This is a very small bakery but, there were many ppl in line so I figured it would be pretty good. I went in for something sweet as it was about 8 in the morning but, there were scones, fresh out of the oven that I had to try. I got the cheddar and chive scones. OmG. So warm and good. Crisp edges and soft and fluffy everywhere else. I ate it in minutes. This would go amazing with a side of pasta. My goodness. 10 out of 10. When I am back in the area, I'll try a warm Blueberry scone.

We were lucky enough to snag some goodies and got a bit of everything, we just weren't patient enough to wait to photograph everything. We did the Za'atar Gruyère Croissant, chocolate croissant, the cheese biscuit item they had (don't remember exact name) and the sfogliatelle. I'm in search of the best croissant in DC, so I regret not getting the regular croissant on this visit, but the chocolate croissant gave me an idea of what to expect. Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. When we asked what the most popular items were, we were surprised it wasn't the more classic bakery items, but we enjoyed what we tried. We want to go back soon to try some other items as well. My friend got a coffee and also enjoyed that! This is the perfect place to stop by for a treat if you make it in time!

A tasty sweet treat near City Center DC…read more I enjoy coming here when my sweet tooth is talking to me lol. I ordered a small cup of banana foster & dark chocolate and during the summer time my favorite is the thai coconut milk & vietnamese cinnamon because it has a sweet & savory taste to it (the best combo ever). I normally get a small cup because the portions are filling especially if you had lunch or dinner beforehand. They also sell pints of gelato, sorbetto, tea, coffee, & seasonal drinks as well. There's seating inside & outside. The store is fairly small, but you're still able to sit with a few friends. The service was quick & you're able to try out the flavors. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Typically there's a long line, but it moves very quickly.

Having to sit outside due to no available seating indoors made it worse. Gelato was tasty, nothing to get worked up for in my opinion, but maybe the fruity flavors are better! Being a frozen dessert connoisseur, I was a bit let down. Didn't finish due to the soup mess in my cup that was running all over the place & the spoon with 0 ladling power. Didn't feel like I was missing out by tossing the remnants. Come here to spend a pretty penny on some gelato!

It used to be a great, small, quaint chain, but now they've expanded a lot and I feel like the quality has suffered. Still many delicious options though! Also note that this one in particular is very large and very noisy: a large room, high ceilings, and loud music. I wouldn't call it particularly relaxing.

This Zeke's, which is one of several around SC, is small featuring a few indoor and outdoor tables, a standing rail, counter and a few merch/coffee shelves. It's plenty of space, especially for the area, but I did notice that the line backs up out the door very easily. But even with that, they moved pretty quick, so you are never waiting too long for the goods. From entry to exit, with coffee in hand, I was in store roughly 3 minutes. They have all your favorites and classics of a good coffee shop plus a few house curated drinks. I was after an iced latte and added oat milk and SF sugar syrup. The latte was simple, but so tasty! The vibes are good. Chill and relaxed, while being uniquely local. Overall, really enjoyed my brief experience at Zeke's...and equally enjoyed my latte! Would definitely visit this or another Zeke's when back in DC.

From the moment I stepped in, I felt a relief from the hustle and bustle of 14th. While the salmon toast looked plucked from a magazine cover, I unfortunately found it pretty ordinary. The coffee I tried, however, inspired me to try more of the menu. I'm not sure if this is mainly a spot for theatre goers, or the general population, but I'd happily return when I'm seeking a quick "pick me up" on 14th.
