This place is so magical! My journey as a graphic designer has taken me across the world and to meet this family run business is amazing. The man I met today, I'll have to apologize I can't recall, was super helpful pulling and recommending herbs and spices! They are super helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to rēmëdies and how to go about enjoying and benefiting from these handpicked herbs.

They surprisingly have a wide variety of organic spices, nuts, lentils, and ingredients you wouldn't even imagine they would have, such as their organic cocoa butter, which we have yet to find at another local shop. It was so much fun just wandering around the store and discovering everything. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming too. My absolute favorite thing here is their Mango Lassi, it is $4.95 and it is perfection. It may be the only lassi better than the one I make at home. If you are as obsessed with mango lassis as I am and want to try one the makes it better than most (if not all) of our local restaurants, then please save one for me.

Came in to find me some candles for wicca and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of colors they had at decent prices. I've noticed at the typical occult leaning stores charge up the yang for the most basic $hit, so seeing this was refreshing. The owner was nice; they didn't have black in-stock but he tried looking for me anyway and that effort mattered. He was warm and expressed a tone of gratitude which I found lovely! I will be returning back if I need an obscure ingredient for a recipe I've been dying to cook! They also have henna, etc. as well as more imported things that you are unlikely to find anywhere else. Def would recommend if you want to support a small business!

Recently I am introducing more and more because I love the taste. No doubt I eat a lot of TUMs but it's worth it some days. In the past I've had the Marhaba Mayan Tropical Sea Salt purchased here. I'm very fortunate to have a Yelp gift of the same Sea Salt without making a trip to the store. Here is the quote from the package. I recommend you visit the location for everything spicy your heart desires. I'll stick with sea salt for now. TROPICAL SEA SALT "This sea salt was harvested off the coast of Guatemala salt ponds, created along the mangrove forests, where Mayan began harvesting salt since as early as 1000 BC. Nurtured by mineral-rich volcanic soil and the tropical waters this salt lend it a mild minerality and higher moisture content, making it an ideal finishing salt, enhanced with the taste of the tropics. Adds flavor to both sweet & savory foods, such as seafood & grilled meat," It's definitely good!

I was shocked to see just how big this shop was, there's an upstairs section, and then the aisles kept coming. Everytime you thought you were coming to the end, there was a little maze that took you somewhere new. We spent almost an hour in here, and if we weren't heading home the next day and limited on suitcase space, we could've spent even more time browsing and buying. We ended up getting a variety of seasoning blends, lentils, bitters, powdered cheese and egg whites, and some spices. Can't wait to start cooking with all of it! Customer service was very friendly and welcoming.

The sheer variety of spices and loose-leaf teas on display is impressive and makes for a beautiful, almost Moroccan-bazaar-like atmosphere. The good news, the quality of the products seems excellent. The selection is top-notch, and you can find some truly unique blends not available in regular grocery stores. The just okay news (hence the three stars), the price point is a bit steep compared to other places, which is likely due to the prime Grand Central location. For the small tins/pouches, it feels slightly overpriced. My main critique, and a recurring theme from what I've seen, is the hit or miss customer service. On my visit, the staff seemed a little distracted to help, more interested in chatting among themselves than assisting customers browsing the vast selection. Do not expect good service. If you can accept that fact, and know the vast selection of spices you want. Overall, it can be a great spot for unique, high-quality spices and teas, but only if you know exactly what you want and don't mind the price or potentially indifferent service. Worth a browse, but perhaps not a "must-do" unless you're a serious foodie or tea enthusiast in need of something specific.
