I wasn't there personally, but I've heard everything that happened from someone I trust -- and what went down at Juicy Mama is completely unacceptable. A close friend (a regular customer) went in to get a smoothie and simply asked to swap a few fruits -- not add extras -- something this place has done for her before, especially due to allergies. Instead of helping her, the worker behind the counter (with a noticeable "TV baddie" attitude) caught an attitude, was disrespectful, and refused to accommodate even basic requests. When she asked to speak to the manager, the employee used her personal phone that was charging on the food prep counter -- completely unsanitary -- and then lied about what was being asked. She wouldn't let the customer speak for herself, and when my friend raised her voice in frustration (understandably), the situation spiraled dangerously out of control. The employee ended up throwing a smoothie at her -- twice -- and even grabbed a butcher knife and came toward her in front of other customers and a terrified trainee. My friend felt threatened and scared for her safety, and things only got worse from there. She had to defend herself, not knowing how far this girl was willing to go. I don't care how stressful a job is -- threatening someone with a knife and putting people at risk is never okay. The owner needs to take this seriously and remove this employee before something even worse happens. This was more than just bad service -- it was violent, unsafe, and completely out of line. read more

My friend wanted some Ginger shot so I figured we just go aroynd the neighborhood o to see if we have any type of good juice bar and yes right of the corner of Schenectady ave and Lincoln pl you'll found juicy mama! Ginger shot cucumber shot watermelon shot basically healthy shot all around and along with their amazing smoothies which are delicious i think janell put some TLC in it. Lols! And yes they have a sitting area inside and outside! Janell was so great she made us try some of her samples that she do on a daily and I met the owner who's a black business owner also very shy but I got him out of his shells and spoke about how long he's been there But yes definitely check them out the juice everything is great and majority of the items are like under $10 so you can't beat that definitely stop by when you feel in the mood for some juicy mama !!! read more

Small juice and Patty spot that offers fresh juices/smoothies as well as various fillings of patties (like vegan beef, salmon, veggie, etc.). The woman working there was super sweet and let me taste my smoothie before pouring it out the blender which i appreciated. I got the green vibes smoothie and it was delicious, the perfect blend of fruits and greens. I also got the callaloo patty which was tasty. Great spot to stop by for a quick, healthy meal. read more

My first time ever walking into a juice spot and knowing what I wanted before I saw the menu. It's been like 2 or 3 years now that I started juicing and apparently I have evolved. So while visiting my sister who lives across the street from this spot ; I stepped inside fingers crossed hoping they would have the juice of my dreams or at least make it if I told them how. I walk in and the woman behind the counter was finishing up with the last person. It's a small space but a burst of color and a breath of fresh air almost on the corner of a dense crown heights block. You know the kind of block where it's hard to drive down but everyone still double parks (no parking good luck with that). I chose that time to look around a snap a few pics bc it smelled fresh and I knew I was leaving with something. The second I asked her if they make juice that's not in the menu I regretted it. She had a perplexed face so I felt bad. Like here they are creating this whole menu and I didn't even think to try it. So I went for the Brooklyn Rush. Then in walk my two teens. They are both like all whispery Mom I want this and that. And they ended up ordering their own custom thing which if you look on the menu is that last item (any 5 items) HA! She probably couldn't hear me that's why she had that face! And the juice was good! I drank mine in like 7 seconds and I paid $24 for 3 smoothies something about that being the only size left. I thought that was hella pricey but I was far away from home so never again. But my sister who lives in the area and anyone else whose pockets can afford should def check out this little burst of sunshine on Schenectady. They have a little take to eat at outside and chairs to sit as well. They also sell Pattie's which I didn't check out bc I was there for the juice. read more

Oh man, where do I begin? I love this place soooooo freaking much!! The people who work there really are knowledgeable about their craft and it makes me feel relaxed enough to try many different items vs my usual approach to getting the same thing over and over. My current fave smoothie is The Super Juicy but I'm a huge peanut butter fan so I usually add a bit extra. The shakes are ok but they need to hire people that actually know something about fitness and protein. I ordered a medium sized smoothie with added protein. The woman behind the counter mis measured and it came out to be a large. Her mistake not mine. She decides to give the extra to a random customer instead of me. Normally that would be fine, except the protein I paid for is in it. And when I objected to that she said I'd have to pay for a large. Why do I have to pay extra to get the full 30g of protein I paid you for?? Your shop is down the block from a gym, which makes up for a large portion of your customers. Small, cute, clean and friendly. What more do you need from a juice spot that also serve patties. When I visited I was in search of a small snack while running errands. Juicy mama came through with a fish pattie. It was no more than $3 so perfectly priced. I noticed that they also use square. Jerk Plantain, Pumpkin, & Callaloo patties were all Good. The Crust they use for the patties taste pretty good as well. Had a Custom smoothie and that was also made to perfection. I hate to rate this local smoothie shop a 2 Star but unfortunately that's what it is. The first time I went there the smoothie (super juicy) and customer service was great, I actually drank it all before I made it home a few blocks away. The next time I went it was horrible. A different employee helped me- first I waited for 5 minutes until the employee decided to help me, then I had to remind her about the banana that goes in the smoothie.
