The cat behaved wonderfully on his first pedicure visit. He seemed pleased to get his mani/pedi and such is a sure sign of success. Pets names are displayed on a welcoming whiteboard, required paperwork is done in advance so we zipped through in 15 minutes. Lots of accessories in front display are for pursuing while waiting. After a personal experience and speaking with other customers who go here, there is a clear understanding that this place has continuously raised prices with no warning, at an OUTRAGEOUS AND INCONSISTENT rate. Based on my most recent experience, the price to groom my dog increased by ~46%. By the way there was no warning before I came to pick my dog up. I'm happy to spoil my dog but please warn customers of such high increases and share just reasoning for increases. While this place is cute and local, I have chosen to drive farther for my 20 pound dog to get groomed. If you enjoy paying egregious prices then welcome to Dtails, enjoy. I recently brought my dog in for the first time last month. He's a 13 lb bichon and I wanted to achieve a bichon look. The grooming was great and I left very happy and scheduled my appt. I paid 82.39. No problem. Today, we had our next appt. this time I didn't require as much work because this was a maintenance and not an initial cut and style. I wanted his ear butt trimmings but no all over trimming and just a whitening. This time my partner brought him in and I waited In the car. When I heard the price it was an additional 20$ than last time. I called dtails and asked what this was for and she stated oh the 51$ is for a Yorkie sized dog (10lb approx) and we charge an extra 20$ for the size. So I said okay hung up but compared prices that I paid last month and realized there was a discrepancy. I called back and asked for my 20$ back. She hung up on me and ignored all future calls. They do a good job but...... OMMMMMFFFFFGGGGGGG THE PRICES!!!!!!! I was just charged $140 for my dog because?!?! WHO KNOWS!!!! They charge what they want it seems. Prices go up every single time. They have gone from $89 which is also ALOT to $140 in about 4 months!!!! I paid because I really didn't want to make a scene but I felt sick!!! Read the other reviews. I'm not alone. My dog (he is a big lab/Pyrannese) and I are still both recovering from our experience this morning. I had to pay $97 UPFRONT when I made the appointment. And I paid the customary 20% tip on top. While they did an "okay" job grooming him, they were not friendly at all and he has not been himself since. He was whimpering and would not leave my side all day. D'Tails is amazing! The staff is friendly, caring and goes above and beyond to make your fur baby comfortable. My pup Cally looks beautiful every time we go there (which is weekly). Kayla and Karissa do a beautiful job with Cally! She's a handful now that she is 16 and is a little more wiggly now that she is older, so they tag team grooming her. Her tail is always wagging when I pick her up! Angelina at the front desk always greets you with a smile on her face and has a great personality. I love seeing her at 6:45 a.m. all smiles and cheerful! I can't say enough about D'Tails! I wouldn't go anywhere else with my baby! read more

My groomer closed up her shop so I had to find another place that I could take my long-haired cat to get a lion cut. I was really nervous about trying a new place but I tried Dtails and I was so impressed with the experience. My cat has never had a better cut and has been in a great mood ever since she went to this salon. So I know she was treated very well while she was there. I also bought a cookie for my dog which he loved. They have a full case of the most adorable treats for dogs including birthday cakes and bones! read more

Tried this groomer for the first time yesterday, and I couldn't be happier with the service we received. A lot of grooming places look like dumps, but not here. You walk into a clean, beautiful space with very friendly staff. Stacy groomed my little pup, she came out with a huge smile and played with my dog to put her at ease. I called to cancel an appointment due to the owner of the two dogs having a medical emergency the night before appointment. We were both in the ER until I could leave the following day, the owner was admitted. The number I called and sent the text to was the number that came through from Google. They claim they didn't receive the message and charged $160.00. Even though i left a voice message that clearly said Details, to cancel, email or text. I tried to explain the situation and reschedule, they refused to waive the charge and blamed having no control over the wrong number through Google. The number isn't wrong if the Details answer machine picks up! This was the only way I could reach out while in the hospital with the owner of the dogs having a medical emergency! They said they rather lose us as a customer, we have three dogs and went there for 11 years. There were a few other times we weren't happy but stuck by them for reasons unknown. read more

Absolutely love this groomer!!! So glad I found them. They have taken great care of my pooches a few times now. They come home looking fabulous! I will continue to take them every month.... Prices were raised and they did not even tell me when I went to pick up my dog and was going to pay. They are about $30 over the typical price around the area. Brought my dog there for several visits with good results. Last time we brought her they shaved her, not because of knots but they said my wife requested that. I have been taking my dogs to D'tails for years and have always loved the grooming and care they have received. No doubt they are very nice and always do a good job with the cuts BUT as you will read in many recent reviews the pricing has become completely OUTRAGEOUS and inconsistent. I dropped my Yorkie off and was charged what I would normally pay for grooming two dogs. I read a review where they said a Yorkie sized dog is $56 (which is what I was quoted at drop off) then today the groomer called and told me that it would be 67.99 plus tax and if I wanted them to leave it a little longer there would be an additional $10 charge??? The original quote was for a chihuahua sized dog, not a YORKIE? Ummmm what?! They seem to be charging whatever they want as the prices are no longer listed anywhere in the salon. I had heard this from several regular clients and I just didn't want to go elsewhere but I have to. No more D'tails after 7 or more years and 5 pets. It's really incredible. we have been clients for years. my dogs are 10.5 yrs and 9yrs old. in the beginning our experience was GREAT! however the past two years it has gone down hill! Everytime I make an appointment online per request they text/call me at least 3 times to change it as no one is actually available. We are always on time and never had been late except our very LAST appointment. I explained I was stuck in a hospice meeting and that i was on my way. Halle explained they do not take anyone after 20 minute (Understandable) I arrived exactly on that mark. groomer discussed the basic bath +deshedding shampoo (our usual), I agreed and left. My husband went and picked him Up once my dog was finished and they charged him the amount they usually do to have both of my dogs bathed. He called and the staff rudely told him they charge per minute when you're late. No where was I told this in the message conversation I had with the employee or when I dropped off my dog. Prior to this there pricing was always off give or take $30. It was never the same. First time being late and then robbed! would never recommend this company. Sad. read more

Never would I recommend this place to anyone. They don't belong taking care or being near animals when they have absolutely no heart at all. I was recommended to this place and LEFT where I was going to try them out. I had an emergency situation and couldn't make it to my appointment on time and so I had my boyfriend bring my dog 15 minutes late and they wouldn't take my dog and charged me $70 for the miss appointment as I'm crying on the phone because of my emergency and the fact that I'm already struggling to pay my bills in this tough world. You think because it was my first time they would have some heart to understand but nope as I am crying they said they were still charging me and hung up on the phone. They don't love dogs they love money and maybe that's why I heard they bring the dogs downstairs for the haircuts because they are probably as cold and cruel to our puppies and dogs like they are to their owners. I made an appointment at this groomer. I then gather up 3 anxious dogs and go to the groomers, to have them tell me my appointment is next week. I absolutely know I scheduled it, and have the right date, as the groomer tried to schedule it next week, and I had her move it up. The fact that this groomer took no responsibility for their mistake, and, made me feel like I put the wrong date in, is too much for me to come back. Overpriced as well. Now I have to scramble for another appointment elsewhere. I am not surprised to see they are not rated well on Yelp. I am not someone who puts out negative reviews. Was taking both my cat and dog here for the past 5 years and now will be looking for another groomer. They're constantly increasing their prices every time we take them. This time I took my cat and not only did they charge $70 (for a small cat mind you) but they also cut her nails WAY too close to the wick to the point that she started to bleed a little. Worst experience with a professional groomer in my life. First of all I made my dog an appointment for shabby to chic which they quoted being 40$. My mother doing me a favor brought my dog in and confirmed the price of 40$ because they have put in extra charges for me before. When my mother got back to pick up the dog they told her it was 68$ My mother was rightly upset and confused why the price went up so much. They then took some charges off and totaled her at 51$ She then told them that she didn't have that much.. because I was in a appointment she said could I call the next day and put it my card. But something isn't right with the owner. My mother stepped out to call me and explain what was happening and the CALLED THE POLICE ON HER. My mother was so upset. I called the owner right away to settle the 11$ of add ons. And she told me "I'm having a bad day" was the reason she called the cops on my mother!! It was just simply unacceptable. My mother was mortified. I will never go back here again. read more

We've been going to D'tails for years, unfortunately the pricing has gotten extremely out of control and the service is just not what it used to be. They no longer post their prices and in the last year the cost of a basic bath and teeth cleaning for our small beagle has increased 60%! When inquiring about the pricing, there are additional charges for lengths of weeks just for a basic bath even if you have to reschedule DUE TO COVID! I had no plans to return but received the covid form via email to complete before an appointment so I replied and asked if we had an appointment I wasn't aware of so I could cancel, no reply. Then a few days later they called my husband asking if we could come in at an earlier time for our dog's bath and he just said yes assuming I had booked. I called back immediately to explain that I didn't book and had emailed, she saw it on file and that no one had gotten back to me, after speaking to the owner, I was told that If I ever decided to come back, since my husband just confirmed minutes prior that they would have to put a charge on my account for the service. I've been bringing my goldendoodle Lucy here every three weeks for the past two years. The staff is amazing and the owner karissa is always professional and a sweetheart. All the groomers do a great job, but i always request that she gets groomed by Kevin. He is amazing and always grooms her perfectly and is great with Lucy. My dog has extremely long hair and gets knots all over very easily and she always comes out looking great. I drive all the way here from Warwick to get my dog groomed for a reason!
