The people who work here are friendly and knowledgeable, and their rewards program is a great bonus. They also offer bulk options for some of their products, which is helpful if you're not local enough to stop by frequently. I do wish that they could switch their packaging from plastic bags, but I understand why that might not be feasible. Either way, they've got a great selection at a great value!

We noticed it wasn't too far from our Brooklyn neighborhood so we headed over on a Saturday afternoon. The shop was dimly lit with natural light beaming through the front window. The smell was herbaceous and woody, but not as pungent as classic botanicas that can overwhelm you with scents of patchouli and incense. We were greeted by Sid and Ziggy, both of whom were laid-back but ready to help at any time. They also gave the shop some down-to-earth vibes which is great when you're a bit more pragmatic like me. We explained to them the one to eight problems we each had and they directed us to teas, herbs, tinctures, and even smokable blends (not my scene but helpful). It was heaven! I left with the Sinus Formula Tea and Golden Tonic. The tea is smooth, round, & tasty, and has been keeping my sinus headaches at bay. I haven't used the tonic as much but every time I add it to my water, my body goes into flush-mode which is great for my body aches and overall gut health. Sid mentioned that there was an online shop for when we have to re-up but this experience is well-worth the trip.

Great resource in the area for herbal remedies and essential oils…read more Now that my little one has started school, the dreaded viruses every other week have started as well. She had a particularly gnarly cough that honey alone wasnt helping. I read about marshmallow root being good for sore throats and coughs and decided to stop in for the dried root as well as a tincture in case the tea was rejected. I also have been suffering from migraines with the change of weather and picked up some peppermint oil. The marshmallow root tea was tasty to me but my little hated it. I opted for the tincture in some juice and it helped break up her cough. Will def be back to explore some other natural remedies... in the mean time I will be experimenting with marshmallow root to make medicinal marshmallows.

Now, I'll admit, the shop is deep in Brooklyn, and since I'm usually out in Queens or Manhattan, it's a bit of a trip for me. But honestly? worth it. The staff is super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. They're always ready to help and answer any questions you have which is nice if you're like me and always looking to try new herbs. If you can't make it to the store in person, no worries! They have an online store and an app, so you can easily order from the comfort of your couch. I personally love going in and making it a whole fun trip to restock my herbs, but if you're in a rush, the app is super convenient.
