained no money down, blah blah blah. He got all the info he needed, our car keys on the car that we made clear we owed money on and would have to be the trade in VERY EARLY ON. He did the whole "Let me go talk to my manager" routine back and forth. Finally he sat down and told us that we would have to put 5700 down becuase we are 6k under on our car and that it was through the same lender that we were pre approved under. When that was pointed out he just stared at us with confusion. Then repeated that we were under on the car....which we reminded him 3 times that WE HAD TOLD HIM THAT AND WERE PRE APPROVED FOR MORE THAN 10K OVER THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE CAR. To which he just kept asking "Well what can you put down?" Also if we had THAT AMOUNT OF CASH BURNING A HOLE IN OUR POCKETS IT WOULD HAVE GONE INTO PAYING DOWN THE CAR WE ARE TRYING TO TRADE IN FOR THE MINI VAN! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK IF WE HAD THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY WITH TWINS COMING IN 3 MONTHS, THAT WE WOULD POUR IT ALL INTO A CAR DOWN PAYMENT TO RAISE OUR MONTHLY CAR PAYMENTS? KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE BUDDY! I was done, I got up and walked out. GREGORY, you didn't want our business clearly. It must be nice to be balling so hard that you could treat people this way. You didn't even bother phoning it in buddy. Dublin Mazda: 1) Just because we don't come rolling in, in a brand new bmw like the family you were falling all over to help, doesn't mean that we don't deserve to be helped. 2) Teach yours salesmen how to shake hands and introduce themselves. 3) Why did we not SEE A SINGLE FEMALE EMPLOYEE IN THE WHOLE PLACE? I am torn here. On the one hand, they found the car we wanted, pretty-much met the price we set, and everyone was very nice--especially Tom Rood. A salesman even delivered the car to my home. On the other hand, I spent almost three hours at the dealership AFTER we'd struck our deal. The salesman (not Tom) wasn't trying to upsell, believe it or not. He was just amazingly inefficient. It took him at least an hour to fill out a 2-3 pages worth of documents. After that, there was only one person who could actually take my check (nope, not financing--literally accepting a check) and I waited over an hour for him to be free. Then it turned out they hadn't installed something, notwithstanding all that extra time. I eventually grew hungry enough that I was ready to walk out, but they didn't offer so much as chips from the vending machine.... I'd like to give these folks 5 stars for being friendly, and the negotiations were reasonable. Sadly, I just can't quite get over the 3+ hours that were hijacked from my day, without anyone there seeming to take it very seriously. read more
